Ambra Neirum

Cullen was surprisingly light. Lighter than she thought that he would be. Ambra found herself flushing a deep color when he did not move, and found herself stammering when he did. "It's... it's okay, really. I mean... you didn't expect to... fall." she murmured, taking his hand and pulling herself up. His hand was firm, and his arm strong. "We should get back. I wonder if the land assassins have succeeded." she didn't even make eye contact with him. The flush was still on her face and she gazed at a wall. The sounds of battle were going on around them, but they were fading. She winced as a punctual shriek rose from the squabble, one of the Templars. She felt sorry for them sometimes, and she guessed that Cullen did as well. That was why he was praying, right? Because he felt sorry? She looked back at Cullen, forcing herself to meet his emerald gaze.

Theresa, The Killer Queen

Theresa nodded at Ceto's orders. "I will lead the land platoon. We'll move down the main street, drawing the guards away from Roberts and the others." another huge fight. She was going to slay so many men today, and she was scared. The Lord could never forgive her sins, for they were too great and too many. When Roberts leapt off the boat, Theresa followed.

Cullen nodded. "Aye." He turned, not wanting to meet her gaze for long. He walked back to the tower, feet gliding across the ground and making little noise. Heading back up he looked back to the boat. The main force was marching down the street. People were running away and he frowned. He knew they were intimidating but they were thee to help. "From the looks of it this shouldn't be too long. Whenever Roberts gets to the captain it'll be over."

Ambra Neirum

The woman was still surprised how light Cullen was. He was like a bird. But Ambra didn't notice that she was lighter than Cullen, weighing a mere ninety pounds. If a doctor were to see her today, they would say that she was underweight. However, Ambra was a fairly healthy woman. Not mentioning her persistent colds. She climbed up the tower with Cullen and watched as the crew poured over the streets. Narrowing her eyes, she leaned forward. "I don't understand why they are so afraid of us. They see us as if we're mere savages." she murmured, looking at Cullen but not making eye contact. "... Then again, there are people on board who are monsters. Did you see that man who got his hand cut off just because he cheated on a game of poker?" she shook her head. They didn't seem to need their help anymore, so Ambra took off her bow and quiver and began to play with the feathers. The grey owl feathers were from a young one, who still had down feathers. They were kind of cute. All tufty like that...

Mary

Man, she was going to miss out on the fun of fighting out there. Why did people have to take so long to heal anyway? It was stupid. She leaned against the railing of the ship and watched the pirates charge the city. She was going to sit on the ship and do nothing. Useless. "Stupid pirate with his sword… hafta sit here an' watch while everyone has fun..." she grumbled as she watched.

Theresa

She led the main force through town, the citizens parting like the Red Sea before Moses. Theresa looked tired, as though her blood blade was heavier than it really was. As though each drop of blood weighted ten pounds. One guard broke away, charging her wildly. Steel met steel, and sparks flew as Theresa seamlessly blocked his wild attack. With her free hand she pushed him down and away. He stood and charged again, but was run through. He choked out, "Demon…"

"I know."

((TMD Now's your chance to swoop in and save Aero!))

Aero lead forces on the rooftops. Mostly archers and riflemen, but a few were close combat fighters to guard the riflemen. The Templars left lots of nice vantage points and birds nests for the marksmen to secure and use to their advantage. Aero looked over himself as he took out the last guard in a nest. Blood soaked his white robes. The silk fabric dyed crimson with the violence of the battle. "Damn woman didn't allow me to pack. She better buy me a new robe. He said sheathing his blades. He sat down as a few assassin marksmen ran into the newly fortified nest, they had no break, they immediately turned and began firing on the Templars in the streets below. Two assassins approached Aero and knelt down before him. "Sir, we can support troops above, they will need you below."

