History For generations, dragons and humans have lived alongside each other. Some dragon clans have had ties to human families since the foundation of both. Domesticated clans are headed by a human - or two, depending on the humans' marital status - and composed of whatever dragons they have adopted or bred over the years. Most clans are willing to serve under their humans and aren't interested in much beyond protecting their own territory and bloodlines, but naturally there are those that have resorted to... Darker means of controlling their dragons and annexing land, from black magic to vampire conversion. Clan Structure Usually the first dragon found by the clan-leading human or their ancestor serves as the second-in-command, but in the event of his or her death - or if they prove to be incompetent - any other adult can be appointed to the rank, usually a or the favorite of the commander's. There isn't much of a bias toward either gender for any station, as some species' females can be fiercer than the males. Generally, the oldest dragons rank the highest in all areas, from battle training to medical magic. Females who are unwilling or unable to fight for whatever reason are put aside for breeding, and are guarded more intently than any other members of the clan. Males who can't or won't fight are usually the ones assigned to guard them; they are not the best-regarded in the clan. If a clan has them, pygmies usually serve as spies. Authority tends to flow as such: #1: Heads Warlord (human) Second - in - Command (dragon) #2: Arms Soldiers Battle Magicians Intelligence Medicinal Magicians Herbal Medics #3: Non - Combat Breeding females B.F. guards Hatchlings Plot At a glance it may only seem like cause for mild concern, but over the last few weeks there have been some strange goings-on in the land: Night patrols across all islands are reporting an apparent increase in the population of vampire dragons. Lord Arikade, known for his power-hunger and easily changeable loyalties, has all but fallen off the radar. Some dragons just vanish, even in broad daylight. No one knows who to trust anymore. You, the leader of your clan, have several options: Pull your forces in and focus on defending your own borders, always having to worry about your supplies of medicine and food; Cut and run, getting your family and friends out of the crosshairs to another island while you still can, and have to struggle to adapt to an environment you may know nothing of; Or you can rally your allies, stand your ground and fight. You will attend war counsels with heads of your allied clans, discuss battle plans and strategize, and may have to chip in to Intelligence if need be. Bear in mind: Throwing yourself into the ring means playing by Arikade's rules. Any outsider attempting to join you could potentially be one of Arikade's men. Keep your friends close, both for your safety and theirs. Rules 1. Any and all pre-existing disputes between role-players will not be continued here. Resolve your problems on your own playing fields! 2. You can call in as many dragons as you want to fight for you, but try to limit the number of dragons you include to about three per post. 3. A minimum of three or four antagonists (meaning that some of you will have to RP as Vampire Dragons and/or their masters) is needed. The essence of drama is conflict, after all. 4. Alliances, rivalries and romances (meaning you can join other clans if allowed or stick to your own) are allowed and encouraged, but please, keep it PG-13. 5. No godmodding, no killing a dragon that's not yours to kill unless permitted, limit one persona and dragon clan per role-player (you can join another clan if you want, but only one clan can answer to you directly). 6. She has actually done this a few times, and has a deserved reputation as being a dragon who isn't all that nice. Contrary to popular belief, she is capable of genuine kindness. Filari is aware of her second-in-command's harsh ways, but hasn't removed her from the post because getting turned into poultry is usually a surprisingly effective deterrent to would-be offenders. Also, Ainuri is seen by many as a foil for what ever madness Filari may do. 7] Ainuri is best in offensive magic (for attacking). She's not too bad at transforming other things into something else either. She claims those two aspects of magic just about fix everything (for her). 8] Lady Filari can teleport things like herself and objects. The shorter the distance, the easier it is for her. That is the only form of magic she can competently and consistently do. She finds dark magic interesting, but hasn't touched on it at all. For her non-magical abilities, she has duped many into thinking she is a childish simpleton that isn't all there. 