Dragon's Lair

Recommended Posts

((Ok so I read in the OOC that seems whee allowed to start so um.... guess here goes.))

Vita woke up and looked over at his egg. It's been a while since he caught it and came over to this place. Keeping it warm and not leaving it. Its size a wieght would have you think his skinny arms would not be able to hold it for ever long at all, but he found it easy. He'd sometimes feel the hatchling in side shift every now and then and it always had him feel good when it did. It let him know it was still alive. That was always a good thing.

He swung his legs out of the bed. Day.... 1 here? Acutly not to long since he's been here. But a while since he got the egg though. He started to get dressed and the works.

Caleb woke up with a groan, the first thing he saw was the suit of armor placed near the wall. It was a masterpiece of steel, able to withstand the fire of an Aurora Dragon. It was also one of the very few things he had left that reminded him of his home. In a nest of blankets, near the fireplace was a small, Hellfire dragon. She had hatched the other day, and was resting from her struggle for freedom. Deciding to get up, he changing into another set of clothing before grabbing one of the two swords he had placed on the wall near the armor. The training of a knight was something he could never let go, it was ingrated into his very being. With a yawn he left the room to head outside, to find something that would withstand the blows of a sword.

Kya blinked her orange eyes open, giving a slight yawn as she did so. She shifted onto her bottom and looked at her lovely room. It had Yorkshire walls and a fireplace, grey bricks all around, the floor was a smooth, light brown colour made from wood. The fireplace was pulsing with light fires, orange, red, and yellow mixed into one. Above was a picture of her and the little blue nebula eggs in her hands, just about to fall after the picture was taken. In front of the fireplace was a tiny, black dragon. She had small wings, two legs, and many stars on it's body multicoloured. It had hatched yesterday, and had been resting all night.

"What should I name you..." Kya muttered, her eyes slightly fluttering due to how tired she still was. "Unai? No, no, doesn't fit..." She wondered, grabbing a black jacket from the end of her bed and slipping it on, also stepping onto the ground instead of sitting on the end of her bed. The black jacket was basically a short dress for her, and it was her mother's; the only memory of her. Kya wipped a tear from pricking in the edge of her eye and grabbed a teniss bracelet from the nightstand next to her bed, and slipped it on. She also grabbed a short, torquiose skirt that only the bottom of the skirt was shown under her jacket. She buttoned it up, wearing no shirt while she slept. It covered her whole body, and she didn't have any shoes.

Kya turned her attention to her Akaravi sword at the back of her room, laying on a rack. A bow and pack of 100 arrows were there next to it, for stealth missions from a distance. She wipped some hair from her eye and used a brush from her black backpack to brush her orange with red on her roots, and highlights- back behind her shoulders, but covering her ears. Kya brushed it some more to make it soft, then slipped a necklace that matched the teniss bracelet onto her neck. She put eyeliner and cheek blusher on from the little bathroom near her black, smooth chair.

Kya stepped out of her room, and downstairs, leaving her hatchling to rest. As she walked down the stairs, she noticed a boy walking next to her, more of a man. "Hello, I'm Kya" She said happily,.

Xeli was already up, making breakfast in her kitchen. The room was about 30 meters wide, and her kitchen took up 10 meters of the space. She loved cooking back at her father's old cottage, and would normally be the housewife, getting up and making everything she could for every meal of the day. She smiled, remembering the days when her father would come down, surprised. As a 7 year old girl, some people would think she couldn't even make toast, but it was the opposite.

Xeli flipped the last pancake, making it land on her plate. She had 10 of them, wanting to stay here for the rest of her life. She sighed, drizzling maple syrup all over them from the pantry. She took the plate and sat down on her bed, not caring about crumbs or honey getting in her pink blankets. She ate, leaving 5 in the fridge for later. She looked at her incubator that was already here when she moved in, Triana had helped her with her dragon egg information. She knew nothing about them, just that she stole them from muggets.

Xeli sighed and opened it, being able to reach it from her bed. She took it out in the towel it was lying on, and inspected it. "A little black egg, aren't you Kuyan?" She had already named him, feeling the name fit. She lifted it to her ear, making sure not to shake it or anything; that'd kill the baby inside. She heard a small heartbeat, thumping slowly- in a good way. She smiled, "At least you've got life inside your little egg" She told it, placing it back into the lighted incubator. It gave heat off to it, and the egg rocked.

Placing the sword in its sheath, Caleb walked down the stairs to the main floor. He soon found himself walking next to a young lady. She soon looked at him and introduced herself as Kya. It was rather strange for the young man, normally a knight would ask for the name of a woman, but she gave it so freely... He mentally shake that train of thought out of his head as he looked at her, placed a hand lightly on his chest and lowered his head ever so slightly.

