Posted July 4, 2011 Kator's words lashed out at Nylaea's heart. As his electric power grew, she felt a small shock in her fingers, making her release his arm. "At least let me make it to where he won't feel any pain," she begged him. Nylaea walked over to the barely conscious Roachii and knelt down. Leaning over to whisper in his ear, she softly sang a Roachii lullaby her mother had taught her and placed one hand one his forehead and the other over his heart. As she sang, she stirred up her ice magic and let it flow into the man's body, cooling all the water in his body so that he would be numb to any pain that Kator's kill stroke could create. A few minutes later, Nylaea stood up, turned and walked swiftly past Kator, keeping her face turned away from him. "Make it a quick death," she said coldly. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 4, 2011 "Easy," he muttered, his eyes flashing the same color as his electricity for a moment. He pointed at the man, releasing the bolt from his grasp. It leaped to the Roahii, killing him instantly. There was barely anything of the man left. Only a few charred bones and a dark circle around them. Kator pushed them out of the cage, throwing one hard at Erchi, who turned and blocked it. Kator sat in a corner, deep in thought. How was he getting out of here? He felt hunger starting to gnaw at him. He hadn't eaten in a few days. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 4, 2011 ((You haven't had Erchii do anything in a while. And someone needs to release them soon! lol Before the evil man comes back....muahahaaahaa!!)) The hair on Nylaea's arms stood up for a moment as Kator released his power. After the deed was done, Nylaea could smell burned flesh and it made her gag. She didn't want to turn around and look at the remains for fear of vomiting, so she walked to the opposite corner of the cell and sat staring at the wall. Nylaea was so tired of having to watch her people die, both at the hands of the humans and of her own kind, Lyryu and Roachii. Nylaea was angry, with the world and it's problems, with the humans hating her people, and with her people fighting amongst themselves instead of against the humans. She clenched her hands tightly. Posted July 5, 2011 Erchi slowly climbed the ladder, his body stiff. He walked across a few halls, getting to the barracks. "One of you is keeping watch. I'm going to bed," he growled, walking over to a cot and lying down, his face buried in it. Erchi relaxed. They would take care of them.... Little did he know, his guard was about to do no such thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kator lay down on his cot, his arms crossed underneath his head. He stared at the ceiling as if it was waiting to unveil some hidden secret inside of it. When he watched the guard go and no others come down, he leapt to the bars. "Girl! Girl with rainbow wings! Get us out of here! It's now or never," he hissed, his hands gripping the bars of his cell. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 5, 2011 Nylaea could hear Kator yelling at the Lyryu girl outside their cage, telling her to let them out. She didn't think that the girl would do it; she served the king after all. So Nylaea just sat there, not moving. If by some miracle they were let out, she would go. But she doubted that anything like that would occur. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 5, 2011 Kator and Nylaea killed the odd man easily and were now yelling at her. Erchi had left for his break so she was now alone. "Girl! Girl with rainbow wings! Get us out of here! It's now or never." Kator was yelling at her. "I have a name." Veidera growled. "It's Veidera if you'd like to know. And I'll try to get you out. Not sure if I can." She examined the lock on the cell. Bring up her hand, she froze the lock and tried to crack it. I didn't work. "Course I didn't get mom's fire ability." She muttered quietly to herself. "I'll get you some food." She told the two lyryus. "Then I'll help you out." Veidera pulled herself up the ladder and ran into the Kitchen. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 5, 2011 Nylaea felt the air cool as Veidera used ice magic, then heard a dull clinking as she tried to break the lock. "Pathetic," Nylaea said as she got up. "You've got to freeze it all the way through if you are to have any hope of shattering it. And it's easier to freeze it if you pour water over it because the water will run through the inside of the lock, wetting all the little cogs and niches. Of course, you don't have to use water." With that, Nylaea pricked the top of her index finger with one of her fangs. Squeezing the finger, blood began to trickle down her hand. She held the finger over the lock and let her blood drop down into it. When she had enough in the lock, she sealed the prick with just a tiny bit of her healing magic and knelt down so her face was level with the now wet lock. Concentrating, she tapped into her ice power and breathed on the lock, exhaling ice cold fog that refroze the lock, this time all the way through. "Now you can smash it," she said as she motioned Kator over to the lock. