Posted March 20, 2013 Just to make sure, when you're counting gens, it's the highest gen, right? Not the one you're actually breeding for? This would be 8th gen, not 6th gen? I was so mad, I got 2 tinsels in a trade and they were both wrongly gendered and now I can't even make them match together in a pretty way because they're not the same. It's either that, or try and make a wave. Could try that, since after reading this thread, that's a legit type of line. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) zaverxi, Your arrowhead is indeed an 8th gen. You count from the first row over. Technically, I guess someone would say uneven-sided arrowhead if you are trying to give more detail to make sure someone knows it is not two 8th gens joined together. And it is still pretty! Wave, Spiral, Check-mark are all seen on the lineages. Vaati, I'm afraid I personally don't see a circle there. That looks pretty clear an arrow head to me. Pretty one at that. Pinkgothic, happymom, I am not the authority on lineages (just very opinionated), and am only commenting what I have observed so glad we agree on ideas! I like your #-step spiral idea for the doubles especially as I had not seen that before and it might eliminate misunderstandings. Edited March 20, 2013 by grammydragon Share this post Link to post
Posted March 27, 2013 Curious what this lineage is: http://dragcave.net/lineage/YdaFk If it doesn't have a name I'd love to call it a funnel lineage, since that's what it reminds me of Share this post Link to post

Posted April 28, 2013 Is there a special name for when you combine two PB even gens of different species, like this? Or would you just have to say "even gen from two different PB parents" or something? Share this post Link to post
Posted April 28, 2013 dustpuppy, Your lineage is pretty! sorry that I don't recall there ever being any name reference for this type of lineage other than even gen. Share this post Link to post
Posted April 28, 2013 http://dragcave.net/lineage/rEkXO I assume this would be mirrored? http://dragcave.net/lineage/Mjb4a anyidea of what this would be? Share this post Link to post
Posted April 29, 2013 Hi Hisa, It look like your first one is an attempt for Rainbow. It is 6th gen Even Gen, and since the pattern reverses to repeat, I would call it a mirror also. Your second lineage with the Blacks is 5th Even Gen, but I don't see a pattern to give it any further naming. Perhaps someone else has other idea? Share this post Link to post

Yeah, I don't think there's a special name for that. It's a combination of 2 different lineages- the top is Black from Marrow starters, and the bottom is a Black-X-White checker. Posted May 12, 2013 I've a question about this hatchie here. Am I correct in believing I've got a 4th gen from a spiral lineage? Share this post Link to post
Posted May 13, 2013 Well...actually not. Looks like you have a stairstep with a lovely and unusual two breed pattern. A spiral would have a 2nd breed alternating around the main breed in the center. Like this: http://dragcave.net/lineage/b9Igf Share this post Link to post

Like this: http://dragcave.net/lineage/b9Igf Good to know. I figured working with pygmies might be interesting, as I've not heard of anyone doing much with them. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 14, 2013 With the NEW breeding rules re: breeding geodes and OTHER breeds with each other,WHAT would you call this lineage? http://dragcave.net/lineage/GKw7T Rockin' On Share this post Link to post
Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) What would you call this lineage? Zigzag? Thanks for the answers, guys! Edited May 26, 2013 by Woof123Albinos Share this post Link to post
Posted May 26, 2013 I'd call it pretty. But everyone else will probably call it a zig zag also. Nice! Share this post Link to post
Posted May 26, 2013 Pretty is a really good word. I've heard people call that an E shaped lineage. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 4, 2013 I found this hatchling on the AP, and looking (very) far back into it's lineage I discovered some Dorkface! Lineage Share this post Link to post
Posted July 22, 2013 I grabbed this one's parents off the AP and of course I had to breed them. Is there even a name for that kind of lineage? Share this post Link to post
Posted July 22, 2013 Purebred arrow? It's basically 2 mirroring purebred stairs combined. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 22, 2013 I agree with Ruby Eyes, I would call it a PB Arrow also. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) 8g PB EG right? I just got this dragon and... Uhm... I think for base there's 128 dragons .___. If I wanted to make something similar to this... How much dragons (for base) would it take for a 13g EG? Cause now I'm wondering how much work that's gotta be .___. Edited July 23, 2013 by Saynna Share this post Link to post
Posted July 24, 2013 Saynna, correct, that is an 8th PB EG; and correct again, there are 128 cb's for base/first generation; and to make a 13 gen you will need 4096 cb's!! and lol, depends on the "refusal" rate you get, but it is going to be some awesome work, looking forward to your posting the finished lineage!!
