Shakespeare for Love!

Recommended Posts

Wow, that6 is great! I like the Idea of uniting german and english versions - although I'll stick with english only, I think.

I've finished hunting for Blusangs and Tsunamis for 154, I have all I need for this smile.gif

Sonnet you want to do: 47 (haven't decided English or German, or combined)

Which Dragons do you need: crimson flare pygmies

I already have a Shakespeare theme running through my crimson flares so this would be a neat addition to that! It's going to take me a while to start though as I'm working on a mint lineage as well, but I just thought I could at least get my dibs in on the sonnet.

English: http://www.shakespeares-sonnets.com/sonnet/47

German: http://pages.unibas.ch/shine/Sonette1#47

P.S. That horse is amazing! Well done! cool.gif

I still can't decide what to pair with mints for sonnet 130. Something common and not overly graceful would be great, but I can't find anything that doesn't look clashing with mints (at least to my eye). None of these really look convincing to me. sad.gif

I may end up having to go for balloons, even though I really don't like them much. But their style does fit nicely with mints... *ponders some more*

(I briefly considered using all different breeds and adapting their colors from the lyrics, which intrigued me until I figured out that I can only choose freely for the CB generation, and when it's all done it just looks messy. xd.png)

Sorry for the long delay, I've taken a hiatus from the forums.

I finished my sonnet - not on time - but DH just loved the little geeky love-message. Thanks again for the wonderful inspiration, DragonLilly, and thank you to everyone who helped me get the CB dragons to do this. It took quite a while, I had a few refusals and even more "disinterested" dragon pairs, but now it's done biggrin.gif :

Sonnet you wanna do: Sonnet XXV (25)

Which Dragons do you need: Ochredrakes! Because they're not all regal and impressive... they're beautifully common.

Sonnet you wanna do: 19

Which Dragons do you need: Brimstone, all the ones I have are CB already and in pairs~ <3 plus they somehow call me for this sonnet.

I was randomly lured in to this thread by its title and decided to give it a try. o,o Time tends to flee from me so I shall eternally capture it in a sonnet!

My sonnet is finished! Although my dedication dragon is still an egg. But done at last, despite several refusals along the way.

Sonnet XXV

Let those who are in favour with their stars

Of public honour and proud titles boast,

Whilst I, whom fortune of such triumph bars

Unlook'd for joy in that I honour most.

Great princes' favourites their fair leaves spread

But as the marigold at the sun's eye,

And in themselves their pride lies buried,

For at a frown they in their glory die.

The painful warrior famoused for fight,

After a thousand victories once foiled,

Is from the book of honour razed quite,

And all the rest forgot for which he toiled:

Then happy I, that love and am beloved,

Where I may not remove nor be removed.

Dear me - so many beautiful Dragons of Poetry !

I'll have to start a sonnet of my own, and once it's finished I'll appear on all your doorsteps, begging for an exchange. Hopefully this way I'll manage to get a library of Shakespeare's sonnets in dragon form.

(Why do I always fall for long term projects... ?!)

Greetings,

Lantean_Pegasus

Must get mine started...

Thank you!

Of course it's beyond a mess on my scroll, lol, due to all those refusals. I didn't actually do the naming until I got my final egg, because the silly beasties were that uncooperative and I kept having to switch pairings. But I'm pleased with how it turned out in the end.

My sonnett is finished!!!

Look! wub.gif

You'd think with these breeds it would have gone faster, but even mints and balloons are sadly not above refusals. xd.png

Yes those two breeds can be tricky too. xd.png

Is there a way that I could request a sibling to it? It looks so pretty!

Edit: Guess I will pm you as you seem to be gone for a while. xd.png

Sonnet XXI:

So is it not with me as with that Muse,

Stirred by a painted beauty to his verse,

Who heaven itself for ornament doth use

And every fair with his fair doth rehearse,

Making a couplement of proud compare

With sun and moon, with earth and sea's rich gems,

With April's first-born flowers, and all things rare,

That heaven's air in this huge rondure hems.

O! let me, true in love, but truly write,

And then believe me, my love is as fair

As any mother's child, though not so bright

As those gold candles fixed in heaven's air:

Let them say more that like of hearsay well;

I will not praise that purpose not to sell.

I'm not sure if anyone's still checking this. Anyway, I think I'll PM some of you for some Sonnets trades after I finish mine. laugh.gif

I better go hunting and breeding now.

Edit: Haha, I didn't even notice. I think I was hungry when I wrote that. laugh.gif
