This is the OOC thread for The Caravan

 

Please read everything in the OP of the main thread. This is a slightly confusing RP and I'd like it for people to get what's going on. I'd know if you didn't read it.

 

Current Happenings:

The Caravan members just discovered something strange: The chasms haven't shown up on their tracking device. Also, there are a few character who had encountered chasms all on their own, and after beating them to a pulp, visited the local fun fair. Or carnival? After a feisty time, the three, Rollo, Kolin and Auralia get cornered by a lot of chasms, more than one can imagine. Kolin had climbed a building after his brother, and fell off it, hitting the ground unconscious. Rath, Valadian, Bruxa and Lance rushed to the scene, and they are helping the two gypsies battle the chasms.

 

Time of day: morning / afternoon / evening / night / midnight / dawn

 

This RP will be Semi-Lit+

 

You can be a gypsy, although you aren't aware of it yet, and you have been found by either the Caravan, AN DORCHADAS, or The Motorcade. All player gypsy characters will eventually end up in the Caravan, but you can choose to have an interesting start. The Caravan will hunt you down nonetheless. >8D

 

You can also be an existing member of the Caravan, and help the gypsies find their way to your little group. If you are a caravan member, then you were with Rath and the others as they escaped from The Motorcade. Put that you are a Caravan member in the PM under the 'who they encounter first' section, and I'll reply with the information if you're accepted. These will be limited since we need more gypsies than Caravan members.

 

On powers: Please don't make your power over-powered. () I might refuse one that is like that. And on powers that control other people, it isn't preferred, but if you are going to do it, please, please, please ask the player for permission to control their character!

 

Rules:

 

I will update the rules quite a bit if I see fit! So please check these rules once in a while!

 

•No powerplaying, God-modding or anything of the like. Would you like me to control your character without asking?

•Please try to post with proper grammar, correct spelling, and with at least five sentences per post. Just so we could get things going. It's hard to reply to: "He took a nap."

•No negative behaviour in any form is acceptable. (aka. treat others like you'd want to be treated)

•Keep romance to PG 13. No, really!

•OOC posts in brackets, please? Don't want confusion. And also, I don't really mind if you have an entire OOC post.

•Please make your characters realistic. (That means Gary and Mary, you're out!)

•Please PM me the forms, and put the word 'cryptophobia' somewhere in the form to show that you have read the rules.

•You can have up to three characters for now.

• Please no excessive swearing. I know it helps push the mood but.. just be careful? I am not very fond of swear words.

• I will be quite strict on rules and such, so please, please read them carefully. That goes with everything in this post. Since this is quite a confusing RP, it is necessary to pay attention. :3

•I can add more rules. Because I am the Treoraí! D:

 

Misc. things you need to know:

 

•There are creatures sent by the AN DORCHADAS called Chasms to hunt the gypsies. They are pretty much shadows that can twist to any shape or form and they can inflict considerable harm on one. Only the Caravan are aware of these creatures, and they are often sent to help defeat the chasms attacking the gypsies.

 

•There are two ways to spell gypsy. One has a capital G (Gypsy) and the other has a lowercase g (gypsy). The capital is used to refer to the Gypsies in the past, and the lowercase one is for the gypsies living in the 21st century, because they become a non-proper noun.

 

•Remember: Most of the characters that are being hunted by the organizations (not already in) don't yet know that they are gypsies and have special powers, unless their families kept the tradition long within their generations, but I'd rather that not be common. In fact, they don't even know what the organizations are, or what the shadows are called. Please try not to include what you know into their confusion.

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Appearance/Personality: [X] He has an air about him that is very cold but he often takes it into his time to help the gypsies that aren't part of the Caravan yet. He is a very uncaring character. He isn't very social, and the only people he talk to are Valadian and Bruxa, other members of the Caravan, unless he has to talk to the ones whom he helps escape. He is somewhat the leader of the group, as he is the most experienced of the Motorcade, and he was the one who found the secret of the organization. He is often irritated, and when he is he says things that might be offensive, although it is almost never on purpose.

