Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) I have hunted and hunted I can't find out. What is a "2nd Gen" is that the child of caveborn parents or the grandchild of caveborns. For instance, is THIS a first or second gen. Copper with Caveborn parents That is a second gen. i.e. a child of caveborn parents. Edited February 22, 2014 by rubyshoes Share this post Link to post
Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) The caveborn generation is the first. Their child is the second. The caveborn's grandchild is third generation. Just count from right to left So far, I've only seen one person in the trade threads referring to the grandchildren as "2nd gen" ... Edited February 22, 2014 by Ruby Eyes Share this post Link to post

Posted March 15, 2014 I'm creating a lineage that I love the look of, but, is there an accepted name for this lineage shape? http://dragcave.net/lineage/ZOU0O I've been thinking of it as a castle lineage, since the right side makes me think of the battlements on castle walls. If there's already a term being used for this pattern, I'll try to reset my brain LOL. Share this post Link to post

Posted April 23, 2014 Um...do we need a NSFW (not safe for work) or similar warning on the link to the word codes lineage example in the first post, given it contains a certain word beginning with F in two of the first gen names? Personally, it doesn't worry me, but I have no idea what age range people are here in DC? Share this post Link to post
Posted May 7, 2014 The breed is called Seasonal, and this sample of yours is purebred, as far as I've observed in the various gifting and trading threads. It's a similar thing with Stripeds and Nebulas, I suppose. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) This I've been referring to this as an even-gen arrowhead or chevron. Is there some other name for such a thing? Edited May 11, 2014 by Meg_752 Share this post Link to post

Posted May 16, 2014 I've heard people call them double arrowheads before Thanks. I was just wondering if there was some sort of official name for them. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 16, 2014 This is one that is becoming more common, i think it should be added... Hearts, http://dragcave.net/lineage/CvQND Two double sided stairsteps bred together Share this post Link to post
Posted June 3, 2014 I like the idea of calling them "hearts". Hearts would be almost double arrowheads. Course, they can also become this that someone posted earlier, so maybe they're still just "arrowheads" (as opposed to arrows and reverse arrows, which are two kinds of mirrored stairs). I think that double (or more) arrows should be referred to as claws or talons or some such, as they look like claws. But then again, I guess they're technically just mirror arrows or double (or more) arrows. Dragon claw would be a cool term, though. Also I feel like "Rainbow" should be included in the first post, as well as something about Thuweds and Dorkfaces (and any other major names). Though rainbows aren't limited to a certain type of lineage, they can be done in several ways. Possibly also add something like the incredibly inbred lineages? The ones that are even gen and have the same two dragons at the base, same two in the second gen, etc. Those kinds of lineages are becoming more common. c: ---- Also might someone be able to tell me what this might be, if anything? I actually don't think it's really any particular thing, but I like it and sort of want to make a lineage with it. c: It looks related to the heart/arrowhead lineages a bit. Posted June 16, 2014 Is there a name for this type of lineage: http://dragcave.net/lineage/AAfrS/0fq9pVNn Where one dragon is an EG, and the other is a stair of the same length. I find it quite interesting, as it can continue like a stair or spiral from an EG "base". Share this post Link to post
Posted June 16, 2014 Just found this in the AP. http://dragcave.net/lineage/juscV I never came across a lineage like this and i think it's quite thoughful created and really should have a name. Share this post Link to post

I find it quite interesting, as it can continue like a stair or spiral from an EG "base". If it had a stair on the other side as well, I'd call it a pyramid or something. Just found this in the AP. http://dragcave.net/lineage/juscV I never came across a lineage like this and i think it's quite thoughful created and really should have a name. It looks like a variant of the arrowhead lineages. It doesn't look as defined as they usually are, though. To me it looks like a fish. Share this post Link to post

Posted August 4, 2014 I'm kind of curious. What would this lineage pattern be called if Clair (the black) was a female Silver? It's not exactly purebred as I have four breeds, and it can't be called a mirror/foil, either. http://dragcave.net/lineage/q2Wmu Share this post Link to post

It would just be an even gen, I think. There are endless possibilities for the arrangement of breeds within an even gen, but most of them are not named. Share this post Link to post

Posted September 30, 2014 This one doesnt really look like much to me... http://dragcave.net/lineage/BXx3i Another question, if i could ask it here; This dragon has de Bixen as well as Thuwed in the lineage, admittedly quite far off. Could it still be pulled out and be call [name] Thuwed de Bixen? Share this post Link to post

Could it still be pulled out and be call [name] Thuwed de Bixen? I'm afraid that is what one would call a "messy" lineage, which does not make it bad, and certainly not uninteresting. It just doesn't have much value in the trade market. And you can certainly go as far back in its ancestry as you wish in naming it. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 23, 2014 Hi there, I am very new to this game... I have a few dragons that are Adult, with breeding... Can someone please point me to where I can look up combinations... Like If I Put in : Tri-Horn Wyvern and lets say Brimstone... Is there a way to find out what I might find... it would help me to try to get Better Dragons... Thank you to anyone and everyone who can help me in this quest for info... Tinkergnome Share this post Link to post
Posted October 23, 2014 If you breed a Tri-Horn with a Brimstone, you either get a Tri-Horn or a Brimstone There are actually only very few dragons that can be obtained by mating other breeds together: http://dragcave.wikia.com/wiki/Hybrids This would have been a question for the Help section, btw ( https://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showforum=3 ) Share this post Link to post