"Aye, that they will." He said standing. His armor felt heavy, it was beaten and broken, his right spaulder had been shattered and left him bleeding slightly from the arm, but he had been to the medics and they bandaged it up nicely. "Well, I best be off." He said. The two assassins stood and became rigid at attention, they placed their fists over their hearts and bowed slightly as they saluted the master off. Aero jumped to the streets below and began fighting off the Templars. As more and more soldiers fell at his hands he began to attract a lot of attention. Soon enough a large detail of enemies had him surrounded. He laughed and drew his sword. "You might need a few more than that." He said. He flicked the blade and blood flew off and landed on a few of the Templars. He spat on the ground and then charged the group, slashing at every weak point he could find. One by one they began to fall, but as they fell more came to replace them. Aero was getting tired, they knew that. They began attacking in multiples. He defended as well as he could and fell back when he needed to. He turned and ran to an alley where they would be forced to move in a few at a time. "Fatal funnel boys!" He called as he slashed them down.

The Templars piled into the alley trying to best the master, but without numbers they couldn't. Suddenly the wall behind Aero was broken down and Templars were now able to get behind him. He threw a smoke bomb and climbed to the roof to escape the trap. He laughed and took a few pot-shots at them with his dragoon. He then went to another edge and jumped down to continue the fight. But before he recovered from the landing a Templar managed to get behind him and stab him in the side. Aero's vision blurred from the pain as he tried to stand. He couldn't fully and fell back to his knees. Templars laughed as they surrounded him. They insulted and mocked him as they threw rocks. One large man, a behemoth of a man approached. His armor shined in the sunlight and seemed clean of all dirt and blood. Many decorations adorned this armor and showed he was not ignorant of battle. He lifted a giant ax ready to take Aero's head off. The master tried to flee but was kicked back into place as he began to stand.

Ceto Sylvini

The battle was at its climax. Roberts had better find the captain, quick. Ceto thought this as she sliced down a Templar with her double scimitars. The blood soaked her creamy tanned face and arms, and bled through her clothes. She needed a bath. Sometimes the blood caked and it grew to be very uncomfortable in certain places. Suddenly, she heard many guards joking and laughing. Why would they be cracking jokes at a time like this? There were jeers, such as "chop his censorkip.gif*** head off" and "just do it already". Panic ran through her blood. What if... they had caught one of her crew? What if they had caught one of the townsfolk? Like an agile bird in flight, she leapt onto the rooftops and ignored the pain in her abdomen. She had to stop whatever they were doing. After a while of running, she found a flash of blond in the midst of a group of men. Aero. Stupid, stupid! What the hell was he doing?! Taking on those Templars like that. Either way, a rage, a motherly, sisterly rage, flew over her. Shrieking like an eagle, she fell upon the large man with the axe, blades and all. One met his spine while the other met the back of his head. Blood splattered onto the floor, and before the man fell she sliced open a throat of another Templar. The others did not expect an aerial attack, and they faltered before surrounding her. Ceto snarled as she fought, parrying, dodging, striking, being struck. Being struck, being struck, parrying, counterattack! Blood was running down her arms. Even though she was lithe, she was still pretty weak. Though, she was much stronger for her size.

Aero groaned but stood. His robe was soaked with his blood, so too was his hand. He lifted his sword with his strong arm and began fighting along side Ceto. "This fight is taking too long, we're getting tired and that's bad. We may need to fall back for now!" He said to her as he slashed through a few soldiers. He sent up a signal flare and several shots were fired which took out a good portion of the group surrounding them. "There, that should even the odds a bit." He said. He turned and struck a Templar with heavy armor and his sword broke in half. The Templar dropped to the ground with the other half still embedded in him. "****!" He shouted loudly as he began stabbing Templars with the sharp broken sword.