History: Rath was twelve when he was taken into The Motorcade, where a kindly lady who was involved heavily in the organization's activities took on as his guardian. She was killed one day, suddenly, and gruesomely, and Rath took it to himself to find out how she died. In his investigation he had found several letters stating about that lady, and in his discovery, he persuaded a few others to escape with him, and they climbed the gates of that building that very night. He still has the letters to this day, yet he never shows them to anyone.

Appearance/Personality: [X] Valadian is a teenager with really long brown hair that extends in a thin ponytail down to his back, and smiling dark green eyes. He is rarely every seen without a smile. One could say he has the exact opposite personality compared to his friend Rath, as he is very happy and optimistic. He often acts like a gentleman and is very passive and peaceful, shown not to like being involved in battles when they do come up, although if there's a gypsy that's in terrible danger, such as a bunch of chasms all at once, he gets over-excited and often rushes into the dangerous state of things, although his power is almost completely useless when it comes to battles, as he feels weak very quickly.

Character Name: Lance

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance/Personality: Lance is a lanky teenager with a mope of unruly black hair and sea green eyes. He is rather tanned and seems to always have a mischievous grin on his face. He is very sociable and hyperactive, not being able to stay still for long. He is also somewhat playful and loves to play pranks on people. This had gotten him into various bits of trouble in the past but he is unrepentant. Although he seems to always take things easy, he is fiercely loyal to his friends and would not hesitate to defend them.

History: Lance was one of those in The Motorcade whom Rath had persuaded to escape. He, Rath and Valadian had known each other for quite some time. (More will be rp’ed out)

Character Name: Bruxa

Gender: female

Age: 18

Appearance/Personality: Bruxa.

Bruxa can be somewhat intimidating if you meet her on any normal day. She takes a bit to get to know people and figure them out and if she doesn’t then she won’t talk to you very often. Her face is almost always stony unless she is around Rath, and then you MIGHT be able to catch her smile at the boy that she considers her close young brother. She has scars along her arms and back that most consider to be from brawling for she does seem to have that kind of nature.

History: Bruxa doesn’t even talk about her history so not much is known to others save Rath.

Character Name: Auralia

Gender: female

Age: 18

Appearance/Personality: Auralia Auralia is a young woman with orange/brown hair and eyes that are this color.

History: Auralia was born into the world on a very cold evening and the doctors thought that she would die. However, upon touching the young girl, the doctors found her to be above the normal heat level of a child. Auralia's mother was not surprised though and merely told the doctors that she would be fine and took her daughter far away from them. But time would catch up with Auralia and she would soon find herself runnig for her life from The Darkness. The reason being is because they found out she was a gypsy when she was at least 16 years old. She had mentioned in casually to a neighbour that she was descended from the great gypsies to get back at them for telling her she was not but an angry little girl without any manners. Unfortunately for her, one of their agents happened to be walking by and heard about her. When the researched her heritage, the found that she was indeed a gypsy. Now she runs for her life every day and doesn't stay in a single home. Her parents are safe though since they aren't aware that they are also full blooded gypsies.

Who they encounter first: The Darkness is chasing her.

Character Name: Kolin

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance/Personality: Kolin

Kolin is bright eyed, bushy tailed, and happy. He has trouble finding things to be serious about but doesn't mind it at all. He likes people and loves talking more than any one in existence. He can be quite annoying, but as long as people accept him, he doesn't mind being thought of as annoying. However, when around his brother, Kolin becomes a totally different person. He becomes ill-tempered, and sarcastic. Kolin loves his brother dearly, but he has trouble showing it. The only way he shows his love for his brother, is by staying with him at all times.

History: Kolin and his brother have lived together for their whole lives. Kolin, being the younger of the two, was always trying to gain attention and, thus, often got in the most trouble. He did everything one ought not. From drinking at a young age, all the way to illegal drugs. At the moment, Kolin is weaning himself off of cigarettes. He has a history of being able to drop things that are addictive with relative ease. He still drinks recreationally and gets most of his money by doing tricks for people he passes by on the sidewalk, he is a real con artist.

