Posted May 30, 2013 Rotten fruit was also thrown at actors if the play was very bad. The practise started in Ancient Greece I think. Actually rotten fruits I think that began at midleages. In ancient Greece theater was a celebretion for Gods, not an entertaining like now. Into a society religous like this, interrupting such a holly ceremony would mean exile. Don't forget that Socrates damned to death with hemlock, only because he was "corrupting" the youth with new ideas and "Gods". And my favourite fruit is watermellon (especially at summer with white cheese), strawberies and tangerines. Share this post Link to post

Posted June 9, 2013 Strawberries, Watermelon, and Raspberries. Many fruits are too sweet for me (peaches, persimmon) and I really don't like most melon. It's the tannins or the acid or something but I hate that bitter, plasticky aftertaste after a canteloupe. Muskmelons are slightly better but it still tastes like I've been sucking on a shoe.
