Posted June 26, 2012 Personally, I think pie is better. But if those are the only options, I like pi. Dunno why. More useful? Share this post Link to post

Posted March 14, 2013 Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (today). The numerical date is 3/14, which are the beginning digits of Pi. Pi Day specifically begins at 1:59 PM, continuing the next few digits to 3.14159... Mant people also use today as an excuse to celebrate pie Did you know about Pi Day, and if so, how did you celebrate it? Share this post Link to post
Posted March 14, 2013 Yep, I know about Pi day. It would be even better if it was the year 2015, (3/14/15), or even better, the year 1592! (3/14/1592) I do not do anything special for Pi day, unfortunately. Next year, I'll ask my mom to make a pie. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 14, 2013 At school we measured the circumference and diameter of pie, found the ratio between the two, and then ate the pie. We also had a memorization contest--- my friend managed to memorize 69 digits. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 14, 2013 My household celebrates Pi day with pie. We got some black cherry pie and peach pie. Nomnom. If we hadn't forgotten, we'd have made pot pie, too, but we did. Here's a delightful Buzzfeed article about Pi Day and lovely celebration suggestions. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 15, 2013 I am a teacher and the whole circle thing is one of our standards. My kids have been looking forward to Pi day ever since March began. We've been measuring the circumferences of many circles (wheels we rolled along the ground) and dividing that by the diameters to notice a pattern and learn about constants. We have been collecting Pi trivia (Spock used Pi to "kill" an enemy computer when it was told to compute Pi to the last digit). Today I brought in pies for the other teachers (savory as well as sweet) and shared out our Pi trivia. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 15, 2013 Each year on this date me and 314 of my friends try to round pi to it's 314th decimal by memorization. Those who fail are unfortunately killed. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) At school we measured the circumference and diameter of pie, found the ratio between the two, and then ate the pie. We also had a memorization contest--- my friend managed to memorize 69 digits. A friend of mine had been practicing for about a year. She memorized like a hundred. My favorite food is pie. Our tradition is to bring pie to school and "stuff your FACE in it!" PS. I will eat all your pie. Edited March 15, 2013 by Dragonshadows Share this post Link to post
Posted March 15, 2013 Happy Pi-day. \(^w^)/ Sadly, I have no pie, but to make up for the lack of pastry I shall play some TWEWY and face off against Minamimoto. Share this post Link to post

In my opinion, all of us should attempt to get PieMaster to post here. And then treat us all to pie. Edited March 15, 2013 by Dragonshadows Share this post Link to post
