A Lineage Project Humankind's awareness of magic, and their efforts to use it to enhance life, are ancient and universal, and have been part of all religious systems. Magical systems and philosophies have developed around the world, with volumes of literature written about them. Many dragons are also magic users, and this is a lineage to commemorate them. The dragons chosen as "Magic users" with varying degrees of different Powers,are considered to be given such great gifts only as long as they dont abuse it & use it with respect & wisdom ,which ALL magicians must utilize,whether on two legs and "human,or gifted with powers of flight and/or telepathy instead of speech.Respect them,and they will help you create much beauty in your lineages...underestimate your dragons at your own risk....! Rules Just post to join and request an egg from one of the starting pairs. The dragon's names must somehow relate to magic. While there are many dragon breeds to chose from, you must start out with an egg that is descendant from at least one of the starting pairs. After that, any of the allowed breeds can be bred into the lineage. While nothing is written in stone in this lineage...it is strongly urged that you name each of your "magic" dragons gifted from this thread,if the other breeds used in your lineages dont get named,that is your decision ...but, We do ask that ANY "magic" dragons adopted as offspring of these lists be well named... it isnt enforceable,just strongly recommended It is preferable that you breed the dragons in an even or stair-step line. No inbreeding. Use the forms to announce any new additions to the lineage, and to donate eggs you no longer want. Please put this in your post when you become a member: "I AGREE TO FOLLOW ALL LINEAGE RULES!" Have fun! Starting Pairs These are the founders of the lineage. All other dragons will be descendants of these....which will be the starting ancestry,although with time & using other allowed breeds its obviously not possible to keep ALL offspring as direct ancestors or inbreeding would run rampant!! It doesn't matter, if one gender is all CBs, the breeds don't matter at all. Spiral - The CB dragons to continue the line alternate genders. There are also staggered version of these, where 2-3 CB dragons will be one gender, then it switches. It can also be a spiral if the breeds change, like V2 and V3 of the stairstep above, although the pattern is not as clear in those cases. Even Generation - All CB dragons are in the same generation, resulting in a lineage where every single dragon possible is filled in for its generation. Purebred - All dragons in the lineage are the same species. Purebred, V2 - Most people also consider this purebred, as well, since it's the same species, just different colorations. Some people would call this "Alternating Purebred" since each generation is the same color. Generally coloration doesn't matter, only breed. This affects ridgewings, dorsals, blacks/alt blacks, vines/alt vines, nebula coloration, or stripes. Some people consider hybrids/bred-only breeds as purebred if all but the first generation are the hybrid or bred-only breed. Others only if the first generation of CBs follow the same pattern. Others don't consider it purebred at all. That's more a matter of opinion. Checkerboard - One gender is always one breed, while the other gender is a different breed. These are usually even-gen. There are also mirrors (V1: where the pattern is mirrored in the last generation; for example if the checkerboard above was mated to a male magi where all males were magi and all females were red; V2: where the colors are mirrored to some sort of "opposite," like this not-quite perfect foil - Frilled Braig should be a Green Earth; V3: where the pattern is repeated back with the same or similarly-colored dragons or patterns, like if the tinsel stairstep from the first example gendered incorrectly ("misgendered"), and was mated with another stairstep of the same generation and similar colors, as in this example.) Inbred - This is a severe example, since the 2nd gens are brother and sister, but if a dragon has any duplicate ancestors in its lineage, it's considered inbred. Some people purposely inbreed siblings together and create long-lineaged gorgeous patterns. But really, only your imagination is the limit. If you think it will be pretty, go ahead and try it. The latest accepted breeds Im proposing are these... #1. SHADOW-WALKER dragons(a very ghostly,but able to breed with other dragons,and only with other shadow-walkers during the season that they were released(like all/most of the holiday releases) They are not known to be violent,and are more likely to posess "magical" qualities..as they are able to appear,and vanish at will...any negative replies to this dragon as a lineage breed,please feel free to post,and/or PM me directly. #2.TERRAE DRAGONS A very mellow and non violent herbivore..able to breed with other breeds,found in areas with many leafy trees,and vegetarian food sources for these quiet dragons. If there are any questions,all "seasonal",holiday dragons,and last release of all 3 breeds(LUMINAS,TSUNAMIS,ULTRA-VIOLETS) are all allowed..the list of allowed breeds can be found on first page of thread,IN FIRST POST,AND IN THE UPDATE PAGE ANY QUESTIONS,please contact MYSELF,feel free to POST YOUR FEELINGS..and we will make further decisions if neccssary..for now,the two dragons ABOVE,SHADOW-WALKER,TERRAE dragons aree allowed as accepted breeds as of August6th,2012... Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) To any who were confused,the maji egg isnt a starter egg..just a donated maji to the lineage! On the OTHER hand,YES..the WHITE PAIR is our last starting pair(and to be sure of no refusals, I always breed the pair first,and their first 'magic' offspring IS up for donation(and will also be a starter egg)! Hope that clears it up..the new white pair have been added to the list of starting pairs..so..Im hoping grammydragon will decide to take it,as she requested it first! Its overnight updates so I would get it done ,& you guys would be able to see newst edits first thing! Rockin' On PS..I also have the first offspring of all the first starting pairs,as lineage had not gotten started up yet..and when Jayme requested her egg,the last egg had just grown up..so, in case anyone wants a mate(after they have required first egg),I can breed the first starter pair (s) for them..or they can wait & adopt their OWN,let it grow & THEN breed it!!
