The Epic Duo (RWyvern and Draggie)

Leira freaked a little out when she realised no rain was on her, she looked around and saw a bubble of water forming around her. Damn it! Now a new emotion and element. She sighed, sorrow, water. She needed to keep on flying though.

After what seemed like hours, the cave Lankharra lived in came into view. Eager to get out of the rain but scared of what his master might do, Takhorr hesitated for a second. Then he slunk in, trying not to be noticed by his master.

'THERE YOU ARE!!!'

A rough calloused hand grabbed Takhorr, slamming him roughly into the wall and pinning him there. Takhorr found him staring straight into Lankharra's red, scarred eyes and absentmindedly fought Lankharra's grip, only causing him to be pushed harder against the wall.

'I...I'm sorry I came late!' he gasped, trying to escape Lankharra's crushing weight. 'Hireny's dead and the place is in turmoil. You -'

Lankharra cut him off. 'You mustn't go against your goals, right?' He whipped a claw against Takhorr's face, nearly scratching out his eye. Then, without another word, he let Takhorr fall to the floor and thundered out to the large hall room behind the cave, where he started yelling out orders. Takhorr lay on the ground, bruised and winded. How the hell have I lived here my whole life... he thought.

(( Leira's gonna be 100 times madder than that when she finds out o3o... by the way, can you read my posts in that colour? I could change it ))

Leira tried to make the bubble go away, but her sorrow wouldn't drain out. She thought of happy things, but no luck. She truely felt sad in her heart, and only when she found the Oracle would she be happy again, and free when she killed whoever killed her parents. She lifted her head, and when she did, it lifted her spirit.

The Great Mountain.

That's where the Oracle lived. For a second she was joyful enough to hide her sorrow, and the bubble dropped. Now she was being pelted with rain again, but she was near a cave. The Oracle was nice... well... the kingdom often visited him and all of them came back pretty happy. She flapped her wings extra hard, then glided down to the side of the mountain. She saw a ledge leading into a cave about 100 meters away, and sprinted there. It took a few seconds before she was on the ledge.

"Come in, my dear"

"Yes, you look wet"

Leira perked her ears at the sound of a male voice and a female voice. Was this the Oracle? No wonder the kingdom visited a lot, it was close by. Or was it? She slowly crept into the cave, afraid to shake the rain off.

"Here, we're here"

She heard the crackling of a fire and jumped back. One of them was breathing fire. She bent forward to see a head, on the slim side with frills trailing down it's long neck. An orb of shadows formed and she also saw the male's face. A bit bulkier with two ram horns, two other sharp horns behind those. She noticed they were connected... a two headed hydra.

"Yes, we're a two headed hydra. Warriors cut off all our other heads, and we couldn't grow two more for every head cut off. Gods put a curse on us, but with that curse we are able to see a lot. Know a lot."

Leira felt a little pity for them, but perked up when she heard about knowing a lot. What about who killed her parents and Hireny?

"Go on, ask your question"

She paused.. wondering how to ask. Appearently to the ones who came back from the Oracle, you had to ask with only 7 words. No more, no less. Otherwise you'd be chased off, your question never answered. It also had to be unique, not the same as any other question asked before. She took a breath.

"Who killed Hireny and my parents, Oracle?"

They paused, taking it in. The female nodded, it was unique and used 7 words. The male snorted and whispered to the female. Leira watched.

"We were once a dragon like you, unable to control her emotions. Used the elements. In fact, we are one"

The fire and the shadows disappeared. She blinked, and awaited her answer. Instead, a ball of water appeared. It was large, and splashed down in a puddle on the cave floor. The female added some fire, then the male some shadows. They added a few elements, then showed the scene of her parents death. She looked away when they started getting killed, but couldn't see the shadowy figure. Again, when the scene for Hireny appeared, the figure was cloaked.

"Takhorr. Assistant of Lankharra. Assassin."

They said at the same time.

Leira wondered if she knew a Takhorr, then it hit her. "Need to head back home" Was what Takhorr said. He seemed in a rush. She took her breath, and her eyes glowed red almost. She spat out fire, her chest swelled up.

The Oracle vanished, and she was left there in the cave. Unable to control her anger and sorrow, she lifted off, breathing flame into the night.

Takhorr

She tried to send a telepathical message to him, but no luck with the crackling rain and her fire. She heard more crackling behind her, but louder... and hotter. She swore and moved to the side, turning around to see a large, red wyvern. He gave a toothy grin and sent a message.

