Posted September 8, 2011 Lol. Wait until the Enderman comes out. I'll never be playing on anything but peaceful ever when that comes out lol. Also Mr. Face from Amnesia: the Dark Descent. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 9, 2011 Heh, go minecraft (and I want the Enderman to show up once, then I go back to peaceful). redeads are probably up there with my favorite zelda monsters... lizalfos, dinolfos (dynalfos in Twilight Princess) and dodongos are all tied. They're all fun to bother Share this post Link to post
Posted September 9, 2011 Mr. Face is terrifying and yet so hilarious at the same time (hilarious because of internet memes and the like and the fact that people call him mr. face). Creepers have made me jump about eight feet in the air while playing minecraft in the dark before. Now I always play on peaceful unless I decide I need gunpowder or bones. The giant seaweed monster in the sunken ship level of Okami gave me nightmares for weeks and I still pretty much scream when I get to that part of the level. The bird things holding the umbrellas are probably the most annoying enemies, and when I first started playing Okami I was so angry with the yellow imps for going underground so much and being hard to kill. Posted September 9, 2011 I think the Minecraft skeletons have made me jump more than the creepers have. It's dark, dead silent, I slowly try to peek around the corner, all of the sudden you get an arrow shot at you. |D Waterwraiths from Pikmin 2 still creep me out. So do the Man-at-Legs. Those things are eeeeevil. ._. Share this post Link to post

Haha, my story exactly. Are you sure that Endermen won't be on Peaceful, too, since they start as neutral? I used to dread the Endermen, but now that I've learned that water hurts them, that they only attack if the + in the middle of the screen touches them, and that they won't attack at all if you wear a pumpkin on your head, I'm not so worried about them. Posted September 11, 2011 Add another one for redeads from me. The final boss in Final Fantasy X. I remember after going against it a couple times and then dying so fast that I realized there was NO way that I was ever going to beat it at my current level. That Jack N the Box Boss from Donkey Kong 64, where you have to hop from block to block and land on certain buttons, all while avoiding being zapped by landing on the wrong blocks. ANNOYING! I STILL remember that one semi-vividly, and I'm not one for remembering battles like that. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 11, 2011 I gotta sday that Skags and Psychos from BL and Rad Scorpions from F3 are my favorite Share this post Link to post
Posted September 11, 2011 Any Silent Hill monster, especially the Schisms (OMG, so scary and yet so cooool). Also, I'm very impressed with Twilight Princess' lineup of baddies and monsters, they have definitely gotten cooler and more mature-looking. Not that I didn't like the old Zelda games, I love them to bits, but it's always nice to see a breath of fresh air injected into a long-running series. I also rather like the monsters from Dementarium 2. I have yet to get Amnesia, but Mr. Face is undoubtedly epic. I mean, look at him! Mr. Meltyjaws definitely scores high on the creepy scale. Darksiders monsters are also beast (Stygian being just one example). Silitha scared the hell out of me, I am rather terrified of spiders. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 11, 2011 Creepy ugly video game monsters? I'll say the husks from mass effect. They just make this creepy sound and suddenly they are at you and you're dying. D: Good monsters, I think I will nominate the dragons from the Dragon Age games. Heheheh. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 12, 2011 Oooh, just thought of another one. Those zombie drones from Jet Force Gemini. You have to blow them up to kill them. You can't just shoot them, you have to actually blow them up. D: I think you can use a machine gun on the smaller ones, it just takes a lot longer. And the make these creepy noises...and they're everywhere on Tawfret. They freaked me out soooo much when I was a kid... -.- Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 This thing is one of the most memorable enemies I can... well... remember. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) I tend to like the monsters from the Tales of games. I love the Fenrir from ToS2, and the Orion. And a few of the dragon ones. <3 And I love the Gold Wolf I ran into in TotA. <3<3 So fluffy and shiny looking! I also like some of the designs of various Heartless from the Kingdom Hearts series ReDeads in any form disturb me, though. </3 Edited September 13, 2011 by KageSora Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) Like-likes from the Zelda series. They gave me a hell of a time on Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages - they ate my shield, and unlike like-likes in other Zelda games, killing them NEVER got it back. So many rupees lost... >.< I do like the Chuchus of Twilight Princess, too. They look less... childish than in older Zelda games. Amorphous blobs for the win. Oh, and the bosses up in the Pharos at Ridoranna on FFXII (Only Final Fantasy game I like aside from FFX) were some of my favorite bosses. They each pertain to one of the Celestial Beasts of Chinese and Japanese lore. For example, the Phoenix is Suzaku/Feng Huang, and Slyt is Seiryu/Long. Speaking of FFXII, my favorite overall boss/mark from that game has to be Gilgamesh. He's so funny, yet a good challenge. Level 62, and he's a lengthy fight, unlike other Rank VII marks or Rank 3 Espers. "Your weapons are forfeit to me!" - my favorite thing Gilgamesh says. He just made an internet reference. ETA:: How can redeads disturb you? They're not even real members of the undead. Oh, speaking of redeads, if you play Majora's Mask, wear the Gibdo mask in front of redeads, and they DANCE. <3 Edited September 13, 2011 by Tetra Kataki Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 Walking gems from the Thieves' Den level of Spyro Enter the Dragonfly scared the crap out of me when I first played that game. I also never liked Berserker Nobodies from KHII. Those things were beasts >.> Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 My favorite are the leetle cute (deadly) turrets from the Portal series, followed by creepers. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 Id agree with wonton about the turrets, those little guys are awesome! I don't know if anyone plays Dragon Quest, but I love all the slimes to... I don't know why it's just hard to hate something that always smiles at you. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 13, 2011 hmm...silent hill had some of the most gut wrenching monsters ive ever seen, like...they scare the poo outta me. my favorite is Asphyxia from silent hill 3, her body is of bodys coming out of the necks. its weird...but amazing, i live for having the poo scared outta me Share this post Link to post

