Interesting Lineages you didn't realize you had

so back when I first join DC, I didn't really give a darn about lineages but I have been having fun going back and looking at some of mine. I have noticed some neat patterns in some, and a surprising pedigree in others.

 

For example I realized all my splits are completely purebred! My frozen female hatchling is actually and 8th gen predigree split! One downside is she has a weeee bit of inbreeding but its still cool to open it up and see a bunch of splits =3

 

Or a fun one was with my magic dragon, when I bred him to a water female I realized that he's a second gen, and his mother was a water dragon *giggles* too bad they didn't successfully breed hehe XP

 

so in looking back, did you find anything neat you didn't realize you had?

It can be interesting to take a closer look at lineages after a while, but as for Splits... As far as I'm aware, they can't be anything but CB or purebred. Splits only breed with each other.

Him. Just recently, I started giving catalog surnames to my dragons, so I started browsing my reds for inbreeding, etc. I was actually surprised that he was decent stairstep.

One of my very first dragons was a fourth gen Thuwed. And I froze it because I preferred the hatchling sprite. Still kicking myself over that one.

Yah I have noticed I froze some neat hatchlings! I never really thought about lineage when I was still new, just what dragons looked cool

Looking back, I still want to kick myself. I froze all my cb blacks and kept all the really fugly inbred ones until adulthood.

 

I USED to have this cute little winter hatchie, frozen, who had a seasonal parent named "I Want to Disown my Parents". So I looked at the parents, who happened to be named "OMGBTWBBQHAX" and x "LOOOLLLOLOLLLLOLOL" and I named the little hatchie "I Want to Disown my Grandparents" in agreement.

 

Unfortunately, that was back in 2009, and today the lineage is all unnamed. So Im just using the winter for name holding.

yah I had some really awesome names, some I stalked for months to get that I lost while I was away =( I didn't know they would be cleared @.@;;

One of my Magmas is a lovely stairstep Tinselkin and I found a 2nd gen Neotropical once that had a Guardian mother. That one I continued and I now have a fourth gen.

These two stripes: #1 and #2. I picked them both up on the AP, and I had no idea that they were from the same person, with very similar (yet non-inbred) lineages. Now they make gorgeous babies (when they actually choose to mate) and they're my favorite stripe couple.

That's actually just like my stripe's lineage here.

I can't find another one anywhere, though. Cool that you did!

also found another one =3 I knew that one of my female silver's was a CB, because I grabbed her form the cave. But I didn't realize I had another CB female and CB male oh how fun it is going back to look for lineages hehe

those are neat, though this thread is mainly about older ones =3 like if you got a dragon back when you didn't pay attention, or got it just for it's breed and didn't look, then realized how nice it was =3

I adopted this Canopy boy for sprite completion, and then found out he was second-gen from Snow Angel.

Also, the only Gold I had for aaages (until I accidentally ninja'd someone's hatchie in a trade and then named it before checking LIT) is CB. As are the two Silvers I had.

It took me a long while after the lineage pages were introduced for me to realise my first silver egg (which was a gift <3) was fourth-gen and its offspring thus Actually Worth Something [TM]. I think that's about the point I started to take an interest in breeding for someone other than myself.