"Greetings, I'm Sir Caleb, at your service" Said Caleb as he removed his hand and looked at Kya. Even though he threw away the crest of both his family and kingdom, he was a knight thick and threw. Taking a guess at what her reaction might me, he looked at her and said "I guess its odd, a brave knight being asked to come to a place like this."

"Yep. I used to be a farm girl, so this is all new to me." Kya smiled, walking to Triana's desk. "Oh, hello you two. Since you are both here, can I sign you a double assignment?" She asked, smiling and pursing her pink lips. "A double assignment?" Kya asked, hearing a dragon yipping in the next room. "Two people do it" Triana told, putting two black containers on the desk. "Yep. Go to Pete Hardgeri, he'll have it" She smiled, Kya took the bag. She peaked inside, 20 cookies, a large sandwiche with ham, lettuce, sauce, tomato, and some mango. "How'd you know?" The girl asked, the sandwiche being her favourite. "Oh, I know sweetie" Smiled Triana and handed the "knight" his food. She handed a drink bottle to share and pointed to a door to outside. "He'll be in the stables with the adult dragons" She told them.

Eiserne sat up on the bed. Her empty eyes glanced onto the mahogany floor under her ordinary wooden bed. Looking around, her eyes savored the sturdy walls. Her room was rather small, but beauty was the least of her concern. As long as it was habitable, comfortable and secure, she had no complaints.

The pair of golden orbs travelled around the room before trailing to a small basket. A Sunstone hatchling curled comfortably amongst the simple blanket. The gem on his tail hung outside the basket, glowing with a dim light and glinting from reflecting the sunlight.

Keeping her eyes on the dragon hatchling, Eiserne climbed out of the bed and walked towards the sleeping hatchling who soon woke up with a big, loud yawn. The Sunstone hatchling stared at her for sometime before walking wobbly towards her, tripping himself on his tail in the process. Still, the stubborn little dragon stood up and huffed at her. Eiserne said nothing, but an amused smile crept up her face. She then left to change into her blue dress, matching black and blue crop jacket and a pair of black boots with gold embroidery, her only remainders of what she used to be. Tying with her long, golden hair with an equally matching hairclip, she was set to go out for the day.

As she made her way to the door, the feisty hatchling hopped towards her, wanting to go out with her. Eiserne shook her head and looked into the Sunstone's eyes. The little dragon's defiant eyes soon closed with much reluctance and he walked dejectedly towards his bed, but Eiserne then gave him a gentle pat and a new toy from another smaller basket. The Sunstone's eyes gleamed with joy as he kept himself busy with his new toy while Eiserne finally managed to leave the room and made her way downstairs.

Vita got ready and wrapped his egg in a towel to keep it warm as he held it. He left his room and slowly went down the stairs to head to the training area to watch others train. That way he'd have an idea or something how to train his once it hatches. He saw a few others already tehre so he hung back a bit shy to be around others he dd not know.

Zack silently walked down the stairs, he wasn't sure if he should be here or not and didn't want to catch everyone's attention. He quickly reached the bottom of the steps and headed for the stables. He wanted to see the adult dragons. After a few minutes of walking he reached the stables. His black egg was in his back pack. Occasionally the dragon inside would make noises, signally it would hatch soon. Zack watched with interest as a man put a saddle onto an Ember dragon's back. Zack guessed if this was in the village where he had come from the man would be carrying a whip and the air would be full of dragon screams. But he didn't hear or see either. Perhaps this was a good place to live after all.

The Knight was surprised at the news of a double assignment, though he guess he should have expected it. When another bag was placed on the table, he guess that it was his. He grabbed it and looked inside, instantly it reminded him of home. Inside were slices of seasoned, salted char and sweetened apples. "Well then, better go find Mr. Pete" Said Caleb as he bowed his head softly to Triana, then went outside.

Just as Caleb left, Eiserne came towards Triana's desk. She glanced at the seemingly cheerful-looking woman and bowed her head politely. Eiserne spared a small glance to the leaving couple before turning back to Triana to see if she had a mission at hand.

Tyme was awoken to the click of hooves over her hardwood bedroom floor. She peered out from under the covers and saw a little horse dragon walking around her bedroom. She quickly checked the door; it was shut. She threw off the covers and knelt by the hatchling, who squirmed when she laid her hands around it's ribcage. It quickly spun around and looked at her angrily. Tyme smiled and the Horse Dragon hatchling came up and began sniffing at her bare leg. She stood and walked to her closet, giggling.

The hatchling followed her. She looked down at him and smiled. Before closing the door to the bathroom, she let the dragon walk in after her. He obviously liked her, or at least liked following her.