You know, I almost forgot about those! They're so adorable. If only those little squishies were real. And everyone keeps talking about the undead. If you consider Resident Evil 4's foes undead, then those monks in the castle with rocket launchers are pretty hard to forget. Unless you snipe them, it won't be easy to get through a room with them without using a healing item. That's why I love the semi-auto rifle and scope. > w < Oh! Who plays Shin Megami Tensei? I played Strange Journey once, and the one demon that always comes to mind is Rakshasa. Talking to them is a little fun, but their name is even more entertaining to say - so says my little brother. Of course, I did enjoy sweeping away foes with my custom Pale Rider - immune to what he was weak against thanks to fusion materials. Mwahaha. Foes never knew what hit them. Posted September 14, 2011 I have to say, not scary monsters, but Kremlings are a really cool range of video game critters (kritters). (or at least through the donkey kong country series) Kackle, the ghost kremling that chases you in the one haunted roller coaster level in Donkey Kong Country 2 is pretty creepy though, especially when you run out of time and it kills you and laughs. I loved the pirate themed ones the best. Pirates make everything better. Share this post Link to post

Oh, speaking of redeads, if you play Majora's Mask, wear the Gibdo mask in front of redeads, and they DANCE. <3[/color] Probably because the first time I encountered a redead, I was playing WW and the scream it made freaked me the out so hard, I still can't get over how creepy they are. Then the way they attack you in OOT just... Bad thoughts... D: Share this post Link to post

Anyways, on the topic of DKC2, those things in the coats that throw barrels made me ragequit a few times, particularly on the bramble levels. Also Amnesia's monsters are scary as hell. I still haven't finished that game... Share this post Link to post
Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) The green ghosts from Banjo Kazooie in Mad Monster Mansion. They used to creep me out soooo bad. 'Specially in the maze outside the mansion...because they could go through the walls... ._. Edited September 14, 2011 by Ali'i Makani Pahili Share this post Link to post
Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Like people have already said, the Silent Hill monsters are amazing. Special shoutout to the Doublehead/Twin monster in SH4. If you know what I'm talking about, you know they're horrific, especially as they don't attack you until you get up close to them. They'll just stand and point at you, their finger tracking your location, whispering "Receiver" over and over. In the SH4 opening trailer they don't make their trademark growling sound but rather a baby's cry, but this was removed from the monsters ingame due to the developers thinking it would be too disturbing. Like how Mary's screams when she was being suffocated by James in SH2 were cut from the final product for the same reason. The ghosts in the Fatal Frame / Project Zero series are memorable too, especially the Kusabi in 2 (he wasn't that good in 3...), Man with Long Arms in 1, Stroller Grandma in 3 (strollers gonna stroll). Another special mention goes to the hidden ghost, Hands from Floor, in FF1. It's the music and the fact it can appear anywhere that is disturbing. Finally I think all the enemies in the Devil May Cry series (apart from 2, and many from 3) are worth mentioning. Awesome designs and the ability to seriously hurt you if you don't know what you're doing. The Shadows in 1 will always remain my favourite, followed closely by the Death Scythes, and an honourable mention to the Blitzes in 4. Ass kickers extraordinaire.