They wanted an assassin, I'm yours

Her assassin? She cursed - sent to kill her. Lovely. Who were 'they'? Maybe the kingdom. She breathed out a lot of fire, winding her easily. The wyvern got burnt a little, but dodged to the side. Leaving them face to face.

Damn it, Takhorr. Can you hear me?! Someone sent an assa-

Leira was quickly cut off as he sent shards of fire in her direction. She was burnt in the stomach by one and cried out, her wings wanted to fold into her body. She was going to die if she didn't kill this thing.

((Yus, I can read it in that colour :3 Green is easier than blue though.))

Takhorr slowly got to his feet and walked towards the hall, when Lankharra was thundering out orders to his army. Looking in through the entrance into the cave, one could see about five hundred odd soldiers, all rough looking and carrying various wicked weapons created by themselves. Lankharra was angry; he was taking it out on them. When one failed to move on command he took a blow to the jaw. Takhorr knew he should be out there as well, but instead he stepped back. Looking outside into the rain, he suddenly heard a distant, crackled message.

Dammit! Leira was under attack! Snatching the opportunity while his master was occupied, he fled out into the rain, hoping he was taking the right path. For now, it didn't even occur to him that Leira had already been to the Oracle. All he cared about was escaping Lankharra and going to help another - something that just seemed...wrong. To disobey his master and help one he should kill...it just seemed wrong.

Leira growled, baring her fangs at the 'assassin'. So, the kingdom was this bad? They didn't even question her. She snapped out of her thoughts when a wave of fire came towards her, she simply blew fire back, and as the heat touched, it exploded into one, big ball. Leira flew back a little, as well as the assassin. She was winded from using so many powers in one day. He probably was too, as he charged straight at her.

Leira had forgotten about sending Takhorr that telepathical message, but she remembered his dead. She felt claws scrape across her chest and cried out, lashing out with the claws on her back legs. She sent scars across it's stomach, but felt jaws clasp around her throat. She couldn't breath... but she still attacked, trying to snap at his face. She clawed one of his legs, but he still had his jaws around her throat.

Takhorr tore across the landscape, skidding in mud, ducking under and leaping over logs and stones, the wind and rain blasting him full in the face. He switched his course to his left, heading for the kingdom and the cliff.

As he ran along the edge of the cliff, he saw a flash of light and the vague shape of dragons. He turned around, sprinting away from the cliff until he had a good run up. He turned around, and stopped.

This was it. His wings were weak and he would likely end up falling to his death. But if he jumped hard and beat his wings the best he could, maybe - just maybe - he'd reach Leira and whoever was attacking her. And save her.

He took a deep breath and charged towards the cliff edge. He spread his small wings, throwing the water on them away and beat them a couple times. Then he reached the edge of the cliff, beat his wings as hard as he could and at the same time jumped.

What happened next he never really knew. He was half-flying and half-gliding through the air, forearms extended and beating his wings regularly. And he was traveling very fast.

He steered himself towards the fighting pair and, using the fighting techniques he had learnt, hooked a forearm around the wyverns neck, swinging himself over onto its back.

Leira felt the grasp on her throat untangle and took a huge gasp of breath. Her throat was now bleeding, and her chest was as well. Not to mention her stomach. She saw something fighting the wyvern, quickly tackling it off. The wyvern darted off, not wanting to die. Leira took a hestitant flap forward, and saw Takhorr.

"Takhorr, you s... and..."

Leira paused... the Oracle. She swallowed, wanting to choke to death. She was already, as her throat bled, but she would live. Takhorr killed her parents, and Hireny. She didn't want to kill him, instead she flew to the ground, sick and exhuasted. Not wanting him to find her.

Takhorr dropped from the sky, too exhausted to keep flapping. ...this is quite relaxing... was what he thought while falling. He slammed into the ground and lay there for a minute, panting heavily Leira... he thought. Was she okay?

Leira lay there, letting the water run over her bleeding body. Rain mixed with blood, flowing through the trees. She shut her eyes gently and heard something else falling... she looked up to see Takhorr, falling to the ground.

Takhorr staggered to his feet, trembling and wheezing. He lowered his head, and his nose brushed the ground. He picked up the scent of blood in the water, and he suddenly tensed.

Someone is injured...someone is weak... he thought to himself, evil thoughts suddenly regaining their grip on him. He sniffed the ground again. I can follow this trail...