Theresa

They'd stopped charging. They were too scared by the bodies which kept piling up. Theresa moved quickly into the crowd, murdering those who had hesitated. One was Poppy. How dare she be ungrateful, how dare she. Theresa's hand shook, but it was from barely contained anger. She hated this crew. They were disobedient little rodents and deserved to die. Not Ceto, because she worked hard... when she wasn't hitting the booze too hard. They had two censorkip.gif s on board. Robb and Mary hadn't earned it. One of the Templars charged from behind, knocking Theresa down. As her sword clattered to the ground, Theresa turned around. The oaf dared to strike. Her hands were a blur, moving so fast that the Templar barely had time to sidestep the strike before Theresa rebounded and landed a huge gash on the brute's back. The armor mostly prevented that, but once Theresa had her sword between the plates, she slashed off the leather hooks. The oaf realized that he was defenseless.

"Start praying." Theresa commanded, and the brute knealt and clasped his hands together. "See you in hell." A flick of the sword and the man's neck was slashed open so he would bleed on the streets. She placed her foot on her vanquished foe's back. "Next?" she asked, smiling. The smallest twitch on the side of her mouth became a smirk. She could see how much her father enjoyed this. She was surrounded by idiots, and she had a deadly weapon. She pushed forward even farther, cutting the lower guards to ribbons and reaching the center of town.

"If anyone's gonna hide in the shadows, they better run before I catch you. 'Cause I'm not holding back anymore!" she screamed to no one. This was great. She didn't have to be anyone's image of a 'good girl' anymore, she didn't have to be anything but a deadly assassin. The silence reminded her of the what she'd created around herself.

She had a family, a real one that wasn't needy or incompetent. She had a job, and she was respected enough to enjoy not being sinful. She was a virgin, she was happy. Theresa laughed. This was the best she'd felt in weeks, even if she felt as though she was losing her grip on reality as she watched the world spin around her. Oh, someone had taken up her offer and shot her. That really hurt. It went through her shoulder, and as she rose, she could hear the man drop the gun. He had hit her left shoulder, and now he was scared. She could be dying, but most screamed in pain.

Theresa killed the man with a side swipe, nearly severing his head from his shoulders. She had work to do, and she'd be fine. The bullet went all the way through, and she could stop the bleeding right now. She tore off a bit of her skirt, using it as a makeshift bandage. On to the next portion of her assault.

Roberts had been running the entire duration. Cullen's archers and Aero's riflemen cleared a nice path for him. The ground troops were massing down the steers and he knew he was moving too slowly. Picking his pace from a run to a sprint, the old man found himself at a door. A thick door. A door that no man was meant to get through.

So he went around it.

He managed to hoist himself up to the rooftops, a chore for him. But he did it. Breaking in a window he slipped into the building. It was obnoxiously ornate. He had the urge to just steal as much as he could and leave, but good men were being injured on his watch. He wouldn't have that again. Slipping through the building as quietly a he could, he almost got past a guard when he saw Roberts. He couldn't speak for long with a machete in his voice box, but the pirate had to move faster. He could hear shots outside and knew fighting was getting heavy. Finally he got to one last door and kicked it down. The captain, a slovenly and narcissistic man, was eating at his desk while his men fought. Roberts burst in and slammed his head against the silver plate before him until his face was bloody. Still alive, he was dragged, with no ease, to a balcony overlooking the town square. It was high enough to be seen farther, though.

"LOOK!" Roberts roared at the top of his lungs, voice bellowing. "LOOK AT YOUR CAPTAIN AND GOVERNOR!" He was held up be Roberts, who was holding him by the hair. "LOOK AT HIM! HE'S WEAK!" He kicked the man in the gut. "AND HE IS STUPID! HE ATE A MEAL OFF SILVER WHILE HIS MEN FOUGHT TO REPEL MY CREW! LOOK AT THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A MAN!" His voice was starting to echo. "WE CAME HERE TO RID THIS TOWN IF HIM AND HIS LIKE!" That was when Roberts smashed the Captain'd head into the stone railing, hard enough to crack skull. "ANY WHO WISH TO DEFEND HIS NAME, PLEASE COME UP HERE! I WILL PERSONALLY SEE YOU DEAD!" He threw the body over the side and waited for the slam. Roberts began to laugh, and it became hysterical. It was a sickening sight to see and have watched.

