Favorite DC Event? :)

Was just wondering what everyone's favorite DC events are so far?

 

All the events have been fun, but for me the Haunted House takes the cake. I can't even imagine how much time went into fitting together all the pieces of the story, and what a story it was indeed! It was just the right brand of horror-story-but-not-traumatic that I love, haha. X'D

 

I also really loved having the dragons interact with us--how we were led to the event because our dragons were restless, that adorable pygmy that helps us out inside, and of course the grumpy guard pygmy and the poor skittery cheese dragon. ^^

Well, I haven't been doing DC for very long and the only events I've ever been on during were Valentines Day and Easter of this year. I think the Easter Egg Hunt was really fun

I haven't been around for any events unless you count Dino Cave But the Halloween one does sound fun!

 

EDIT: Wow am I stupid, I completely forgot about Valentine's Day and Easter! I have to say that my favorite was the Easter then.

The events I've been around for have been the Haunted House, the wreath decorating, the Valentine's one this year and the Easter egg hunt. I think that my favourite would have been the wreath decorating, probably because there was the added excitement of potentially winning a place in the competition and getting a prize dragon (which I obviously didn't... ) but I really enjoyed the haunted house event too! Like you said, the amount of work that must have gone into that is insane.

 

I've liked them all though. It's always exciting having an event around.

Halloween '11. First holiday event ever. Doesn't feel like it was almost a year ago. I can still remember trying to ignore my mom yelling at me to go to bed, the delay before the event actually began (that was not twelve AM sharp ), and when the forums died of lag.

I personally very much enjoyed Christmas '11. It was cute, and the stories were lovely.

Halloween is definitely my favourite event. I just love Halloween. All the spookiness, the costumes, and what not. *shivers* I love it.

I absolutely loved the haunted house!! I'm so glad we can keep going back too. That was the most fun for sure. Oh, the valentines were really fun this year, too! I loved sending them out.

 

I also enjoy the mini collecting events and the decorating. it's all fun! I love the holidays

Despite being on DC for bout 2 years, i've missed all the events. But, back then, I had no idea what I was doing, as no one wanted to tutor me ^^;

 

But I would've loved to do the haunted house event, it sounded fun.

Yes, they are free And so much fun! We've had wreath and Christmas tree decorating at Christmas, a haunted house- where we could collect leetle sprites-, Valentines that we could send to other users for Valentine's Day, and Easter Egg hunts for Easter.

I've only been here for last year's Christmas and this year's Valentine's Day and Easter. I have to say that, out of those three, I liked Valentine's the most. I run out of eggs trying to gift all the nice people I meet here; it was nice to have another means for bringing a smile to their faces. I didn't get all the cards, though. ;_;

Wreath decorating. It was fun, and I loved that everyone had a fair chance of getting a prize out of it.

I've never actually seen an event on DC... What are they like?

It depends on the event. Here's a rundown of previous events (not including holiday releases - if you like you can add this to your OP, ADP):

 

Easter 2010: Easter Egg Hunt - the first ever Easter egg hunt on DC. Eggs made specially for the event popped up the screen every now and then and when clicked would be added to an egg basket. Participants got an egg basket badge that's clickable.

 

Halloween 2010: Trick or Treat - little items popped up on the screen every so often. People who participated in the event got a little pumpkin basket badge. You can click the bucket to see the treats. The pumpkins have 3 different faces.

 

Christmas 2010: Christmas Tree Decorating - people who participated in this event got an ornament pack every day to put on their tree. Participants also received a tree badge.

 

Easter 2011: 2nd Easter Egg Hunt. Basket badge reused with a divider between 2010 and 2011 eggs.

 

Halloween 2011: Haunted House adventure. A notice appeared at the top of the main cave page saying something about the dragons being restless. Clicking the link took you to a story type thing - like those books where you pick direction and got a specific result. In the Haunted House you picked up little items along the way that were necessary to proceed. Participants got a Haunted House badge at the top of their scroll that's clickable.

 

After the Haunted House was open TJ also added in a special Rainbow Chicken to it.

 

Christmas 2012: Wreath Decorating & Storybook: Wreath decorating worked exactly like tree decorating but with a wreath and different set of ornaments.

 

The Storybook was just that - stories were written up and placed in a book. This was linked to the lottery for prizes that year; log in every day and read the story to get the ticket to the lottery.

 

Participants got a wreath badge at the top of their scroll that's clickable. I believe it leads to the storybook and the wreath both.

 

Valentine's 2012: Valentine Card event. People could choose premade cards and phrases and send them to users. Participants got a badge at the top of their scroll. Not clickable to anyone but the scroll owner, I think.

 

Easter 2012: 3rd Easter egg hunt. Same as the first two with a new divider between 2011 and 2012.

The Haunted House event was pretty rad. Very happy to see something story based - would've been more than happy to contribute but alas, these things are done in secret after all.

 

Christmas 2012 was awesome for the same reason. I also liked how the system for winning was more "randomized". I think I'm leaning towards that one as my favourite. o3o

I loved Halloween of last year the best. It was my first holiday event and Halloween is my favorite holiday. I loved exploring the old mansion and going through all of that story! I hope this next one is just as fun!

Haunted House for sure. No cutthroat competition between users, no pressure to complete it as quickly as possible-- just good fun and some nice story to add to DC's rather nondescript world. The buzz when it first came out was great =)

Unfortunately I've missed half of the events. The Haunted House event that everyone are talking about sounds fun, hope we get something similar this year.

 

Halloween 2010: Trick or Treat - "partially" participated. Back then I had no idea what were all these tiny sprites appearing on the site in random places, so I have collected only 2 items so far (a dragon hatchie and vampire teeth). I was a total newbie, after all.

Christmas 2012: Wreath Decorating & Storybook - participated, however, I was a bit late so I couldn't unlock all ornaments. The stories were lovely too, I like to go back to them and read again.

Valentine's 2012: Valentine Card event. - I have to say, this was the most adorable event ever.

Easter 2012: 3rd Easter egg hunt. - it was my first Easter event. I find collecting sprites fun so... waiting for the fourth edition :3

 

My favorite was Val' 2012 and Christmas 2012.
