To be a Dragon's Rider

Recommended Posts

Armador growled at the girl as she tried to order him what to do. Just as he open his mouth to speak he heard the kings roar, looking up towards the mountain.

"We have a hour left to gather." He spoke looking at his rider.

"Right." Zach spoke turning his attention back to the girl. "Listen why don't you just wait a bit and listen to what they have to say?"

Agares couldn't help but get rather annoyed at the whining of that human girl. He sunk his claws into the rock in frustration as she made a scene. "Humans... such useless creatures... nothing but vermin" he sighed to himself. While all this was happening, Zen was attempting to make a break for it, both his hands scrambling the back of his neck as he tried to unhook himself from the end of Agares's tail.

Out of the corner of his eye he witnessed those desperate movements, if dragon's could form a smile he would have shown one. Without hesitation he brought his tail down, slamming Zen into the ground, before picking him up once again, this time throwing him a couple yards away, Zen's body sliding across the rugged surface. Zen groaned from the pain as he came to a stop.

With one annoyance dealt with, Agares returned his attention to the commotion below him. "Human girl... if you really want to leave... I can provide you with a quick exit..." Agares revealed his sharpened teeth to her. "After all... I am starting to get a bit hungry..you would make a decent appetizer..." Agares began to laugh. "so... what is your choice....?"

It was at that point that Treallor landed, a deep growl in his throat. He took an aggressive step toward Agares, shielding Cira with his body. His lips were drawn back as he did so, exposing rows of long and rather sharp teeth. "You will not be giving her an exit," he rumbled, before twisting around with his neck to pick her up in surprisingly gentle paws. He nodded to the other dragon and rider before launching up, into the air. Stupid girl he had. Why couldn't be have been saddled with an eager one?

Agares glared at the blue dragon, the mere fact that it would place itself between him and his rider was something Agares could not accept. Caring for a human?.. that was blasphemy in his eyes. Humans were merely tools... tools to be used to strengthen oneself and then discarded when they were no longer of any use. If a human is unable to defend itself... then that is their own problem... never should a dragon show such care for a lesser being.

Agares growled and shot a menacing glance at the blue dragon as it carried its rider away. That runt had left with his snack...

“Eat your own rider if you’re that hungry Agares.” Armador spoke with a growl as he turned to the larger dragon.

“Armador!” Zach spoke slightly shocked that he would suggest something like that. For the time that he has known his dragon he never really saw him acting even a little bit aggressive.

“What? He has no care for human’s. Look.” The blue dragon spoke as he pointed to Zen laying there. “Look at how he treats his rider. Disrespectful! He should be glad that the king wasn’t nearby, he would have treated him in the same way.”

“It’s not for you to mingle in others business like that.” Zach spoke not really sure how to handle the situation.

“Whatever.” Armador said as he just turned around walking away. Zach only shook his head and followed his stubborn dragon.

"Ha... eat this?" he said, holding Zen up with his tail once again. "This morsel has shown potential... I think I'll keep him around for awhile... there is no point in throwing away a potentially useful tool... is there?" he replied.

"As for the king... he should be well aware about my stance on this subject... if he had wanted to take action... he would have done so by now... besides... those human lovers all have a common weakness... that includes the king..."He began laughing, as he watched Armador begin to leave.

Emeral had entered the middle of the training area. She noticed the scene before here, shaking her head. Emeral sometimes just never undestood her kind. She laid down, her tail twitched as she waited for the King to arrive. Jade crossed her legs and rested her head on her hand feeling so bored that she started to yawn.

When Bryagh had finished cleaning the grime of the caves from his scales he turned back to Narcissa. The silver haired girl was staring odd into the distance, watching a flock of birds pass overhead.

Bryagh waded through the water to stand next to her and lowered himself down a little. Narcissa instantly got the hint and climbed up onto his back. While Bryagh disliked the idea of being ridden like some kind of pony, having Narcissa sit up there meant he could have all of his talon free for use and that she was safely tucked up out of harms way.

With a swish of his tail Bryagh spread his wings and took to the skies. He had heard the King's call to the training area, but there were things he needed to do first.

Armador kept walking huffing and puffing at his annoyance, his rider was jogging alongside him trying to keep up. He came to a halt when he saw some of the dragons and riders waiting in the training area, refusing to talk at the moment.

“He-hel-hello.” Zach spoke finally caught up, out of breathe and stood next to his dragon. I need to exercise more he thought to himself as he bent over still catching his breath. Armador meanwhile just lay on the ground closing his eyes trying to suppress his frustration.

Bryagh didn't know whose house it was and he didn't care. All he knew was that the occupants were out and there was no one else around. Narcissa hadn't seemed bothered by the idea of breaking into someone's house and going through their stuff, although in all honestly it was Bryagh who had done the breaking of the window and lifted her inside.

Now he waited outside for his rider to find something suitable to wear and return to him. She couldn't stay in those rags for any longer and Bryagh disliked the busy shopping district. The people there tended to fuss too much, especially over new riders.

After about ten minutes Narcissa re-appeared and clambered out the window, taking care not to catch herself on the smashed glass. Bryagh looked her up and down. Her new clothing looked a little too large and flowed around her. Combined with the silver of her hair and the red of her eye, she looked almost otherworldly. Bryah didn't know much about human fashions, but he supposed she looked okay.