Exactly what he wanted.

Ceto Sylvini

Ceto snarled again at Aero's words. "I will not back down! This is my home!" she screamed, slashing open a man's neck.

Garrett Hemsworth

Garrett was watching Mary. She seemed to be frustrated because she couldn't find due ro her injuries. "Don't worry," he said, walking to her and leaning on something. "You'll be able to fight soon."

"Ceto, listen to me. I admire your courage and desire to fight! But look at your men, they're tired, they're injured! We can't continue for long. I'm not saying surrender and retreat! I'm saying let's fall back to a safe place where we can regroup and rest until the next attack!" He shouted at her. He understood her desire to protect her home, but he was not going to allow her to uselessly kill off men who could otherwise live if they weren't so tired. He wanted to help her but her anger was getting the better of her and he could obviously see that. "Please Ceto, be that leader before I have to make you be that leader!" He said continuing to fight. He fell to his knees again as his wound surged with pain. He was clutching his wound with his left hand, it was still bleeding heavily, and fighting with his right. He tried to hold back the men while on his knees which was a difficult thing to accomplish.

Ceto Sylvini

Ceto was beginning to becoe claustrophobic. There were so many Templars, attacking and blocking. She listened to Aero, and, grudgingly, she understood. They had basically won the battle, but the Templars were putting up more than a fight. A glower flashed up at Aero. There were no words coming out of her mouth, but all of the words were on her face. It was obvious that she was not happy. Not happy at all. Taking her scimitars which were drenched with blood, she swept them around like a scythe. This led the Templars to stagger, opening up a window for them to escape. Ceto growled as she motioned toward the top of the building. There was where they could run to. In a great effort, she jumped up to the roof and waited for Aero. He had to hurry. If he didn't, he would be swarmed by the Templars. Ceto peered down at him, and then stood. She screeched a bird's call. Regroup and rest.t

Cullen heard the call. He understood and gave his own. A low whistle which suddenly became high. Understood. "C'mon." He told Ambra as he strung his bow over his shoulders. He darted down the spiraling stairs and emerged on the roof line they'd followed. He stayed cautious, though. He'd heard Roberts' shouting but the guards didn't pull out. They had to. They'd struck like a eagle. Now they had to soar away. One guard saw him as he exited the tower and fired a rifle, which caused Cullen to flinch, and the bullet missed vitals. He took it in the upper, outer thigh but adrenaline was pumping and he killed the man in anger. He immediately requested that the man be accepted into God's kingdom, like always. He waited for Ambra and, clutching his leg, limped back along the roofs, speed the goal. Letting himself down the side of the roof slowly, he landed awkwardly and fell to his knees. Damnit. Ship was right there. Forcing himself up and to the ship, he collapsed leaning against the far railing. He wasn't suffering horribly but he knew walking would be rough in the coming weeks. He hoped Robb and his archer got out safely. He hoped that his wound was the worst. Blood was pooling and lacking Robb, he a sacrificed his cape to act as a bandage.

Ambra Neirum

The piercing screech sounded through the winter air. Ambra perked, and looked over at Cullen. The man was already moving, and she followed. Leaping onto the rooftops, she followed him at full speed. It was only then that she saw the blood on the rooftops. The sound had happened a few seconds before, but she thought that it missed. Ambra was proved wrong when she saw him limping. Great. Eyes wide open, she leapt off of the rooftops and ran over to him. Blood was already pooling under his leg, and she skidded to her knees. "Calm down. Don't move too much. It seems to have stuck in your thigh." she murmured, glancing up at him. Pulling up his pant leg, she saw the entry wound. Hissing under her breath, she shoved her hand into her pouch and pulled out some pliers. They were clean, as always. It was a risk to leave them dirty when an emergency like this could happen. "This is gonna hurt a bit, okay?" she told him, beginning to dig around the wound for the bullet.

