Route 1

 

A pacific grassland route. It takes about a full day to get across of it and reach Pring Town. Green grasslands can be seen all around it. Almost at the end of it there is a pond in where you can try to catch some water pokemon...

Serena grinned at the kid as he took off running for Route One to Pring town. She was pretty much ready to head out of town herself, and as she headed down the street headed out of town, she realized why the one boy in the lab had seemed so familiar. He was Morty... Morty Shimizu, she had heard that his family was not only VERY rich, but VERY important as well and that they lived in a big mansion and had servants and fancy gardens and all sorts of stuff. She had to admit, it was cool that he was becoming a trainer, but she was surprised that his parents had let him.

 

As she reached the edge of town, Serena grinned... she was in for a great big adventure and with her loyal Pansear, Soot she was sure she was in for a whole lot of fun! As she looked out over the open fields of route on with Soot riding on her shoulder and chattering busily in her ear, she felt like a real Pokemon trainer for the first time ever and it was awsome. Then she remembered that she owed her sisters a phone call and quickly grabbed her pokegear to dial home. She simled as the phone rang as she walked along.

"He-hey! Wait up!" Madison exclaimed as she took off after the others. That's what she got for trying to make better friends with Snivy, everyone just left her behind.

 

Snivy followed along, though she looked rather annoyed by the whole state of affairs. Still, her trainer seemed... somewhat capable, it beat being stuck in the pokeball. And she was quite eager to battle, she was already sizing up opponents.

 

"Sni!" Snivy cried out, using her stubby arms to grab on to Madison's shirt.

 

"Hm? What- oh," Madison said, looking at what Snivy had noticed- another trainer and his Mudkip practicing moves. Snivy's tail leaves had perked up more than usual, and she seemed ready for a battle.

Morty replied to James, ”Well sure thing! We may be facing each other if we take part in the upcoming tournament!” With that, he turned his attention to the girl named Serena, who had just introduced herself. He didn’t say much, being shy towards girls, for a rather weird and unknown reason even to himself. Perhaps it was just due to the lack of relationship skills with girls, which his lonely upbringing caused. He just smiled and took out his PokeDex and let it scan Pansear, the High Temp pokemon, a Fire type, as evidenced from both its colour and name.

 

When he saw James, Serena and the girl with the Snivy, all exiting the laboratory, he hesitated for a while. Aren’t you ready to go yet? Cyto asked in concern. Morty shook his head, Well, if you’re ready, then so am I! He managed a smile and tried to look as confident as possible. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem rather convincing, even more so as Cyto knew what he was thinking. Regardless, Cyto decided to give his partner his fullest support. Alright! Let’s go then! Cyto said. Morty nodded his head and walked towards Route 1, the first route of his journey.

 

Along the way, he saw a trainer and his Mudkip practicing. He didn’t really take interest in them, seeing them as just a hardworking trainer and his hardworking pokemon. He walked further and further, almost out of Nut Town already. He caught a glimpse of his house and tears began welling up in his eyes once again. Cyto said, C’mon Morty, don’t be like that! You have to stay strong! Morty could only nod and broke out into a run, tears streaming down his eyes.

 

--(on Route 1)--

 

Cyto finally caught up, Morty was lying beneath a tree, although his tears have dried up, his face remained as sombre as ever. Cyto finally couldn’t take it anymore and used Psywave on Morty, Cyto’s eyes glowed light blue and light blue rings of the same colour were fired from it body, aimed at Morty. Morty was shocked as he got hit and shouted, ”What did you do that for!” Cyto replied nonchalantly, Good, you’re awake. Morty realised his mistake, after a few prompts from the Cell pokemon, and apologised to Cyto, promising that he would try his very best to remain positive about his very own pokemon journey. Morty finally realised that he was in Route 1, with all the tall grass and wild pokemon running around. He gave a smile towards Cyto, who graciously returned the smile.

woshiico0kie ~ As Morty and Cyto were happyly enjoying the momment of finally arriving at Route 1, a wild Spearow(lvl 3) came across them. The pkmn was flying happily infront of them carrying some berries, probably to eat them later

James and Phanpy finally made it to Route 1 and smiled at each other. "You ready Phanpy?" Phanpy replied with a nod and they headed off into Route 1 looking for an opponant to challege them. After some time James' legs started to grow tired and he climbed onto phanpy who was happy to carry the young trainer.

monkeyboy ~ It haven't pass much time since Phanpy began carrying James when they came across a wild Zigzagoon(lvl 3). The wild pkmn, not used to people Growled at them and prepared itself to attack them...

