Eating Disorders

Recommended Posts

Can I just say - please get help. 3=

Binging is physically and mentally unhealthy, as you're experiencing now. It's good that you've recognized it, but please ask for help and work on change. As you can tell from Shiny's post right above yours, it is hard, but it's better than this. <3

=3 thankyous

I have told the counselor I see for depression/self harm/wow I'm such a cliche, she made arrangements for me to see their ed specialist. I don't think she'll take me seriously though because, well, I'm huge.

I don't have an eating disorder, although I think i's possible I can develop one in the future, which scares me. DX I'm not overweight-I'm a bit pudgy, but I wouldn't really say it's a problem. But every once in a while I get that little voice in my head that tells me to stop eating for a few days. I'm usually able to beat it back, but there have been times where I almost listened. D: And I'm kind of scared that if I do end up with a disorder, I won't be able to open up about it, 'cause I feel like people will say guys don't get anorexia. DX

A lot of my friends like to joke around that I'm anorexic because I tend to eat very little at lunch, and I never eat meat, even though I'm not vegetarian. I'm not though and they know that, as do I. I am not too underweight, though I weigh less than a hundred pounds. I am pretty short though, so it makes sense. It's always possible to develop one, so I'm not saying it will never happen, but as of now, I don't have one.

What does bother me is when people say they wish they had an eating disorder. It doesn't happen often, but I have met a couple people who say things like that. It's a serious thing and has serious risks and consequences, not something to be taken lightly. That's what I've tried to remind the people who have said such things to me.

I had an eating disorder since I was 13 up until a little while ago. Then I got pregnant. Realizing my child's health was more important, I gave up my horrible thoughts of food. Now my baby is healthy, and I am at a good weight for 21 weeks. Sometimes, you're hurting more than just yourself with an eating disorder.

i dont have an eating disorder. recently, our Bio teacher has been having us watch a video called "Thin" to educate the class about eating disorders. my bio teacher herself had had an eating disorder when she was young. it's really sad, what it can be like to have a disorder. sad.gif i really wish luck to those with disorders, its sad what it can do to you and those around you. i think my teacher had something like celiac? anyway, it was a sad story.

Do you mean coeliac disease? That's not an eating disorder, that's an autoimmune issue IIRC.