Cullen didn't expect Ambra to come to his rescue. Most assassins knew enough medicinal practices to get by on a solo mission, which wasn't much, but she was prepared. "Alright." He said as she started digging out the bullet. His grip on the rail tightened until his knuckles were white and he but his lip. "Oi thought 'ye were a historiun'?" He asked, reverting to the simplest tongue he knew in his time of pain. "Should I be trustin' 'ya in m'leg?" He was joking but it was really to ignore the metal swimming in his flesh than anything. The wound was starting to burn. "I 'dun wanna be bleedin' out from the inside, 'ye know." He had relative faith in her. It wasn't like he'd trust her with his life, but there was a trust present between members of their creed.

Ambra Neirum

A small smile crawled over her face as she listened to Cullen. He spoke Italian just like her father did, which brought warm memories. She remembered the brown haired, brown eyed figure laughing as he tickled her, weeping as her mother died. As they left Ireland. For a moment, she missed the long, rolling mountains and the crisp icy creeks. Then, Cullen spoke more. Her smile, which had faded, spread once more. "Just because I'm a historian doesn't mean that I can't heal. I know more toxins obtain from plants than anyone I know." she grinned more. "Along with the healing aspects of the plant." she pulled out the bullet, wincing. It was a big one, with some pieces of meat hanging off of it. It had really gone in deep. "There's the bugger. Now, I'm going to wash out your wound and close it up with stitches, okay?" she placed the pliers and bullet to the side and removed a small rag and a small flask of water from her bag. Soaking the rag, she wiped away the blood that had run down Cullen's leg and the blood that surrounded the gouge. Ambra stitched it up without a second thought. "There. All done."

((I should specify but when Cullen speaks thick like that it's English with the Irish accent. His Italian is quite proper.))

Cullen winced when she ripped out the bullet. Oh God it hurt more coming out than in. She cleaned it up and he kept his eyes shut, medicine burning. Cleansing fire. "I suppose one of those books must be medical, no?" He asked, switching back to Italian. "Personally, I prefer a good fiction. Encyclopedias are great and all but there's no draw. No pull to read it." That Shakespeare fellow was quite good, he thought. "But regardless, thank you." He smiled softly back at her. "I think I might have made it, but I probably wouldn't be comfortable." He'd have had to wait for Robb. Good things were said, though. "Glad I picked you to come with me. What would I do if I brought Malcom?"

Ambra Neirum

The red haired woman smiled once more as she stood up and wiped her hands on her robes. She would have to wash them later on. "Fiction, eh? Not a fan of fact? Like the imaginatives. Like Shakespeare." she sighed, looking over at the city. There was a fire starting somewhere in the small town, probably from something someone knocked over. She sighed again, raising an eyebrow at the rest. "You're welcome. And you'd probably be crying for help as you bled to death. Malcolm is a great archer and all, but he isn't a healer. Robb is, but he needs work with his stitching and patience with the patients. Has a very bad temper, that boy. Once I saw him smack a man because he was whining too much from a gash on his arm. It was true it was kind of annoying, he was screaming as if his arm was chopped off instead of simply sliced." she giggled, and fell silent as two figures appeared in the distance. As they neared, she could see it was Robb and Malcolm.

"Where's the captain?" Robb asked, raising an eyebrow and looking at Cullen.

((Nah. That one was on me.))

"I don't know." Cullen said. "We were the first back. I imagine she's on the way but I'm in no shape to look for her." He stood up and leaned heavily on the rails. "If she doesn't come back in fifteen grab two men and head out for her. Otherwise we might be out one captain." Theresa was great and all but he thought Ceto led well. Replacing her was a gamble, like anything was. "For now though, just cover people coming in. I don't want anyone getting killed because they weren't running fast enough." It was weird having remote power again. He'd never ascended to master while in Ireland, and Sarah had never listened to him. Now though, until someone who outranked him boarded, he was head pirate.