Leira shut her eyes... wanting to sleep. Bleed to death in the rain, the wind swipe her skin away. Or the animals eat her flesh and bones. She folded her wings into her body and lay on her side, swallowing.

Takhorr slipped unhindered through the brush, his small wings tucked tightly against his side and his prehensile 'antennae' working overtime. Soon enough, he found his target - a dragon, on the ground, still alive but very weak. Like a dog, he started sniffing the limp form, roughly pawing her and searching for the perfect spot to strike.

Takhorr continued examining Leira when she moved and he came face to face with her. Shocked, he suddenly snapped back to his senses and jumped away, backing frantically into a tree. How could you succumb to those evil wills again so soon after you broke away from them? He swore under his breath, leaning back and pressing his head against the tree.

Leira saw Takhorr, injured and burnt like her. They were alike after all. She sat down, pressing against the tree incase he tried anything else. Her one red and one chocolate brown eye looked straight at him, wondering why he wasn't attacking... for now.

Takhorr stared straight into Leira's eyes, wondering why they were so strangely captivating. He stood up, still keeping again the tree. 'S-sorry...about that,' he managed to choke out. He took a couple of deep breaths. 'Did you see the Oracle?' As soon as the words had been said, he immediatly mentally kicked himself.

Leira had forgotten about the Oracle... but now she remembered. Takhorr had done it. Done everything. She was in a fit of rage when she had exited that cave, but he had saved her life. Twice. All she had did for him was bandage up his paw, and that probably made it worse. He was the only true friend she had, but her true enemy.

"Yes..."

She choked out.

"But... you've been... my only friend"

Leira wanted to kick herself, she wanted to kill Takhorr so badly. But she coudn't... she needed a friend.

(( Now for the plot where Takhorr's boss wants him to kill Leira? ))

Takhorr drew a deep breath. Now he was caught up in unfathomable depths of guilt. She knew he was the culprit, for the death of the king and Leira's parents. Maybe it would be an idea to tell her that he was working for someone else.

Lankharra gave a rough sigh. The army had been ordered and they were ready to take over the kingdom by dawn. He walked over to where he last had Takhorr; in the small entrance cave. 'Takhorr! I need you to start -' He came out into an empty cave. 'Takhorr!' No response. Lankharra growled, displaying an array of large yellowed teeth and stormed back into the hallway.

Takhorr! Where the censorkip.gif are you?! We're ready to attack at dawn!

Takhorr visibly jumped. Lankharra. Everything's....fine. he replied uncertainly.

You know what? I'm going to ask Jahia to start watching over you.

And he cut out.

Takhorr sighed. Jahia was the clan's soothsayer and was capable of seeing anything with the aid of his enchanted bowl of water. When Lankharra found out what was going on, he'd blow the roof off - literally.

Leira sniffled, rubbing her eye with one claw. She folded her sore wings into her bodies and let the rain drain her blood away from her body. She was sore and hurt so much. He had killed Hireny and her parents, caused all of these, but saved her life twice. Twice. She remembered and swallowed, biting her lip.

"You can go..."

Go? He didn't really want to go, leave Leira here and return to Lankharra. But maybe it would be the wisest thing; otherwise Lankharra might find out what he was doing. He bowed his head, turned and scrambled through the trees to the cliff, which he quickly scaled.

Lankharra stared into Jahia's bowl of water, waiting for the ripples to settle. A wispy faint picture emerged, showing Takhorr running across the landscape. 'There he is!' Lankharra hissed.

Takhorr tripped over a rock, his injured wrist catching it. He bit his lip, trying to endure the pain, and continued running.

By the time he reached the base, Lankharra was already waiting for him. Takhorr crept up to him submissively, feeling Lankharra's eyes boring into his forehead. 'I got lost in the rain...' he said, daring to catch eye contact with Lankharra.

Surprisingly, Lankharra didn't seem all that angry now. Maybe he'd worn himself out. 'Go get yourself ready, Takhorr. The rest of the army is prepared. We attack the kingdom at dawn.'

'I know...' Takhorr muttered under his breath and slipped off to get ready.

((If you like, we can time skip to dawn, when the invasion starts, and Leira might be able to catch a glimpse of Takhorr helping to lead the attack...))

(( Yup. ))

Leira had gone back to the cliff, the one where it had all started. The ivy-covered wall had now crumpled down from when she had attacked the kingdom when they ran after her, and the ledge was a little further back and weaker. She sighed, looking up at the sky. Then saw a bunched up group of... black. She squinted and saw dragons.

Coming towards her home.