9] Filari is uncertain that her forces can really take on Arikade's vampires. She plans to stock up on supplies and worry about other things for now. She is strongly considering fleeing with her dragons. ~ 1] Username: Nimbus And JadeEyes 2] Warlord Name: Rakayah 3] Favorite dragon/Dragon you will be with most often: FrostShield, a male Guardian Dragon. 4] Other dragons: Reefninja, a Dorsal Dragon, who is mate to FrostSheild and a soldier; MadamBlue, a female Nocturne soldier who trains best at night, BlossomDear, who is a Breeding Female guard, and EmeraldLeap, a female Canopy Herbal Medic. 5] Territory: Their base is hidden in a grove somewhere at the heart of the Forest. 6] Dragon's personality: FrostSheild is protective, and has remained with Reefninja, MadamBlue, BlossomDear and EmeraldLeap for almost twenty years; they had been in the process of rescuing random, abandond eggs, up until now. 7] Dragon's abilities: FrostShield is proud, caring and has a strong sense of justice, and relies on Madamblue's ability for night attacks, and EmeraldLeaps extensive knowledge of herbs and remidies. 8] Warlord's abilities: Rakaya is a traveling merchant, and has a sister who often accompanies with her on her journey to gather one individual of every dragon species; she has found and raised five, so far. She is a stragitist and problem solver, but a poor fighter; FrostShield makes up for that. 9] Decision on plan of action: Right now, their trade system has been disrupted, and have taken refuge in their grandfathers old Terrae Farm dwelling, which is disused, with the old Terrae have long since become feral again. Orion and Alsia(his first dragon, found when he was 13 and he's now 23) the castle was abandoned when first found and it's large, strong and beautiful for a castle, they have fortified and added to it over the years. ~ 1] Username: ET4242 2] Warlord Name: Lady Kiacha (although those close to her will sometimes call her by her first name Cia) 3] First dragon: Lorcc a male Tri-horn wyvern 4] Other dragons: Estora, a female swallowtail dragon : Xano, male hellfire : Belle, female day glory (she is pregnant) : Pesca, male seawyrm Pygmy : Shade, female olive dragon. 5] Territory: Kiacha's little band has no territory of their own, they are nomadic, spending time here and there but never staying long. However she is most comfortable in the woods and jungle. 6] Dragon's personality: Lorcc is someone who is used to being in charge. Very commanding he takes hold of most situations with a calm level head. It is this same cool trait that makes him so deadly as an opponant. Typical of his breed he is not prone to joking, laughter, or really any other form of goofing off. It seems that the only sense of humor that he has is an almost undetectable sarcasm. As a leader his is fair if a bit harsh if he catches you doing something wrong or bad. With hatchlings and eggs however he is surprisingly tender. Against foes, unless Kiacha calls him off, he is absolutely ruthless giving no quarter and expecting none. 7] Dragon's abilities: Lorcc doesn't really have any special abilities besides the fact that he is a very good fighter, and he can breath fire. Estora is an exceptionally good flyer and so while she is not the best fighter she can hold her own through just her shear speed. Xano as odd as it seems is the battle magician of the group, while for the most part he is very even tempered in battle he can be very explosive so he channels that to cast strong spells. Belle is the diplomat and breeding female of the group, she is known to be able to talk her way out of almost any situation, her mate was a golden wyvern named Valavingi who was killed recently. Pesca is a medical magician, while he is very good at the healing arts he is very timid and often speaks with a slight stutter. Last but not least is Shade, she is another fighter who is none to fight using anything at her disposal, exspecially her poison spines, she will also guard the groups camp when needed, burrying herself under piles of leaves to keep from being seen. 8] Warlord's abilities: Kiacha's abilities are that she can firstly hear the voices of and tall to trees, however to get anything coherent from the trees she has to actually go up to one and either touch her forehead to it or press both her palms against it. Even then trees are know. To be very vague or very unconcerned either way they can be very infuriating to talk to. Second she is a very good shot with the bow making her a very deadly force at long or medium range, she is not bad at close courters and hand to hand combat however she believes that if she let an attacker even get that close she must be doing a bad job. The last thing is that Kiacha is a bit of a monkey child, once she makes it up a tree she will be gone before you make it to the first branch. 