Escape the Infected!

It has been about fifty years since the scientists left the island of The National Institute of Mental Health, or NIMH for short. They had started their research in the early 1900s, taking poor children off of the streets and to the secret island. The scientists injected the children with a special concoction that they had made. They had previously tested it on rats, mice and other rodents, but they found it ready to test on humans that were forgotten. The kids grew older and then the scientists made them have children, killing the parents before the children had reached the age in which they would remember them. The new children were smarter than the last, almost to the point in which they seemed like high school graduates by the time they reached the age of ten.

 

By now, they were starting to test the formula on dogs and wolves, curious to the affect on larger animals. The thought of having them as live servants to do what they wanted without even having to pay them was something that seemed too good to be true at the time. The wolves died but the dogs adapted. The dogs were starting to get stronger and smarter as well, to the point in which the scientists only let them stay inside of a large cage. They fed the dogs the way people might try to feed raptors, sending things they could hunt through the roof of the cage using a crane. The food they hunted had the formula injected into them as well, already inside of their bloodstream.

 

By then it had been forty-seven years since the scientist started the research. The humans were far smarter now, to the point in which they could've been mistaken for scientist if it wasn't or the fact that they killed them at a younger age. The dogs were starting to attack each other, killing off any of the ones that were weak amongst them until only the strongest were still alive. Something happened to the dogs, their fur just fell off one day, leaving each one of them naked and furless. But they were still okay even once the weather became colder.

 

One day, a scientist that was new to the facility accidentally gave the tested humans the blood sample of one of the dead wolves. He was told by one of the older scientist to take it to the testing lab and then another older scientist told him to feed the humans. The formula was red as the wolf's blood so he got mixed up and poured the wolf's blood into their food by mistake. The humans changed; they grew tails, claws and ears. And when they were angered, or during random times of the day, they would change into the form of a wolf. But, the humans didn't die. Put 'Cook, cook, cookie!' in the Other section if you read all of this. Instead, they became stronger, their senses becoming that of a wolf's, more agile, and their stamina increased immensely.

 

One of the test subjects kept rambling on and on about an 'Infected' demon. Nobody would listen to her about what she said though. Her daughter, even though she had never seen her mother, rambled on about the same exact thing. Nobody listened to her either, until the dogs escaped. It was a warm, yet rainy day in the plains that lied near the middle of the island. The humans had changed only a few minutes ago, about an hour left for them to be in their wolf form. They started to howl, yip, and whine loudly. If only the scientists had tried to figure out what was wrong.

 

The dogs had started to escape after the smartest of them did something none of the others thought was possible. When their food was lowered into the cage, the dog leaped out of the opening and ran into the scientists' lab. Most of the dogs followed after him, though the ones that couldn't jump as high were left to die. It was a massacre. The dogs killed off half of the scientist and all of the guard dogs that they had before escaping the facility. The dogs stayed though. They stayed at the building's doors, waiting for the scientists to try to escape.

 

In a desperate attempt to escape the pack with the rest of the experiments and data, the scientist used each and every vehicle. They had a large truck so when the humans were in their wolf form they got them to go in without a fight. The humans in cars went to the pier to the north, arriving without getting attacked even once. But the ones that tried to go to the pier to the south were attacked by the entire pack. All at once, the dogs ran and at the side of the truck, the extreme force of their increased strength making it fall over like it was just a door. The pack leader got into the front of the truck and killed the two scientists that were inside while the other dogs started to bite at the chain that locked the trailer up. Then, the chain broke and the pack rushed inside, leaping at the experiments that were inside. Most of them died that day but some of them were able to escape the onslaught. The thirteen experimented humans that escaped the dogs ran to the jungle that lied at the south of the island.