Morty noticed something flying above them, a pokemon! It was carrying some berries as well. Cyto noticed it too. Morty pointed his PokeDex towards the pokemon and it was identified as a Spearow, the Tiny Bird pokemon, a dual Normal and Flying type. Morty decided that he should initiate a battle, since Cyto has yet to battle any other pokemon. Morty didn’t really want to catch it though, as he didn’t really like Spearows. Cyto knew what Morty was thinking of and nodded his head in agreement. It seemed to be alone, which was a rather good time to attack, as Morty didn't want to provoke a whole flock of Spearow!

 

Let’s go, Cyto! Quickly! Before it escapes! Use Psywave! As Morty gave the command to Cyto, once again, the Cell pokemon’s eyes glowed light blue and light blue rings were fired from its body, this time, aimed towards the Spearow. Hopefully the attack will land and Spearow will be dealt some damage if it got hit.

As James was riding Phanpy there was a rustling in the bushes and suddenly a zigzagoon burst out in front of them. James didn't need to pull out his pokedex for this pokemon since it was common to the area and there were plently of them around. The zigzagoon growled at James and Phanpy, which gave the intention that it wanted to start a fight. James felt Phanpy tense under him and he slid off of Phanpy to lighten him up. "Okay Phanpy, looks like this is our first battle as partners." Phanpy gave his agreement and waited for James to give his orders. "Phanpy lets start this off, use tackle." Phanpy charged forward at the wild zigzagoon, James knew that zigzagoons could be fast but he hoped that Phanpy's strength could beat zigzagoon's speed.

woshiico0kie ~ The Psywave hit directly over Spearow throwing the bird to the ground. Instictively Spearow incorporated and looked around to see who or what have done this to it. The tiny bird noticed the boy and the green floating thing infront of it, the bird figured they were responsible for what had hapened to it and Growled at them before taking flight and Peck the Solosis all around...

 

monkeyboy ~ Zigzagoon noticed the small elephant running towards it and decided to do the same. Zigzagoon charged at Phanpy with a Tackle too, but to it's unfortune-ness, the Phanpy was clearly stronger than it, but Zigzagoon's previous Growl made the attack of the ground type lower so it wasn't that bad. Both pkmn flew in opposite directions due to the impact and Zigzagoon Growled at it0s foe after recovering...

Phanpy hit the ground and folded its ears close to its body so that the growl wouldn't affect him this time. "Phanpy use defense curl and thank use tackle again." Phanpy rolled into a ball which a shimmering outline that meant he was using defense curl and than started to roll at zigzagoon before unrolled and using that momentum to speed Phanpy up so that the tackle would have more power behind it.

Morty gave Cyto the thumbs up sign when the attack scored a direct hit, glad to have damaged the Spearow. When the Spearow Growled, Morty knew it would be no use towards Cyto, since Psywave relies more on Special Attack rather than on Attack. However, Cyto was being Pecked, Morty commanded Cyto to try and dodge some of the Pecks that were hitting him. After that vicious attack by that Spearow, Cyto was clearly unhappy. Now, use Psywave once more! Once again, Cyto’s eyes glowed light blue and light blue rings were fired towards the Spearow. Morty hoped that this attack would finally knock that Spearow out, seeing that Cyto had taken quite a bit of damage. Anticipating further physical attacks, Morty decided to command Cyto to use Reflect, Cyto’s eyes glowed light blue again and a clear “glass” wall appeared in front of it. Hopefully that would reflect back some of the damage dealed by Spearow, letting it have a taste of its own medicine.

monkeyboy ~ When the Growl didn't affected Phanpy, Zigzagoon didn't knoe what to do. Phanpy rolled in a defense position, this made Zigzagoon believe it had the upperhand in the battle and began running towards the small elephant again... terrible mistake. Phanpy began rolling against it and unrolled before Zigzagoon usind the roll speed to power-up the Tackle, now the difference of strengths was noticebale as Zigzagoon flew in the air hit by Phanpy before it could land it's attack. The racoon like pkmn fell to the ground defeated and almost without energy...