Aero managed to make it back with everyone else and immediately sought out medical attention. He felt like he was only moments away from passing out. "Someone help me!" He called out in an exhausted and broken voice. His robe was now heavily stained with blood and dirt. His Master's cape was torn and tattered. He looked around as his vision faded into blackness and he collapsed upon the ground, hand still clutching at his wound.

Robb Dubois

Robb nodded at Cullen, knowing that he was right. They had to stop the swarm of enemies coming in at them. The boy strung his bow and shot down some Templars, watching with content at his marksmanship. The arrows found their marks on the foreheads, the stomachs, and in the chests of men. The blood was pooling in front of him, but he didn't mind. He wasn't squeamish. It was the fluid of life, not some disgusting thing that came from who knows where. Suddenly, Aero went up to the ship. He seemed mortally wounded, especially from a gouge in his side. Ceto followed, staggering onto the planks of the deck and swaying on her feet. Cursing, Robb stopped his assault and ran up to them. At least Ceto was up on her feet, which meant that Aero was in more danger. He was passed out from lack of blood. Robb immediately got to work, locating the wounds and cleaning them and stitching them up. Aero would be fine as long as he was in his hands. Robb didn't gloat much, but he considered himself a gosh darn good healer. That was why he wanted to be a surgeon. It was his calling.

Mary

"Yeah, but the first fight between pirate ships and I manage to get injured…" Mary mumbled into her arm. Sure, Mary wasn't particularly bloodthirsty, but wanted to fight with the others. "Hey, are those…" Mary started before ducking down below to avoid a fight. She wasn't quite healed up enough to start attacking other people. Not to mention, those grunts that weren't nearly as armored as they could have been, but their armor was still enough that Mary didn't want to fight with a bad shoulder. Not to mention that she didn't want to visit Robb again. He had enough problems without her intruding on his space…

Theresa

She head the whistle and reluctantly moved back towards the ship, moving slower than before, compensating for her shoulder. She still made it in time to duck below the railing. "Sorry I'm late, twenty thugs ganged up on me after shooting me. They're dead now, of course, but I am afraid that we still had to retreat. Roberts should be along shortly I suppose, I did not see him along the way." Theresa explained to anyone willing to listen. "I'll start helping those who wish for medical aid, it'll be just something to tide them over until Robb can see them, but it is better than nothing." she shrugged, and continued to ignore the pain in her shoulder, since she'd been through worse long before it wasn't a big deal. Still hurt though, but at least the bullet had gone all the way through and someone didn't have to dig it out.

Robert "Robb" DuBois

Robb cursed as the enemies began to swarm their ship. He raised his bow and shot a few down before he was overwhelmed. Robb was shoved, and, regaining his balance, sliced up the back. He howled in pain, sinking to the floor. He could hardly move, and now the Templars were looming over him.

Mary

She heard someone scream in pain. Had they made it into the ship? She climbed back onto the deck, and saw Robb. Templars were swarming in and he was clearly in a lot of pain. Both hands moved to their weapon, the left grabbed the dagger and the right had the cutlass. She swung at the nearest Templar, chopping her way to Robb. She'd finally made it to him, and managed to focus the Templars in front of her. "Don't come any closer!" she yelled. "Don't you touch him!" she held her sword out in front, keeping the dagger behind her for more flexibility. She hadn't been trained in how to use these, but she had used a broken sword and her other hand before. This was roughly the same. Hopefully she wouldn't have to use the dagger, because then her own wound would open up and start bleeding. She lunged first, breaking the standoff. The man in front of her parried her blow, but she had his attention now. Maybe the other Assassins would come help, she couldn't fight this man on her own. He shoved her, and she stumbled back, but returned by slashing again at the man, but his arms were busy with the sword, keeping it back. With Mary's left arm free, she struck like a snake, stabbing the man through the helmet and pulling back quickly. The rest backed away, unsure if they wanted to fight anymore.