Tyme walked across the smooth tile floor and reached her closet. Pulling out a pair of pants and a shirt, she took the clothes and threw them on her bathroom counter. Striping off her night shirt, she put on her new, clean one and slipped on dark, loose pants. She looked at herself in the large mirror and thought about her appearance. The other girls were probably wearing dresses, she thought. I hate dresses... She huffed They're so hard to work in... She shrugged it off. If I'm going to get along with these people, they're going to have to know the real me.

She turned around and saw her horse hatchling staring up at her. "You're going to need a name." He cocked his head. "Later."

Tyme began walking from her room, and as she opened the door to leave downstairs, her hatchling quickly ran out in front of her. She sighed. "You shouldn't be running around loose." She bent down and wrapped her hands around his chest. He growled and tried to squirm free. It was clear he didn't like to be held, or be alone. Great...

Carrying the hatchling down into the lobby, she found others standing around. She wasn't sure what to do, so quickly found someone to talk to. She saw a young woman, appearing only years younger then her. Her blue dress looked gorgeous, but wasn't her type; but her boots were nice. She smiled and came to the girl's side. "Hi!

Triana smiled, knowing what she wanted. "A basic assignment. Someone has been stealing eggs from a mother dragon's nest. She has classified it isn't one of ours, just a mugget. He, or she has been there at least once a day, either when she is hunting, or sleeping. She says the 10 eggs will hatch in a few days, and they are very rare, a price of 1000 gold coins in the market. You can go meet her. She is under protection of Fashinu, so she will not attack, oh and her name is Iris. Iris is a telepathic Silver dragon, she'll tell you through mind and help you" She sighed the last sentence and took a breath. "You will be watching her nest when she goes away, and find the culpret. You can confront him or her, or go in with your weapons. We don't mind deaths, really." Triana told. "Go out into the training area, and she'll be in reach to telepathically guide you. Go now" She said.

Blue smiled, walking out with him. They eventualy reached the stables. Many pastures were around, cliffs and forest, 1 or 2 large lakes. There were many stables, but Blue saw a man stride into the first one on their left. "Come on!" She smiled, jogging inside. "Hello, Pete?" She asked, the man turned."Ah! Yes. The double assignment. Come here and I'll show you" He told, bringing them over to a table with a few papers. He sat down on one of the three chairs and waited.

Caleb followed Kya out of the building and into the fields. This would be the perfect spot for all his training, but the assignment came first...so he would have to come back later and set up a little 'personal' training area. He saw Kya running to one of the nearby stables. He sighed softly as he picked up his pace and headed for the same stable she ran to. Once inside, he saw both Kya and Pete, at a nearby desk. He assumed that the last chair was for him. So he sat on the chair and looked at Pete, wondering what this double assignment was.

There was an incubator by Pete's side, he took out the eggs. "A Moonstone and Sunstone egg" He told, holding them both out. "Now, they may seem like little commons that don't matter, but they're ying and yang" Kya blinked, "What?" She just stared at them. "We have a pair of ying yangs. Opposites. They bred these two, and need protection. If these die, our world could go wrong" He sighed, swallowing. He handed Kya the Moonstone, and Caleb the Sunstone. "I want you to keep them, train them together, whenever you can, introduce the hatchlings that will hatch tomorrow. If they don't regulary stay together, they will not learn the opposite, and their race will go extinct" Pete told. "So we rai- What about our little hatchlings? Will they affect them?" She asked. "Oh, no. Let them play. Your dragon will know what it is, and more than likely make friends. Just, if they are the opposite sex, make sure they don't get into that." He told.

Kya pulled it to her ear. "Oh! A fast little heart, don't you have?" She cooed, knowing it was a female now. "Mine'll be fine. My Nebula is female" She smiled, tucking it into her bag. She took out one of her cookies and ate. "For now, can you camp out for a few days in the forest? The eggs need to reach The Spirit Pool. Either as eggs or hatchlings. If they don't... bye bye Ying Yangs" Pete told. "It'll take over 4 days to reach it, and it'll be a month before they will die without the pool's water. Let them sleep in it; don't worry, the water will keep them up" He smiled and handed them blankets to keep them warm.

Eiserne turned to the woman who greeted her. She noticed her casual and comfortable attire and thought of trying to wear some herself later on. She politely bowed her head to her. "Good day." She replied with an elegant and refined tone. She was then assigned a mission by Triana. After listening to and remembering her duty by heart, she looked at Tyme. "I have to go now. Perhaps we will meet again." She bowed her head once again and headed to the training area.

She was soon greeted by an armory rack. Knowing that muggets prefer to hide and use stealth, Eiserne was already prepared with sets of throwing daggers hidden under her sleeves. However, just in case, she also took with her a one-handed sword and an iron whip. Prepared and ready, she waited for Iris to contact her. While she behaved in a regal and calm manner, Eiserne had a dark penchant for bloodshed and this was no exception. The worst she could do was leaving muggets in pieces, but she didn't seem to mind.