"Great job Phanpy. Now let's finish the job. Use tackle one more time." James told phanpy in an excited voice. Phanpy sensed his trainers energy and trumpited his victory before starting into another charge which was meant to be a finishing move.

woshiico0kie ~ Eventually the Solosis escaped Spearow's Pecks and moved aside. The tiny bird stood in the air awaiting for anything the psychic pkmn might try. Solosis used another Psywave over it and being Spearow unable to avoid it, got hit square by it and, again fell to theg ground. The flying type incorporated agian, and with more anger than anything else, flew in the air and charged at Cyto to land more Pecks on him. It was until they were face to face that Spearow noticed something, an almost invisible wall was standing infront of Cyto to protect him of more attacks. Spearow tried to avoid hit the Reflect, but it was too late and crashed against it, ultimately, causing the bird pkmn to fall to the ground... again, but this defeated...

 

monkeyboy ~ With Zigzagoon unable to fight back, Phanpy's Tackle send him flying in the air and landed on some tall grass far away from the young trainer and his pokemon...

Jayune Kinz woke up in her bed. It was so soft and warm. She didn't want to get up. A lazy smile made it's way across her face. Her birthday party had been so fun! They had candy apples dipped in chocolate and a movie and super buttery popcorn and-

 

Jayune suddenly sat up so fast black spots appeared in front of her eyes. It had been her birthday. She was ten now. Which meant she was supposed to start her pokemon journey. She glanced at the clock. It read 9:45. Which also meant she was late.

 

"LATE?!" Jayune cried. "Urk! I forgot!"

 

She quickly changed and grabbed her green and white striped scarf. Running downstairs, she quickly tied her hair up using two green hair ties. She grabbed a fruit flat and ran out the door.

 

"Honey!" It was her mom. "You forgot your bag!"

 

"Gah!" Jayune ran back to her room. She had prepacked it yesterday hadn't she? Where WAS it? Jayune looked around her cluttered room.

 

There!

 

She scooped it up leafed quickly through the contents. Everything was there. Jayune ran back downstairs and quickly kissed her parents goodbye. pulling on her sneakers, she was out the door in a matter of seconds.

 

Checking her pokegear, it read 9: 52. Seven minutes? Hey not bad!

 

At the professor's lab, she ran in panting and trying to talk at the same time.

 

"Sor..I'm late, pro...sor I..ept too..ong."

 

Jayune took a few breaths before speaking again. "Sorry I'm late professor. I slept too long. Can I still get a pokemon?"

 

The professor smiled "Yes. This computer chooses your partner Pokemon based on your personality," he explained. "Just place your hand on the scanner and it will display 3 Pokemon for your choosing."

 

"Okay." Jayune was relieved. She placed her had on the complicated looking machine's scanner.

 

"I'm ready!"

Morty congratulated Cyto on the win, both grinning with joy. Now, Cyto had his first battle experience! We’ll only get stronger after this, don’t you think, Cyto? Morty asked. Cyto just nodded, he felt quite tired and Morty noticed it too, he said, Why don’t you take a well deserved rest? With that, Morty took out Cyto’s pokeball and a beam of red light appeared from the centre of the PokeBall. Cyto was then safely returned into his pokeball, recuperating from his very first battle. Morty put Cyto’s pokeball in his pocket, separate from the rest of his empty pokeballs, should he find the need to call upon Cyto’s help again, it would be more convenient.

Phanpy jumped in triumph and ran back to James almost knocking him over in the process. "You did great Phanpy. Don't worry we have a whole day to train before we have to head to Pring Town, so let's not waste all of your energy right now." He told Phanpy who nodded in agreement and settled down. James pulled out his pokedex which rescanned Phanpy and told James that Phanpy could now use flail. "Come on Phanpy, let's go find your next victim." He said as he matted Phanpy's head.

Rainbow_Joy ~ The screen whirled around black shapes of potential Pokemon. Like a casino slot machine, the three slots started to fill up with the dark sillouetts. BEEP! The first pokemon appeared and the computer spoke.

