I'm kind of a stickler for graphics; how are they in Morrowind?

Here's a screenshot:

...They aren't the best. But you can easily make them look much better by using the Morrowind Sound and Graphics Overhaul mod, and the better bodies and better heads mod for the NPC models. I for one don't care much about the graphics, but if you want the game to look nice just install the mods listed above. The game was made in 2002, so for back then the graphics were great. There are plenty of mods out there for textures and graphics, but if you're on the Xbox version you'll just have to cope. I bought the GOTY Edition of Morrowind on Steam-considering it comes with both DLCs, $24.00 NZ dollars is a good deal (it's probably $20.00 US). It really is a classic, and I'd recommend it to big fans of TES.

It looks really good for a game from the early 2000s! Definitely going to check it out. I bet it runs really well on PC. I hope my crappy laptop could run it.

Yeah, they definitely are. I have Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force on the PS2... while it's fun, the graphics are pretty lousy, even for the early 2000s.

It runs perfectly on my laptop. There's a website called "Can You Run It" or something that lets you check if you can run certain games on your computer. When I checked all the columns were ticked, and that means it'll be fine. If you check it and a red cross is in a column then that particular requirement needs improving. Morrowind should run fine on most comps.

Wow that's really good info, thanks! I never know when something could run on my computer.

No problem. The site also has a "rankings" system so you can see how good your graphics card, CPU, RAM, hard drive, etc is compared to others. It's good to know whether your machine is a Methuselah or up to date, as it can determine how many games you can run. It also has a "pie chart" percentage showing how many people fail the requirements and pass them.

Here's the site link, and a link to check Morrowind:

Main Website

Morrowind CYRI

If you plan on getting Morrowind, here's a list of mods I recommend:

Fair Magicka Regen

Adul's Mods

Morrowind Code Patch (this one is pretty much essential-it fixes a lot of bugs)

Speed and Stamina Mod

Accurate Attack Mod

Morrowind Rebirth

Tamriel Rebuilt

Mods for nice looks:

Skies IV

Morrowind Sound and Graphics Overhaul

I absolutely adore Skyrim. I enjoyed Oblivion, which was the first TES game I played, but Skyrim is a game where I can spend hours wandering around the wilderness shooting deer, bunnies and hawks. Literal hours, I've clocked more hours in Skyrim than in Fallout 3 and New Vegas combined. Given how much I love the Fallout series and that I've loved Fallout for a lot longer than TES, that's quite an achievement. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good sandbox game.

There are only two things I can't do in Skyrim, and that's back the Stormcloaks (screw you, Ulfric) and not play a Khajiit. And I'm not sorry.

I fell into this trap so many times.

Quite often I'd switch on with the intent of finishing a quest or leveling up a skill, but then waste the entire play chasing after elk and gathering mushrooms.

The ability to pick plants and mushrooms is one of my favourite things about Skyrim and also Oblivion. The first time I played Oblivion and was escorting Martin Septim and Jauffre to Cloud Ruler Temple I saw some flowers I hadn't picked before and immediately got off my horse and went frolicking off through the woods to collect them. To hell with the quest, I want to know what happens when I eat those flowers!

I recently played an Alchemist for the first time (two days ago I hit skill level 100 omg). Before that I just sort of hoarded ingredients and never did anything with them. I have a greenhouse and a garden in my Falkreath mansion too, so I can brew 40 114-pt Restore Health potions every couple of days. |D I am also HILARIOUSLY overpowered. Two-handed skill of 100, and a superior ebony warhammer that does 152 points of damage without the 35 point fire enchantment I put on it. Dungeon crawls are a feckin breeze, let me tell you. Normally I try to hold back some, but this character is an experiment in extremes. laugh.gif

I find it hilarious that the mechanic for discovering ingredient effects is like, "Hey, you wanna know what that bee does to 'ya? FECKIN' EAT IT, YOU PIECE OF TRASH. DEVOUR THAT BEE." I don't know why its so funny. I also made the mistake of eating a Briar Heart at the top of the Throat of the World. It caused me to fall over, and then...down the entire mountain. I will not be doing that again.

^ PFFF- I feel like I need to purposely eat a Briar Heart there now.

I love collecting ingredients (and junk in general). I'm such a hoarder in Skyrim, as I was in Oblivion. Not so much in Morrowind because I never actually got a safe place to store junk. When I finally moved out of Whiterun to Lakeview Manor, my carry weight was 24659, and come to find out I forgot some stuff. |D

Also I, too, often veer off course to frolic in the woods or to check out a camp right in the middle of a quest.

