Posted March 1, 2013 I think this looks pretty cool, what kind is it? WOW! I would kill for a lineage like that! It's really cool! I call it Mountain Lineage, but maybe other people have a different name. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 1, 2013 Back when Tinsel-kins first came out in quantities, the Stairsteps were called Arrowhead when making a shape like this > Stacking them like yours, katedj, then bcame called Zig Zag. I never heard of them called Pennants before. Since yours has an extra feature at the top, it would seem to be considered an "almost" (Zig Zag, Pennants). Share this post Link to post
Posted March 3, 2013 I've got an odd one. Got a few like this, actually, so I guess it must be intentional... What do you call this lineage, which is a checkered stairstep where the initial pair are misgendered? (Ignore the final dragon, please. I know he's both a misgender and a misbreed.) http://dragcave.net/lineage/BgMS2 Share this post Link to post

I think of those "Pennants" as "Chevrons" Share this post Link to post
Posted March 6, 2013 What do you call this? It's like a stairstep, but using 2nd gen instead of CBs. Share this post Link to post

Posted March 6, 2013 ajrich, I have only seen your example referred to as a Stairstep/Staircase term. Nothing really noted for the beginning being reversed breed genders. bantymom, The things I have seen a long time ago called Chevrons were even gen stuff to resemble military rank badges. They have one breed in center that forms "<" and surrounded by another breed. Unfortunately I don't think I have any samples of it. Woof123Albinos, Sorry if I am drooling with envy, your Golden Wyvern is indeed what is referred to as a Double Stairstep/Staircase from I have seen. I have not seen another name for it. Posted March 7, 2013 Here's what the Even/Perfect Generations thread says: Perfect Generation is when you have reached a specific goal with your Even Generation-breeding. A Perfect Generation is always an Even Generation but with a bonus. For example; each and every dragon in the line is a Magi, or it’s all made up of Water/White-couples. A special goal has been achieved, more than just being Even Generation. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 7, 2013 Here is the quote from the Even Gen Lineage: Perfect Generation is when you have reached a specific goal with your Even Generation-breeding. A Perfect Generation is always an Even Generation but with a bonus. For example; each and every dragon in the line is a Magi, or it’s all made up of Water/White-couples. A special goal has been achieved, more than just being Even Generation. I am guessing it just means "it's perfect now, so quit while you are ahead"..... Share this post Link to post
Posted March 8, 2013 I am guessing it just means "it's perfect now, so quit while you are ahead"..... Hahaha. I'm planning to make an extremely inbred even gen (two CBs create two 2nd gens, then those two make two 3rd gens, and so on) with moonstones only. Would that be a perfect even gen, or just an extremely inbred even gen? Share this post Link to post

Posted March 8, 2013 Agreed, it is a specific goal so it would be a Perfect Even-Gen but since they are only Moonstones, then it is also a Purebred..... Purebred Perfect Even-Gen seems to me. Don't think you need to specify the Inbred part unless you want to. Share this post Link to post

Posted March 8, 2013 Here: http://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showtopic=120283&st=0 that is called "professional inbreeding" which is probably not as easily to work into a nickname I'd go with COIN (COnsequently INbred) Share this post Link to post
Posted March 9, 2013 Isuzu, I am afraid your lineage shown is not considered a Spiral. A Spiral is where the bred dragon has a CB mate alternating evenly for male and females. This is sample of Spiral lineage: http://dragcave.net/lineage/hRS4h If there are 3 same-gender cb mates together before changing direction, I have seen that referred to as a Wave. Perhaps someone else has seen a name for your lineage pattern and could let us know. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 9, 2013 I tend to refer to those as 'x-step spirals', e.g. two-step spiral. But wave definitely seems to be the more widespread term, so consider me seconding grammydragon on the formal terminology department. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 9, 2013 Interesting, I haven't heard of Waves until now, thought it was a 3 step Spiral. Thanks for clearing that up guys Share this post Link to post
