Posted October 12, 2022 I see some of my dragons have lineage from the Dorkweds and Thuweds. I see some of them have a little "von Mess" next to the "Thuwed" or "Dorkwed" part of the name. Does it signify that the original pair of the lineage is too far back, or does it mean something else? I have a 7g Celestial Thuwed, so I'm just making sure. Here's the lineage: https://dragcave.net/lineage/8d8Y2 As far as I can tell, von Mess indicates inbreeding, as well as the appearance of the lineage itself (usually a tangled mess). I found a relatively-low-generation von Mess (https://dragcave.net/lineage/DUXXx) and used this tool (https://www.allureofnds.net/NDER/Inbred) to check its lineage. A rainbow lineage is one where at least the caveborn dragons follow the pattern of colors in the rainbow. This one is a pretty good example. The one you have appears to be the closest to a rainbow that you can get using just different Xenowyrm variations. I suspect the breeder will have used all the variations when the lineage is complete. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 4, 2022 (edited) I think not. I suspect the breeder intends to use all the Xenos. I didn't really sit down and figure out which Xenos are missing and how they might fit into a rainbow, though. Or it is possible that the breeder never intended a rainbow at all and just wanted to do a stair with all the Xeno variants included. Making pretty patterns is fun and gives you something to do once you have collected all of the breeds you want. As a new player it may take you a while to get to the point where you need something else to do, but for players who have been here a long time it gives us something to do between releases of new dragons. Posted March 19, 2023 It certainly has been looking like fun. I have no doubt whatsoever that I will probably be doing lineages sooner rather than later as I'm a fan of projects. As I've already been thinking of some to do. (Because I too enjoy lineages it's why I play many breeding games). This is just the first time I've seen a breeding game focused on making patterns with said lineage. And I think that's really unique and cool. Thank you for the explanation!