The consumption of new ingredients is one of my favourite things to do when starting a new game. I'll be in the middle of a fight, spot some new flower or something, dart over to it, and stuff it in my face. The surprise paralysis isn't the best, though.

LOL, yes, I have to wonder what the town alchemists think of the Khajiit who comes in, buys most of their stock, then immediately starts eating it. Also, DO NOT EAT THE JARRIN ROOT. It is a very bad idea.

If possible, all of my Hearthfire houses in Skyrim have a Dead Bird Pile composed of all the hawks I've shot. I tried doing the same thing outside Proudspire Manor in Solitude, but it disappeared. I imagine my Khajiit was most upset.

24,659??? Good god. What did you have?

Also, funny thing happened last night. I decided to see if it's illegal to cast Turn Undead on Sybille Stentor in Solitude. She is a vampire after all. As it turns out, it's very illegal. My game glitched and killed her (which you're not supposed to be able to do). I also died, so there was that. Another thing I will not be attempting again.

Also I thought this was funny. There is some nudity (not full frontal, just a butt) in possibly my favorite picture of all time. He's just so happy.

@Jen-Kollic: Where does one obtain Jarrin root?

You get a single piece of Jarrin Root in one of the final Dark Brotherhood quests. Sadly you can only have one - you can't grow it and you can only get the one from Astrid. The root itself does 200 damage. Made into potions of Damage Health with the right perks, it can do several thousand. Yikes.

And I wasn't joking about the Dead Bird Pile:

Oh. Oh. Oh. I need to do this. I need to nab one.

That's hilarious. I should do that... I have a Cheese Wheel pile. tongue.gif

I laughed louder than I should've at both those pics.

I think you get Jarrin root on Solstheim. Whoops, apparently not. |D I was thinking of Trama root.

What did I have? Uhh...loads of books, armour, weapons, troll skulls, human skulls, dragon bones and scales, ingredients, food, gems, pretty much anything you can pick up except for many of the misc things like tankards and wooden plates. Everything else is mine. In both Oblivion and Skyrim, I have at least 2 of each piece of armour and weapon (unenchanted) from each set. As in, two steel helmets, two dwarven swords, etc. I tend to pick up everything that's enchanted. Can't keep me away from the shinies. Poor Arvak had to carry me all the way to Lakeview Manor.

Edit because ninja'd

I love that guard. Skyrim modders have such a sense of humor.

Wow, you hoard more than I do. I keep a stash of valuables I can sell in case I run low on septims in a safe in the back room of Lakeview...

I must have been the only person who tries out ingredients in the safety of my own home xd.png

During my second run I was checking out effects by the alchemy table in the main hall of my Hearthfire home when my spouse wandered over. I had just shoved a human heart into my mouth. A split second later he walked away and went outside.

It was two in game weeks before I saw him again.

I noticed that a Bosmer on Khenarthi's Roost has a Dunmer name, Indaryn Drurel; they probably just gave him the wrong race or something. I mentioned it in zone chat, and there was a little bit of speculation that perhaps he's adopted. Then someone spontaneously came up with a whole backstory for him:

"Kid had a tough life between trying to embrace his adopted parents and his own heritage.

At age 7 he tried to pick some berries on a trip to Elden Root, but couldn't find the will to, leaving him wondering just how strong his Bosmer roots were.

Age 17 he first discovers an ability to bend small portions of nature and leaves home as his adopted parents seem to grow too distant.

Age 23 he joins into a trading caravan with hopes that he might learn more of what he is by traveling the many forests of Tamriel.

Age 25 his caravan is attacked by wood orcs in Valenwood an in a rage he begins beating into the trees and violates the Green Pact.

With this his abilities to move any of the Green become forfeit and with his defeat he secludes himself to a small island off Grahtwood, retaking his Dunmer name as recompense for the family he never should have left.

END."'

Stuff like this is why I love the ESO community, lol.

Well it's not the first time an elf has had the 'wrong name'. Brand-Shei is a Dunmer but was raised by Argonians.

Anyone see the preview for the Imperial City DLC for ESO today? It looks fun! I still have so much to catch up on in the game, though.

Also, what do you guys think of Legends (the mobile card game that was announced)?

the amount of hate in the comments of the video...... outstanding....

If my laptop didn't lag when playing eso then I would play it more and even get the dlc cause it looks good.

I must say despite many people's disdain for The Elder Scrolls Online - now that there is no subscription I am happily playing an Altmer sorcerer and quite enjoying the game.. Though I wish there were organized vampire clans in the Aldmeri Dominion, I'm looking to attain the blood gift and it's proving elusive.