Content with her choice Bryagh waited until Narcissa had climbed up onto his back and then turned away from the lonely hut by the forrest and began to tread towards the training area.

((hi guys. I've been gone for a while but nothing seemed to have change much))

Amacules raised a finger to show silence.

"I'm getting to that part, some of this takes time," she explained, as the rider and dragon slowly glowed to a soft green. The bone mending was done, now it was relief.

Soon the glowing died down and Nepula moved her tail off of Ishmael, and Amacules got up, dusting her hands. "healing spell," she said.

Nepula rested her gaze apon Agares, in time to see some of the last bits of the scene. Tools?! How dare he think that! And he thinks he is better than all the rest of us. I think he is the exact opposite Nepula thought, anger raged. She would've already given him a good fight, but would her rider approve? The wyvern shot a glance at Amacules, and one word came to her mind.

Yes.

Emeral tail twitched with anger. I never remembered the dragos being like this when I was last home, she thought to herself as she watched the dragon who nearly made a meal of a rider. If he EVEN comes near m rider. He will be paying with his life, she thought to hereself again as a deep growl started in her throat.

Jade paused seeming to hear words whispering in her head. "I can hear your thoughts!" whispered Jade to Emeral, "Can all the riders and dragons do that?" There has always been a bond between rider and dragon. So to answer your question, I would say yes. Jade blinked, "A special bond?"

ishmael sighed a relief and got up, but wobbled, a little dizzy. she shot a glance at her dragon, who seemed to be staring at another dragon in outrage. 'how dare he want to make a meal of that rider...!! i will kill him if he comes near mine. grrr... well it seems nepula is handling it well enough.' althaea thought, loud enough for everyone to hear, or so ishmael thought. she covered her ears, though that didnt help her dragons booming voice in her head. she sighed and rubbed althaea's scales under her chin. immeadiatly the dragon stopped ranting and did a purr like noise. "better?" ishmael whispered to her newfound best friend.

Agares turned his head slightly, a glimmer in his eyes as he took in the sight of the other dragon's reactions. It seemed like his point of view had hit a nerve with some of the others... nothing new for Agares, yet seeing them attempt to conceal their rage was all too pleasing for him. The mere fact that he had managed to get the other dragons to even think about him in such a way, was a victory in itself all the more rewarding since he knew that right now he was the center of attention.

Agares maneuvered his tail around so that it was in front of him. The faint red hue of dried blood stained his scales, the remnants of that whale he had earlier put out of his misery. He looked down at his claws, and in a similar fashion they were dotted red, the last sign that two dragons had once escorted him off that island.

"If you have something to say... say it.." said Agares smugly. His intention was to rile up these goody goodies... get them to succumb to their anger and strike... it would serve well to pass the time as he waited.

"To say something to you would not be very pleasant for it may end up with more action than words," Emeral said with a calm voice even though her angry was boiling within her, "Though, I left here when I was young and have not come back until now, I believe that violence is still frowned upon here, no? Even though, I would make an expection with someone like the likes of you."

Jade gulped slight as she leaned forward to whisper in Emeral's ear,"You sure you want to be threatening him?" Emeral slightly growled, "I can threaten who I please."

Amacules, knowing her dragon, looked up at her.

"go ahead, better out than in," Amacules said to Nepula, and a sly smile spread across the rider's face. Nepula looked down and smiled, then took a step forward, then back. she usually doesnt know what to say at times, since she uses more body language than verbal language, and she understood Argares' trick well enough. she sighed then mumbled one word

"coward." and a killer, arrogant, smug.... Nepula continued in her mind

When Bryagh arrived at the training area it seemed that most if not all of the other dragons and their riders had arrived. He did not join them or enter the area, but slunk unnoticed into some shadows cast by a thick copse of trees. He was unusually silent for a creature of his size, even though he was small for a dragon, and his black scales seemed to vanish the moment the darkness washed over him. Only his red eyes and the paleness of Narcissa's hair could be seen, but he wasn't too fussed about being noticed. It was however entertaining to watch the dragons interacting with their riders and each other. It was all very indelicate.

((Yes, I am aware of the irony, but Bryagh is the sort to not consider things applying to him unless he wants them too.))

((Sorry for the wait guys. I had to blow up off some steam due to worky stuff.))

Draken flew between the clouds gracefully as they waited for the time to pass; it was always something the two of them enjoyed doing together. Elena patted her dragon on the side letting him know it was time to go. Soon the dragon descended down to the earth in a circular motion like a leaf falling from a tree until the training area came into sight. The king could sense a bit of tension but this did not surprise him as he noticed some of the dragons.

Elena rested causally in her saddle watching how the king’s shadow ran over the training area causing patches of darkness. The area came closer and closer and soon she felt a different set of muscles which informed her they had landed.

The king landed on a pedestal like platform in the front of the training area, allowing him to look over the new comers. His enormous wings were still stretched out hiding Elena once again from view. Once the king sat and found his balance on the platform, he folded his wings giving his rider a chance to get of.

“Dragons and riders, come stand before me.” Draken called out in a deep voice while Elena made her way down standing in front of her dragon.
