Holiday Clutch Size - Unofficial Statistics

Recommended Posts

I used Search and didn't find anything like this, though I found one somewhat similar, asking about Vampire Bite success. tongue.gif

So, my question is....

How many eggs do you usually get per Holiday breeding? As I understand it, you can get anywhere from one to four eggs per Holiday breeding. So, how is your luck with that? biggrin.gif

EDITED TO CORRECT!

You get only one egg except for holidays.

It's almost impossible to not at least four, max five.

I'm not sure what Ashes is thinking, but it's impossible to get more than 4 eggs in one breeding.

My holiday dragons generally give an average of 2. My Snow Angels gave more eggs than my Yulebucks last year, over all. If I remember right I got a total of 3 Yule eggs from my 2 Yules and 5 or 6 Snow Angel eggs.

From talk around the forum and IRC, I got the impression that Hollies gave the average of the fewest eggs, and Snow Angels the highest average. That's rather opposite of what we'd like to see, since more people have Snow Angels, and few people have Hollies.

I don't have any Holidays to breed at the moment, so I am mostly asking out of curiosity.

Thank you for the input, Fiona. I couldn't really find anything about the holiday breeding directly (just that you can only breed them for their own species during their holiday) so I was curious. smile.gif

I searched and couldn't find a topic just for holiday breeding results, either.

Weelllll Two of my pumpkins were stubborn. One did not produce and the other only threw one egg.

Last year, my Yules did not produce any eggs either. dry.gif

Ashes may have gotten confused due to the issue that went on the past Halloween where bred holiday eggs were auto-abandoning from the scrolls of the people who caught them. From what I could tell TJ resolved the issue by making more eggs from the clutches in question, so that the scrolls that lost the eggs as well as the new scrolls they were on, all had eggs from the same clutch. I've seen one that has come from what is now a 7 egg clutch, but was probably initially a 4 egg clutch.

My last years Snow Angel results are:

Dragon 1 produced 1 egg only.

Dragon 2 produced 2 eggs.

Each of my Christmas dragons has 1 Christmas offspring. Halloween was higher, each dragon having 3-4 eggs. Of course, that egg trade glitch during Halloween led to my pumpkin having 8. xd.png

Well, my first Holiday was Halloween '10, so I didn't really breed any yet...

But my one Marrow on this Halloween only bred me two.

Hey, I have a different question. Sorry if wrong thread.

As there's a limit of 2 christmas dragosn per scroll - do eggs get auto abandoned?

This marked my first year of actually breeding holidays because I only just started getting holiday dragons last year.

My stats so far:

Marrow x stripe = 1 egg

Marrow x stripe = 3 eggs

Pumpkin x pygmy = 2 eggs

@ above: If you have two holiday dragons and breed them, you can select up to one egg to hold onto. That egg will remain on your scroll for a max of 30 minutes before it's auto-abandoned too if you don't rehome (i.e. teleport) it to someone else. The rest will auto-abandon upon breeding. Oh, and this applies to just personally bred eggs. I believe you can't pick up holiday eggs from the AP if you're already at your limit. Hope that helps. :)

Haunted Odyssey (MarrowxMoonstone) - 2 Eggs

The limit is per type. Next year, you get to keep 2 of that new dragon as well.

When you breed for Holidays, you usually breed more than one per clutch. Note: this is usually, not always.

You have to choose an egg to "keep". If you already have 2 of that type, this egg will only be kept for 1/2 hour so you can give it via teleport to someone during that time. If you only have 1 of that type, you can continue to keep that egg, it won't auto-abandon if you only have 1 already.

Any other eggs than the one you keep will auto-abandon the instant you choose which one to keep. The one you keep for 1/2 hour will auto-abandon at the end of the half hour, if you haven't given it away by that time, if you already have 2.

my snow angel i just released gave me 4 eggs.

and can i just say this lag is ridiculous. =/ something should really be done about it because i have a good computer but i've yet to be able to pick up 1 egg (not even holidays). then again i'm sure several other people out of the 900+ users on the same probably also have nice computers, if their's aren't lagged by the over all 2,000 users access the servers and databases at one time.

My two goldwings gave me two and three eggs, my ribbondancers gave me three and four eggs, and my yulebuck gave two eggs this year (another yet to be bred). I'd say it was pretty good.