 

They kept going until they reached the pier, only to see that the attempt to escape the island was in vain, for there was nothing there. So, the experimented humans stayed. But, when they had children and the children were old enough they started to send four of their own into the plains to try to get to the north pier and get a boat to the south for the rest of them. They never came back though, probably having gotten attacked and killed by the pack of dogs that live there. After so much time, only ten of them are left, one of them a descendant of the ones that spoke of the 'Infected.' That's what the dogs were now. They aren't dogs. They are Infected.

 

Plot

In this roleplay you will be able to be two different species: a human that is the child of others that were experimented on, or an 'Infected,' the name of the dogs that were able to escape the facility in which they were held in. The people that are playing children of experimented humans are trying to get their humans to the pier that lies at the north. To the north there is a ship that could take them away from the island and to civilization. The dogs have formed into a pack that lives with the plains, at least that is were they actually sleep and do mostly anything. It is best to listen to the rules of the alpha, though you can have your dog go against him and try to disobey one of the rules. When the dogs travel to other parts of the island they can go into the other two sections of it. This includes the half-north, or the alpine tundra, and the north, which is the forest.

 

The setting

The jungle, where the humans are, is to the south part of the island. To the north of that are the plains, in which the dogs have set up their main living quarters. To the north of this is the alpine tundra, unlike the arctic it has vegetation and the coldest temperature that it usually has is 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Right on the edge of where the alpines meet the plains is where the building is that the scientist did experiments at. It lies right in the middle of the island. Now, to the north of everything is a forest. It is like full of different types of trees, shrubs, and animals. The pier happens to lie on the side farthest from the alpine tundra. It is a small pier but there is a nice sized ship there with fuel and everything that would be needed for the journey back to civilization. The goals for the humans is to get there without being killed by the dogs.

- PG 13! That means romance, fighting, ect.

- DC rules apply.

- No godmodding/powerplaying.

- Star out any swearing. Ex: ** ***

- No controlling anybody's character unless it if your own.

- Please try to put at least four sentences with each post.

- Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT kill anybody's characters unless they say that you can.

- No flames please, nobody likes arguing, especially me.

- Only one human for each person, the amount of dogs are limitless though.

Rules of the Pack

Always listen to the Alpha and Beta.

Females can never be a beta or an alpha. This means that they are still just fighters or hunters if they are the alpha's or beta's mate.

Healers are able to tell fighters and hunters to do something for them.

Do not go into the jungle unless having gotten permission from the alpha.

There is no such thing as 'love.' You are to be partnered with a mate.

Once one is older than 20 you have to be killed.

Anyone that is banished and stays on the island shall be killed.

Personality: Crimson happens to be very disloyal, if you turn your back for just one second he might just try to attack you. He tolerates the higher ranked dog to a degree, able to listen to what he says. He is waiting for the right moment, waiting for when the dog will die so that he can take his place. If you defy him you might as well just roll onto your back or else he will, literally, make you. He isn't one that will let anyone do something that is against the rules, unless it happens to be him doing it or he finds the rule extremely stupid.

Skills: He is good when it comes to tracking, especially when he happens to not like them or its an animal that he wishes to eat.

If this roleplay is based on something, you either need to explain every facet of the story or make clear that it's based on something.

Oi! I'm having trouble figuring out how to explain some of this. It isn't based on something though, they kept the blood sample so that they could find out why the wolves died when the dogs didn't, and I don't really know how to explain how they are infect. They just went mad and lost all of their fur, so I considered them 'infected.'

If it's not based on something, you do need to explain what NIMH stands for in the roleplay.

 

By "on hand", I meant "on him"; why would a scientist have an old blood sample on him, and how could he accidentally give it to the humans?

 

If "infected" is just a name, you should explain that.

 

I recommend adding a "plot" section where you say who the roleplayers can be, what the point of the roleplay is, and what roleplayers would be roleplaying about.

It might just be me, but try replacing 'once' with 'by the time'. It's not wrong, I just think it would sound a little better

Well they already had tested it on rodents, which are animals. So try 'By now, they were starting to test the formula on dogs and wolves, curious to the affect on larger animals'