(( Nothing really. Most characters are on missions, so go down to Triana and she'll give you an assignment ))

Iris smiled as she heard the human's thoughts, finally making contact. Just walk about 30 meters forward into the forest, and turn a left. If you get lost, I'll guide you She smiled, nuzzling her eggs. She had two guardians, one ice, a few snow angels, four whites, and one red. She was always happily raising the eggs for Fashinu. A few rares she got a week, and raised them for a year. She had been here for over 80 years, ever since she was a tiny white egg.

She smiled and nudged her eggs to push them into the warmth in moss, sticks, leaves, and more. They were all alive.

=====================================================

Xeli looked at her ceiling, blinking. "I'll go have an assignment... Should I Kuyan?" She asked, looking over at the egg in it's incubator. She muttered and got onto her feet. She put on some jeans, a pink shirt, and brushed her hair down with a flower in it. She slipped little sandales on and suddenly heard cracking, shaking, and yelping. She turned to see a little muzzle sticking from her egg. "Oh!" She said in an excited voice.

Xeli ran up and watched as it broke the shell. A tiny little hatchling with no wings, yipping at her. He looked at the left over pancakes on her nightstand. "Are you allowed?" She asked, opening the incubator and taking him out. He was the size of her palm, tiny. "Okay... So you are a tiny pygmey Kuyan, aren't you? A male, yep" She smiled remembering the eggs heartbeat. She stroked its head with one finger. She walked over to the kitchen and took out some dragon chow. She fed him a litre, from her book.

Kuyan closed his eyes, yawning. He lowered his body into a heap and started to sleep. Xeli smiled and put him back into his heater. "Sleep then" She smiled, taking a small piece of pancake from her plate and placed next to him for when he woke up. She walked downstairs and to the desk.

Finally receiving guidance from Iris, Eiserne left the training room and headed towards the forest, taking careful steps as she made her way through the bushes and trees. Once she felt that she was at the right spot, she turned left and walked down the path. After a while, she could see an outline amongst the bushes. Making her way out, she saw a Silver Dragon with a lot of eggs under her care. She walked towards the dragoness and bowed politely to her.

Dillon stretched as she got out of bed and examined the egg she rescued the day before. It was a female judging by it's rapid heart-beat. She wondered when it would hatch and she smiled a little. She quickly put up her hair into long pigtails and went downstairs to get a mission from Triana.

Caleb watched as he took out two eggs from the incubator. He listened to Pete as he told them that the two eggs were special. They were a Sunstone and Moonstone dragon, but they were yin and yang. If one of them died, things could go wrong with the world, according to Pete. Caleb placed his ear next to the egg, it beated ever so slowly. It was a male, so he wondered if he should bring his own dragon. "Very well, let me gather a few things from my room and we'll set out by noon." Explained Caleb as he grabbed the egg and left the stable. He made his way back to the building and back to his room. Once he looked at the suit of armor, he sighed as he placed a hand on it. "Sir Gallant... Should I even be doing this? Would you approve, considering everything that happened" Thought Caleb, then remained silent for awhile.

Suddenly, he felt his leg being pushed slightly, he looked down and saw that it was his Hellfire Dragon, trying to get his attention. Caleb sighed as he bent down and grabbed the Dragon, she cooed at the attention. "Maya...I'll call you Maya" Said Caleb softly before he placed her on the bed and began to place several stuff in a backpack. Blankets, a book, water skins and healing powders. He then placed a knife on the side, grabbed Maya and left for the training room. After a few moments, he found it. He needed a crossbow and some bolts to hunt game in the forest. Once he got a crossbow and around 100 bolts, he left to find Kya.

After some instruction from a man in the stables Zack learned he was supposed to get an assignment from the person behind the desk. He walked through the door and stood in front of the desk, hoping it was the right place. What was his mission going to be? Would it be dangerous? Would it be boring? He glanced over at the two girls next to him. Who were they? He hefted his backpack which carried his egg a little higher on his back, wondering if all dragon eggs were this heavy. Why didn't I just steal a Pygmy egg? he wondered, knowing a Pygmy egg would be much lighter and easier to carry around.

Melody yawned as she woke up. Yesterday she stole an egg, joining the group of people who raise dragons and take care of them and not torture them like they are not even living beings. She looked at small, yellow egg. By its beating she predicted it will be female. She put her hand on it and stayed like that for few moments. Then she tied up her hair into ponytal and went down to Triana.

Dillon had left her egg in her room, so she was constantly wondering what would happen if it hatched. She looked at the people around her and grinned a little bit. She nodded a bit to the person next to her.

"I'm Dillon."

She said awkwardly.