Character Name: Rollo (Roland)

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance/Personality: Rollo tends to be dark, moody and annoying, but mostly just jokes around. He can be plain obnoxious and often is. He pretends he doesn't like people, mostly because his brother, Kolin, does, but really does like them, most of the time. As soon as his brother's around, Rollo becomes outright hostile, aggressive, and even more moody, if possible. He has been known to lash out at those around him, physically even, when he gets into a particularly bad mood.

History: Rollo has lived with Kolin since the beginning of time. Being the older one, he has always felt like he grudgingly has to be the responsible one, and protect his younger brother. When he found out his brother was taking drugs and getting himself into trouble, Rollo urged him to stop and offered support, though not great support, at the same time. Their parents seemed to never be home, always too busy to bother with them and thus not really in their life. Rollo in a lot of ways found that he needed to be his little brother's parent, but he utterly failed. Responsibility has never been anything he wanted. He often wishes he was the younger one who could get himself into trouble.

Character Name: Mark

Gender: Male

Age: 10

Appearance/Personality: Mark

Mark tends to isolate the world around him whenever he begins to play on his guitar, or listens to his music. He tends to act way older then his age, and tends to play it 'cool' But underneath that built-up appearance, still lies a ten-year old kid. He tends to get scared when something very bad happens, but he doesn't want to be labeled as weak, so he always tries to never give up.

History: Mark was born into a rather normal family, though he always had a feeling his mother was different. At a young age he took an interest in the guitar, and began to play around the age of five. Around a year ago he overheard an argument with his parents, the words 'shadows' and 'gypsy' were the words that filled his head... like something had 'clicked' in him. When he asked, his parents told him that they were arguing about a show they watched, and the topic was never brought up again. Since that day, he always had a feeling that he was being watched.

Username: Jackal

Character Name: Garrett Carson

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Appearance/Personality: Garrett has a rectangular face with a narrow jaw and chin. His skin is slightly tan and he has blue eyes that can often be described as icy...and it's not just because they're light colored. His black hair is kept neatly groomed, with his bangs brushed to either side of his face and the rest of his hair tied back. Garrett is rather tall, standing at 6'1" and weighing about 170-180 pounds. He favors old-fashioned clothing, such as laced jerkins and button-up shirts with leather boots.

Garrett is very serious most of the time. He values manners and proper etiquette, and displays a certain amount of disdain for...well, everything. His friends once asked him if smiling would make his face crack, to which he replied "...maybe."

In spite of his no-nonsense attitude, Garrett does loosen up occasionally. He likes to go out gambling and and enjoys drinking once or twice a week, despite being underage. He does have a bit of a temper, though he prefers to simmer silently rather than confront whatever made him angry. This can lead to some fantastic explosions if he is pushed too far before he has a chance to calm down.

Garrett tends to be very sarcastic with a person when he dislikes them--and maybe even when he likes them.

History: Garrett was born into a wealthy household with a less than healthy family life. His father and mother fought constantly, whether their only son was around to witness the fight or not. When they weren't fighting, Garrett's parents spent a lot of time apart in separate areas of the house. His father was a notorious playboy, going out almost every night to get drunk and seek out one-night stands. Garrett's mother disapproved of these acts, but she stayed quiet out of fear of the man. Garrett was very close to his mother until she became terminally ill when he was eight. It was a slow-progressing disease, and as she grew weaker Garrett began to show signs of depression. When he was thirteen, his father decided to step in and try to get Garrett out of his 'funk'. His idea of doing that was taking his young son with him on his nightly excursions.

On Garrett's first trip out, he became drunk and got violently ill, earning an angry rebuke from his father. This became a regular occurrence until Garrett had developed an impressive alcohol tolerance.

