Favorite Breed Combinations!

I recently got my hands on a few nice CB dragons and I'm at a loss as to what to do with them. So, I figured I'd get everyone's take. Which breed combinations do you like the most?

 

 

I have a new CB ice, for example, and I'd like to make it into a checker or stair-step lineage, but with what? White? Royal Blue? I need suggestions!

 

 

What about magma? I'd assumed my magma should mate with an ember, but I've also seen a lot of people mating them with reds. Do you have a different preferred combo?

 

 

What other combinations do you love to see in a lineage? Please, bombard me with ideas!

 

 

Edit: I'm sorry if this is in the wrong spot - I couldn't decide if it was a breeding or trading question, since it can apply to both situations.

I have a rough time making anything with Trios. It's just to hard to catch the amount I need! Lol I have seen a lovely Ice x Pink lineage and I think they also look good with Spitfires. I think Magmas look lovely with Reds. But I think a Red Nebula would be something different that might not look to bad.

 

However, I am in love with Moonstones x Blue Nebulas! I am working my way up to 5th gen. If this little bugger had been a Nebula I'd have been finished! Oh well, trying again next week!

Ice x White looks nice, but seems to be kind of a "standard combination". The same for Magma x Red.

 

Why not try Ice x Magi, Harvest, Pillow or even Pebble (like this)? Or Magma x Moonstone?

 

I think non-standard combinations are often surprisingly appealing.

I think ice/tan ridgewing is a beautiful combination.

 

I don't really care for magma/red. Magmas with whiptails or male hellfires might be interesting (or with autumns, but it's not the season). Not bad with harvests, either.

Magis do look great in lineages, don't they? I recently spotted a swallowtail x magi checker and thought it was beautiful!

This is what Ice x Royal Blue looks like.

 

Personally, I like combinations with a little bit of variety in the colors. Ice x Royal Blue does look nice, but I'd like to see what an Ice x Pink looks like.

 

Colors with contrast are fun. (The dragon is mine, the rest of the lineage is not, though).

I think Ice and white look very nice together, even if it is a quite common mating. Maybe you could try you ice with something really different, like reds or sunstones

Great thread idea! Some suggestions:

 

EDIT: I personally love Ice x Pink, or Ice x Winter. But agree with others that lineage with contrast really do stand out--Ice x Gold Wyvern, perhaps? And as for Magmas, I actually like how they look paired with Nebulas--something about the bright color combos appeals to me. Hope these suggestions help!

 

And lovely combos from others above, I'm getting inspired for some projects. Some of my favorites:

 

Tangar x Marrow: I love how the sprites' poses match so well, and the stark contrast between colors really makes the orange / green of the Tangars pop.

Fog x Skywing: like a poster above mentioned, the color contrasts are what grab me.

Nebulas x pretty much anything: One of my pride and joys, I love combining lineages (with the help of other breeders!) and combining multiple breeds together together with complementary colors, in some kind of pattern.

Shadow Walkers x any Holidays, really. Can't get enough of them, and I can't wait to get up to 2nd gen Shadow Walkers this Halloween!

Like sunsongs and bright pinks and nebulas and waters. ;-; So many things to breed, so little time.

There's a lot that look nice together, but my absolute favorite is probably Marrow x Magma. I think they look spectacular together, though it's not really a lineage you can get up and go create on a whim.

 

Couple others include Magi x Thunder (as was mentioned), Rosebud x Thunder, Magma x Hellfire, Ice x Nocturne, and Ice x Marrow. I do like the trios in lineages, yes.