9] Decision on plan of action: Kiacha wish to keeps her small group out of as much trouble as possible however if push comes to shove she will do what she has to, to protect her clan. ~ 1] Username: greatguy 2] Name you would like to go by as warlord: G'Lant. 3] Favorite dragon/Dragon you will be with most often: Thunder's Sound 4] Other dragons: Geralze, Yog-Saggoth, Guardian in the Sky, Imperial Blue, Spirit of Ashes, Bringer of Plentiful Harvests, G'Lant Healer 5] Territory: Mountains 6] Dragon's personality: Fiercely aggressive and loyal to the clan, Thunder's Sound is the proud second-in-command. He is rightfully proud, and is the strongest dragon in the clan. He was appointed after his predecessor, Geralze, stepped down from his post, so he is not actually the oldest in the clan. 7] Dragon's abilities: Nothing special. Posted October 9, 2012 This needs much more information. First of all, you need some description of the setting. Second, you need more depth in the plot, even if it will be an open plot (the RPers decide what will happen). If you want some suggestions, I have a few questions for consideration. -What started the war? -Will there be PCs (Player-Characters) who are Vampire Dragons? -Does each RPer have to have their own clan, or may they join someone else's clan? -Is there a limit to the amount of people who can join this RP? -Where does this take place? -What time period does this happen? -Are there any major natural characteristics of the land (mountains, rivers, lakes, forests, etc.)? Posted November 3, 2012 Prologue~ Arikade slept. That's how it looked to anyone who may have passed him by, anyway. He sat with his legs crossed and his pale fingers steepled on his knees. His throne, for he only ever sat on his throne, was simply an alcove in the shape of an armchair carved into the interior of a nondescript extinct volcano. No one really knew about his hideaway. The volcano itself was too small to warrant notice by any fliers-by, and the sulfur stink of the nearby active volcanoes covered both his scents and those of his dragons, as well as their guests. The sound of pumice splintering under talons stirred him. A second or two later Draugr, his oldest foundling and right hand, padded in with his customary blank face. He stopped a horse's length or so from his master's throne-crevice. Arikade raised a dark eyebrow at the dragon's prolonged silence. "Well?" Draugr reached under his right wing and placed a pile of seven vampire eggs between them. "Wild ones" he explained monotonously, "Their mothers all fought. Most of them died." Arikade nodded. "Well done, Draugr" he praised him absently. He turned his head up to the mouth of the volcano, where the sky was beginning to lighten. "Rest now" he instructed, "The sun is rising." Draugr nodded, thanked him and turned back into the natural system of caverns under their home. Arikade gnashed his white teeth when he was sure he was alone. These wild ones were as much a hit-and-miss as the rest of the eggs that the dragons in the breeding chambers had recently laid; thirty of the original fifty had already died. More importantly, while Draugr may not have minded killing other wild dragons, there were always that many fewer females left for him to steal eggs from when he did, a fact Arikade could not for the life of him seem to drill into that iron-thick skull of his. He had plenty of females and a few males underground at his disposal for egg production, but keeping them compliant was a tremendous mental strain. Arikade was no fool; he knew he couldn't keep this up forever. In all honesty he didn't intend to, either, but raising an army took time and resources, two things he was going to run out of eventually. And with these abysmal success rates, he would have to start doing some drastically creative thinking if he wanted to see his goals to completion. Posted November 19, 2012 Rakayah: Central area with in the forest biome; day one, plan of action= Planning (^ thats just fer me to know what i'm doing, no need to copy me if you don't wanna. ) FrostSheild let out a second long, mournful bellow as he and Reefninja stared in shock and dismay at their dismantelled nest, their single egg gone. The clan's eldest dragons were distrought with dread and confusion, and thier warlord was walking amung them in a futile attempt to calm them down. Rakayah's campsite was about 20 miles north of the nearest village, and the night nearby the lonely dirt road had seen only a few merchants and traders, such as herself, but every single one was swapping rumors of raids, theives that stole eggs at night, and attempting to kill any in their way. Even the eggs parenting dragons. EmeraldLeap shook her head in regret and guilt, feeling responsable for never spotting the theif; she made shrill chirping sounds, wandering aimlessly around the campsite. BlossomDear would hop near, nuzzling her friend and clicking words of comfort. "MadamBlue should have done something!" FrostSheild spat angrilly, swining his head back and forth as he paced the clearing; Reefninjas ears drooped, and she tore her gaze from the