 

"Magby, the Live Coal Pokémon. Magby's state of health is determined by observing the fire it breathes. If the Pokémon is spouting yellow flames from its mouth, it is in good health. When it is fatigued, black smoke will be mixed in with the flames."

 

The computer continued to spin through the slots. BEEP! The second Pokemon was chosen.

 

"Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon. Sandshrew has a very dry hide that is extremely tough. The Pokémon can roll into a ball that repels any attack. At night, it burrows into the desert sand to sleep."

 

Once again the computer spun its last slot. BEEP! The final Pokemon was chosen.

 

"Swablu, the Cotton Bird Pokémon. Swablu loves to make things clean. If it spots something dirty, it will wipe and polish it with its cottony wings. If its wings become dirty, this Pokémon finds a stream and showers itself."

Jayune studied the three pokemon. They weren't the exact ones she'd been wanting, but they were good.

 

She knew magby would eventually evolve into a magmortar, which was incredibly strong.

 

Sandshrew was cute and it's armor like scales were good for defense.

 

Swablu was like a cloud. Squishy and fluffy always clean.

 

"Which one, which one?" Jayune couldn't decide.

 

She spun around with her eyes closed and pressed a random button with her hand.

 

"Sandshrew" The voice spoke. Jayune sighed. Sandshrew, good, she had made her decision.

Rainbow_Joy ~ having noticed the newly arrived girl had made her choice, Prof. Pine got to the closet and took a pokedex and five empty pokeballs. He then returned where she was and handed them to her "well, now you can begin your journey" he said. He was going to leave her and do some of his chores when he remembered the event at Pring Town "oh! I almost forgot, in Pring Town, at the north of this town, is going to be and event in about two days, I not know if you want to go for the Gym Battles or for the Pokemon Contests, but in that event they will have both so you can join them and have some fun before any real Gym Battle or Contest" he said smiling at the girl. Then he turned around and took a page from the desk and handed it to the girl, it was a flyer containing the information of the event he was talking about.

Jayune scanned the sheet.

"Great! Thank you so much Professor Pine!"

She left and walked to the edge of the long grass.

Letting the Sandshrew out of its pokeball, she squatted and patted its head.

"We're going to win it all."

James was still near the edge of Route 1 with Phanpy as they looked for Phanpy's next opponent when he saw a girl around his age standing at the edge of the tall grass with a sandshrew. He gave Phanpy a look and the small elephant-like pokemon gave him a shrug or as close as Phanpy could come to giving a shrug. "Well if you say so Phanpy. Lets go make some new friends." And with that he approached the girl and the sandshrew stepping out of the tall grass a few yards away. "Hi there, I'm James and this is Phanpy." He said with a smile as he introduced them.

Morty continued on his journey, rather excited now, since he had experience his first pokemon battle. Although it wasn’t with another trainer, it was still a tough fight. He thought that Cyto had done well for his first pokemon battle too. Morty wasn’t too sure that Cyto could hold out for another battle, so he went around the trees and bushes searching for Oran Berries that might help Cyto recover a bit. He had forgotten about the berries that the Spearow he defeated, having already left them behind, he decided not to make the trip back to retrieve them, fearing that more Spearows might attack him. He found a few of the Oran Berries hanging from a tree just nearby and decided to check it out.

 

When he reached there, he found the blue Oran Berries to be quite far up the tree, but decided to try and climb the tree anyways. No matter how hard he tried, he just could not get a grip and fell down every time. He was thinking about giving up when he remembered that he was gathering the berries for his partner, whom he cared so much about. That gave him more energy and he tried yet again. This time, he managed to get to the Oran Berries. He picked a few and carefully made the descent back to the ground. He then called out Cyto from his PokeBall and asked him with a concerned smile on his face, Cyto, will you eat some of these Oran Berries? They’re good for you. Cyto opened his mouth and took a few bites of an Oran Berry, then, he smiled and said,Thanks Morty, I feel a lot better now! Morty smiled again and put the remaining Oran Berries in his backpack, which he may need later. Cyto floated to Morty’s shoulder once again and they began to walk on the path towards Prig Town again.
