Dang, you all are making me jealous with your pretty pretty lineages!

 

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I need some sort of dragon sorting tool, so I can keep my lineages organized. TJ keeps doing all this site improvement, WHERE ARE THE TABS FOR OUR SCROLLS?????

Seriously, I am having trouble keeping track.

 

So I thought this thread might be a good source for ideas on how to handle it. What do you all do? How do you keep track? How do you note your lineages?

Google sheets. Without which I am totally lost.

 

I lose dragons even with my spreadsheets, but when I'm working on any kind of project they're invaluable. I use them to keep track of multi-dragon trades too. My favorite part is that I can link directly to the dragon involved.

 

dragonsrus, I can try to breed you a couple redxold pinks, if that would help. I only have one cb val '09, but could also pair her with a red for you.

@jumpsnake: I organize my scroll using the Legacy Sort; its a pain in the rump to organize the first time, but once all the numbers are set, it made my life easier. I first have my metals, tinsels, shimmers in the front, then my golds and silvers. In the middle I have my "other dragons", sorted in rainbow sequence, then come unbreedables in the back.

 

I also use google spreadsheets, for every breed that goes above 30 in numbers ^^.

With some 6700 draggies, I just want to be able to pin my projects on the first pages and let 'the rest' go into a breed or colour sort.

I've totally lost control.

Coded naming saves a little of my sanity. I did at one time have all 2nd gens and above sorted with their breeding pairs and families.... rearranging those at the moment.

Sadly my spreadsheet has not been updated for a few years now.

 

 

@lilysally: I have some fem shadows from the desert, if you need any more for that project. (and coppers to go with them)

i do google sheets. if you want to see how i organized mine i have a link in my sig for shimmers and tinsels but i have all my projects there.

 

i also have some of my current projects in a section at the front of my scroll which might be a few pages back at the present time due to a competition.

@rafilos: I could imagine the first two generations with chocolate, the next 2 generations with pink sweetlings. Might be difficult to find trades for 5th gens though.

I have checked for the chocolate sweetling, there are 4 offspring from gold*chocolate, 2 of them are alt sweetling but doesn't have offspring... After all I will try to PM all of the owner and expect if I can receive some reply.

Hard to get a mate with the same lineage.

Maybe a combination with some other Special breeds in it?

You could make the lineage that more Special if you keep a Pink Sweetling on your scroll and, after next Valentine's day, I or somebody else could breed you a 4th Gen Gold from Alts?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with one of my lineages, well the dorkface line to be exact. i have a beautiful 3G white dragon from a gold x white checker and was hoping to continue on with the project.

So, is it possible for anyone to make a gold with the same type of lineage, so I can continue it? I am willing to breed most things on my scroll, unless they are part of a certain lineage.

Nice! That is a lot nicer looking that I thought possible. I'll keep an eye out for a brown copper X shadow walker offspring around Halloween. And if you don't get any, I could breed you a sibling to this dragon or this dragon. It wouldn't be quite the same checker but I have to offer. And I'm looking forward to continuing my own checker, so I don't blame you!

I have my male cb shadow walkers sorted out. I do not yet have my female cb shadow walkers sorted out. The rest of my Halloweens? eesh. I just hope I get to all of them and figure out pairs in time to actually... pair them. Doesn't look promising.

Not quite the project I've actually been working on, but I recieved the avatar of creation egg awhile back in exchange for an avatar of change with a similar lineage. Got around to breeding a mate for it and lo-and-behold, I get this little one finally!

What exactly do you Need?

My plans are getting to 8th Gen PB Autumn if possible in a year's time (as all CBs have to be mine...).

But I already have some I could breed for you (not all from my scroll, as this plan only came up in winter...)
