Disabilities?

Recommended Posts

Everyone who has PTSD, please make sure its not Borderline Personality Disorder. I was misdiagnosed with it for 15 years sad.gif The symptoms are about the same, but it takes a specialist to verify the difference, though not much they can do about it with me too many different disorders that any meds counteract.

Interesting, I didn't realize that.

I was diagnosed with bipolar in a psychiatric children's hospital, and they wish-washed for about a week trying to determine whether it was that or borderline.

I've never heard PTSD and borderline being similar, honestly. Not to say it doesn't exist, because a quick google search showed me it did.

But I've been clinically diagnosed PTSD from a car accident in 2007, and then I've basically self-deduced that I have PTSD symptoms that are reoccurring because of a relationship gone bad. I'm still wary of riding in cars with others, but it's gotten much better.

That's good to know, though!

I never heard of it till mandatory visiting a shrink, it was interesting to learn about. It's why seeing everyone self diagnosing themselves, I had as well due to being raped when I was 14, talked to a doctor they verified it as well along with severe bullying in school. Though recently when correctly diagnosed though just talking with a profession that specialized in it, they caught the differences.

I don't have a disability myself, but my mom has M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis) it's also referred to as Chronis Fatigue Syndrome, but that name isn't really as accurate and it makes it seem less than it really is? Her energy is really limited, and she does has problems sleeping (a combination of hormone imbalance and prescriptions and stuff). She put a lot of time she could have used for getting better to raising my brother and I instead, and she finally has some time to start focusing on her now that we're older and can be more independent. There are some days where it takes all her energy just to wake up and she's just stuck on the couch for the entire day. There is also a lot of mental strain as well, anything is tiring, she has limited reading and often has trouble coming out with the correct words. I can't really explain everything, so if you're interested you can look it up.