Garrett's mother died right after he turned nineteen. That was when he decided to leave home and his father behind to try and build a life of his own. Whether or not he'll succeed is a different story.

Character Name: Sophy

Gender:Female

Age: 21

Appearance/Personality: Image of her With shoulder length dark brown hair and odd blue eyes. She is a small person for her age, but she still believe she just hasn’t finish growing yet. Stand at 5’ tall. Other than he little odd colored eyes she is a very normal girl who is afraid people around her will leave her alone if she is not doing a good job, whatever it may be (as long as it remains moral...) for she is terrified of being left alone. She is some sort of work-a-holic as she does every job she can manage to leave people around her don’t have as much chores. Easily hurt.

History: -omitted- But I can say she got captured by a Chasm and it was a terrible experience for her.

Character Name: Rayven

Gender: Male

Age: 23

Appearance/Personality: Light brown-chestnut coloured hair that falls to about his chest, with light blue eyes. He's a bit of a flirt, and is horribly impulsive and absent minded. Rayven never thinks before he acts and that usually lands him in a bad situation. He doesn't talk much about himself, leading to the fact that nobody really knows much about him. He has a bad temper, and hates it when people talk ill about him.

Character Name: Lyssa Rose

Gender: Female

Age: 20

Appearance/Personality: Lyssa Rose Strong-willed, compassionate, and a lone wolf are the best words to describe her.

History: She's not one to go into detail, due to a traumatizing past. She lucky to be alive and to have made it as far as she has--she watched from a distance as the An Dorchadas consumed her parents at the age of sixteen. Ever since then she has been running the only things she carries now is a hope to a brighter future and a few changes of clothes in the saddle bags of her old panhead.

Character Name: Dalibora

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Appearance/Personality: Dalibora is a tan, toned young woman with light green eyes. Rather tall, she has a somewhat intimidating air about her, though she is seldom malicious towards anyone. Preferring the company of friends though not much of a talker, she expresses her appreciation in her actions rather than through her words. If otherwise not speaking, messing with her suitcase is sure to elicit a verbal response.

History: Dalibora was raised not with her relatives, but with friends, growing up under the less than watchful eye of them. She grew up as one of the gang; there was no real established hierarchy with her friends, and they were rather rough with one another, wrestling and fighting frequently. She picked up yoga at a rather young age and still practices routinely. As a young adult, she travels without much of a plan, still keeping in touch with her old friends when she can and keeping her suitcase on her at all times.

Charrid: A member of the Caravan, a small girl of around sixteen with red hair and green eyes. Power: creates things that work perfectly without power with old junk.

 

Arachne: A member of the Caravan, a girl of around thirteen with short chestnut hair. She can weave things and mend things quickly, including wounds of any sort.

No. Just a man. That he is throttling. And may or may not kill, depending...

No. Rollo just launched an attack. It was just a way of blowing off steam.

 

Promise Kolin isn't going back. Someone should help that man. And then help Rollo escape the attack of the angry carnies that is soon to follow.

Anyway, joking drivel aside...

 

I'm glad this thread is up now, because I've been wanting to discuss some things about the plot. Namely, the fact that there isn't much of it. It might be a good idea to start brainstorming for possible things to happen to the group in the future.

Yeah, we need more to go off of. But, more importantly, we need our dearest creator to give us some more direction.

Yes. So they're all supposed to meet up in the Caravan thing at a point in time, I do believe. And our dearest creator needs to post, so the Caravan people can try to find them.... *whines*

So, I think that Rollo should join the Caravan. I'll liven up the plot, with permission from the creator, by having Kolin go and help out with the semi bad guys.

...though, Love, your post seems a bit awkward in my opinion. I just don't really understand some of the logic there. How would being jumped and choked by Rollo have saved that man from being attacked in an alley? If anything, Rollo WAS the man attacking him in a dark alley.

Well I see she was confused by our carnival fair thing... They're either very closely related or exactly the same. I'll find out later today. My friend worked at one over summer. *now wants to work at a carnival/fair very bad after hearing all about it*
