Posted January 24, 2013 Team Silver needs some clarification I had a message from Leap this morning about a egg that she was asked to breed as replacement. Now she bred said egg -> http://dragcave.net/lineage/lMhH5 and stated it should be a replacement for catstaff (replacing Last_Chance on Team GoldenRod). But she was also a bit confused and asked me to have a look at the egg and the spreadsheet. Now I'm not entirely sure myself. But isn't that egg the wrong generation? The egg is a sibling to her own self bred 7th gen - so it would only qualify as a replacement if someone replaced Leap, right? So she actually should have bred a sibling to her 6th gen egg, I suppose? Or did I mess things even more? Help? Share this post Link to post

If you compare the lineage of that egg with Last_Chance's self-bred Gen7, you'll see that the grandparents are the same (both parents are sibs). Normally I would have preferred asking Leap for a Gen6 trade egg and replacing the Gen6 bred egg from the person dropping out or the Gen5 partner, but in this case both are MIA. Doing it this way preserves as much of the lineage as possible. Leap will also be asked to breed a Gen7 'trade' egg for Catstaff when Goldenrod is ready. Does that help? Share this post Link to post

ETA: I also wanted to apologize for my absence over the last week or so, of course as soon as I said I'd be around, real life reared up and smacked me in the face.