nest. "There was nothing to be done, love, we were ignorant of the dangers that could happen." She consoled, her frills slacking on her head. FrostSheild shook his head, a mixture of complex emotions contorting his face, "There must have been something we could have done..." He paused to look back at the nest, and made a low grumbling sound from deep in his chest. Rakayah strided up to stroke his neck, "We need to find my sister and her clan." She said quietly, "They're dragons can help us." FrostSheild wrinkled his muzzle, eyeing his warlady uncertainly. The Terrae Farm was quiet with teh murmur of a breeze, a cloud blotted sky that sent shards of light falling in uneven rays; the morning would have been pleasant if the raid on their lead dragon's nest had not occured. The idea of visiting Rakayah's half sister in the mountains sounded ridiculous, since she catered to her own clan of dragons; they had not spoken to each other recently, but have accompanied each other on each others quests numerous times, resulting in small breed-against-breed feuds. The clashes had been mock, meant to only display how the other could be more awesome, but were usually difficul to break up by the warladies, as they would end up taking their clan's sides and creating entertaining competitions, displaying feats of ability and strength. That would not be acceptable at the moment, but Rakayah's half sister Lilivyn had a safer refuge, with more dragons to guard each other and keep watch. Allegeances were common in times of territory disputes, and besides, Rakayah missed Lilivyn and seeing her again would be wonderful. Frostsheild looked at the slumbering Madamblue, who was inanimate. Posted November 20, 2012 Titus was sitting at his throne, Thunderbolt at his side. He was watching the royal guards, Lark and Claw, argue over who was stronger. Titus decided to go spear throwing in the training room. "Thunderbolt, would you like to come?" he asked. Thunderbolt nodded and they headed that way. Share this post Link to post

Posted November 22, 2012 FrostSheild lead the way as Rakayah lead her clan to the north, where her half-sister lay; MadamBlue flew overhead in the night, and the rest followed on foot. They had to cross the borders of a few other Kingdoms in the Forestland, and the group hoped that they would'nt half to interact to much with other dragons. Share this post Link to post
Posted November 22, 2012 Draugr narrowed his eyes curiously at the procession and rushed back to his volcanic home. ~ Arikade was still sitting peacefully in his throne-crevice when the dragon arrived. "Sir" said dragon boomed from the doorway, "Rakayah's clan is on the move." Arikade opened his dark eyes and lifted his head. "Explain" he ordered, and Draugr nodded. "They seem to be traveling due north through their forest territory, possibly to an allied clan's base." Arikade considered this for a minute. Normally the movements of other clans didn't interest him, but no fool left his foundling eggs unguarded. "Did they have eggs with them?" "I don't know" his dragon replied, "I didn't get close enough to see." "Find Rakayah's clan, get close enough, and report your findings back to me" the man ordered, "And be quick about it!" Posted November 23, 2012 adulfi and starlight were looking over the land from a extremely high cliff top. their clan is in the deep areas in the mountains, so the view from certain areas can overlook the whole land. it was then adulfi saw another clan on the move through the forest. starlight also noticed. "we must report" she said. she turned around and took off back to the clan. adulfi looked back at the moving clan, getting the urge to fight, but followed starlight. - Amacules got back to her clan, and the guard dragons saluted. Amacules sat on her throne, if you call it one. malifica sat beside her. "what have you been doing anyway?" Malifica asked. "oh, thinking" Amacules answered, dully. malifica slinked in front of amacules. "you're worried about the vampire dragons, the strange going ons," she said, reading amacules mind. amacules seemed surprised for a moment, since malifica hardly ever read her mind, but only in an emergency. at that moment starlight burst in, with adulfi behind her. "we've got reports, Amacules," starlight said. amacules sat up. "about what?" she asked. there was nothing much the kingdom can do yet, she needs everything known. "a clan moving north, through the forest." adulfi reported. amacules gave the, more information look at the two wyverns in front of her. "from the looks of the dragons it would probably be Rakayah" starlight said. amacules thought about this for a moment. "thanks for letting me know" was the only thing she could say. Posted November 23, 2012 Titus threw the spear and broke the target to pieces. Thunderbolt practiced and vaporized 3 targets with lightning chain reaction. "We'll be prepared if we are invaded.".
