Posted November 3, 2011 I work in a gift shop/tube rental/food place in a state park. It was fun when I first started working there, the environment was very relaxed. Now? Not so much. My boss and manager are constantly butting heads, and the park is cracking down on my boss to make radical changes to the shop. All us employees(only 8 of us) are always walking on egg shells. Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) I work for a local newspaper as a Graphic Designer. Making up ads, doing page layout and so on. Its a cool and fun job but the people and the hours kind of get to me. Edited November 3, 2011 by DragonSpirit009 Share this post Link to post
Posted August 15, 2012 I work two part time jobs. Both in retail. One is at a department store during mornings, and the other is over at a craft store in afternoons and evenings. They keep me busy and get me out of bed, so I don't turn into a potato. Plus a steady income is nice. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 15, 2012 Retail~ I love my job, I work at a game store, and it's very useful for fueling my gaming addiction. Also fun meeting more people who love what I love~ Share this post Link to post

Posted August 22, 2012 The Bahamas Humane Society. My official job title is 'Membership Officer' meaning I do mailouts to and from members and send stuff out to recruit new ones, but I also do anything and everything that needs to be done, be it taking minutes at staff meetings, washing puppies, cleaning cages, or feeding horses. I love my day job! Then, I go home to whichever animal(s) I happen to be house sitting (paid) that day, and I love that part, too. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 22, 2012 I color comic books for a day-to-day living. The job is wonderful, but the hours can be murderous and it's always precarious being a freelance commercial artist. I also create fine art pieces to sell at science fiction and fantasy conventions, which brings in a smaller secondary income. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 22, 2012 I'm a student right now. However I worked the past 3 Summers, incluing this one, at the U.S. Embassy in Ecuador (where my mom's currently serving). Share this post Link to post
Posted August 22, 2012 Out of University and unemployed. Partly because I haven't yet found anything that would sound like something that wouldn't kill my self-esteem and that would match my skillset. I hope I find something soon, though. :T Share this post Link to post
Posted August 23, 2012 I currently work for my local Parks and Rec department as their resident naturalist. Not exactly my dream job, but I've been told your first job out of college never is. It pays the bills and is along the lines of my college degree. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 3, 2012 Over the summer, I worked as an as a tech intern for Bayview Beacon. We didn't do, or learn, much sadly. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) Training to be a bookseller, next january the training is over, which also means I'll be unemployed . I like this job, I really hope I can find a place where I can keep doing it. An independent bookstore in my city's hipster neighbourhood. -shot- Cool job, though. And right next to the best coffee shop in the city (in my humble opinion). And also, 40% staff discount on books. 40%, that's generous! Nice. Posted September 5, 2012 I guess it's not technically a job, but I help out at my parents' nail salon. I'm not getting paid, but it's good work experience at least. And I have a computer to waste time on when the place isn't busy! Never had an actual paying job before. :/ Share this post Link to post
Posted September 5, 2012 Still working on a farm... now doing part-time landscaping... also still teaching ukulele lessons, lost my skype student and picked up another in-person. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) I'm a student first and foremost (double-majoring in two computers majors), so I only have small part-time jobs. One of them is as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. The other is at church. During the school year, I work with the youth group, and during the summer, I take over the secretary job. I am not sure what I want to do after college, as my double-major covers so many things; I think I'll just wait and see what I like best. So far I'm liking Flash (though it'a challenging!) and making web sites. I last posted this in this thread about three years ago. Nowadays I'm a software engineer at a company that makes programs for schools. I currently work on a team that fixes bugs whenever a customer runs into an issue and tech support confirms it. Posted February 21, 2015 I work in municipal government as a secretary/admin asst/engineering tech. Administrative Specialist is the official title, but I do quite a bit, and some of it at a higher level. Overall, my job is okay and most of the people are great, but I'm also a tad burned out. Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) I am a Master mechanic with a regional transit authority. I fix the electronic systems in bus' mostly, as everything is being controlled by computers so I spend my days elbow deep in wire bundles. I also co-own a garage with my brother and have a little side thing where I make jewelry. I started out fixing helicopters for the US Navy, still love whirly birds.
