Part of what I like about the project is just making lists and crunching numbers and breeding every week. I've long thought that I got quite a few z's on Saturdays. I was supposed to have 8 slots available, but Lagie posted an offer I couldn't refuse the other day (a cb honeydrake), so I went in with 7. I'll have a slot about 10 hours from now, but I wouldn't call that the same breeding event. Today rivaled one of my best days (may be my best, didn't count last time it was this good): 120 pairs of z's bred, 7 eggs = 5.8% A 1/36 shot at z coming in first is 2.7%, so I beat the odds. That's a highly unusual day--can think of only once or twice it's been that good. Funny thing is, after breeding my pure'z third gens, I had three left over--one pygmy, one drake, one regular (not quite one bourbon, one scotch and one beer...any George Thorogood fans?), and when I bred my second gens I got a pygmy mate and a regular mate for 2 of them! That's a good day-- I also hit 2000 dragons today. At 1000 dragons, I had 433 z's (307 caveborn, 37 pure'z second gen, 1 pure'z third gen) or 43.3% z's At 2000 dragons I have 1296 z's (824 caveborn, 148 pure'z second gen, 25 pure'z third gen, and 2 pure'z fourth gen) or 64.8% Unfortunately one of the fourth gens is a pygmy, so they can't try for any 5th gen magic. So, for my second 1000 dragons, I grabbed or bred a whooping 863 z's! 86.3%! Most of the other 137 were BSAs or hatchies to freeze, etc., plus a couple non-z gifts. So--those are the numbers. They don't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I had a good time. There will be another report at 3000. Ooops--had to edit for some bad math!