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 6, 2011 "With what? You can smash the lock with your fist as well as I can. And if you mean my powers, I'd just heat the thing up," he said, though he already started to crush the lock. "If you could do that the whole time, why didn't you do that a few minutes ago?" he asked, his eyes narrowed. "And what use is getting out to me anyway? I can't fly as of now. I'll have to run away on foot and that won't end well." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 6, 2011 "Because a few minutes ago, there was still a guard here and I still haven't recovered all of my energy yet; I'll need to feed for that to happen. If you wanted to fight him without the use of your wing, you should've said so. However I seriously doubt you wanted to risk reinjuring it," she replied with a little more edge than she had initially intended. "And for the flying thing, we probably shouldn't fly out of here anyways because that will just attract attention and you wouldn't want to get shot twice in one day would you? We have to find a way to sneak out." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 6, 2011 Veidera crept down into the dungeon again, clutching two crossants and one of the apple turnovers she had let Erchi try. Nylaea had frozen the lock with her blood inside. They were discussing how to sneak away when they broke it. "I-I brought some food for you. If you want to escape, you need to keep up your energy, right?" Veidera did a nervous laugh. "I don't know if you're allergic to anything but..." She held out the two crossants and the turnover out to Kator and Nylaea. "They're still hot. The turnover is apple. I thought you might like some pastries." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 6, 2011 "Maybe that girl could help us. And-er- thanks, Nylaea. I'm sorry for being rather cold. I just...." he sighed, slowly opening the door and looking out. He stepped quietly outside, turning and looking at the other prisoners. "What do you think all of them are in here for," he whispered, his eyes traveling over the faces. "Do you think they're imprisoned for no reason, like us?" He turned as Veidera came back down into the dungeon. "Can you help us escape?" he asked, his eyes anxious, lest she tell. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 6, 2011 Veidera nodded. "I can help." She motioned her head at the others in the dungeon. "They aren't imprisoned for being different like you. Don't let them out. Most of them are murderers, kidnappers, burglars, people with not very clean lifestyles that revolve around bad stuff to put it simply. You two are the first different colored Kiichin I've ever seen. It's fascinating to see someone so alike but so different." Veidera stopped for a moment. Did I just... offend them? "But I mean it in a good way!" She blurted out quickly. "I know you're anxious, but I won't tell, I promise!" She held out the food again. The buttered crossant was starting to drip over her hand. "I know you're probably very hungrey. I have food for you. And it's not poisoned! I promise! It's fresh too! So, um, please eat!" Veidera extended the food towards Kator again. "I'm sorry for not being able to help when your wing was broken." She apologized. "Can we be friends?" Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 ((Lol I think we totally have an Inuyasha-Kagome attitude vibe thing going on between Nylaea and Kator. Pack, were Kator's parents Roachii or Lyryu?)) "It's fine," Nylaea said coldly. Still upset with what had happened with the Roachii man, she wasn't ready yet to forgive Kator, but she wasn't going to tell him that. Nylaea walked outside the cell and saw Veidera returning, carrying pastries. She heard what she took to be fear in Veidera's voice as she spoke to them, and Nylaea felt satisfaction at that, though she didn't know why. Her mother hadn't been like many Roachii; she had been caring and loving, not showing a blood thirst that Nylaea had witnessed in others of her mother's kind. But her mother had warned her that with her Roachii blood came a sort of bloodlust, and some Roachii even relished in the pain of others. Nylaea had never experienced those feelings when she was younger, but as she had grown older and matured, she had occassionally felt them. Since her mother died before she could teach Nylaea about restraining those feelings, she had trouble controlling them. Thankfully, the dark of the dungeon corridor hid the slight smile on her face and she was able to restore an emotionless facade before Veidera could notice it. "I don't trust her. She works for the humans. Besides blood is the only thing that will help you heal your wing Kator. Human food is useless to us, though it may taste good," she sneered. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 (edited) Username: Lady Evirae Character Name: Rawien Gender: Female Race: Roachii Age: Looks 18, but she is really 52 years old Appearance: Rawien With white bat-wings and tail. She often has strings of rose petals tied together around her tail. She enjoys wearing next to nothing, the only clothes usually being black or blood red. Personality: Rawien is cunning, manipulative, and completely evil. She is savage and self-centered, seeking power for herself. She believes that the Roachii are the superior race and that all creatures, especially Lyryu and humans, are beneath them and should serve the Roachii. She views humans as nothing more than another food source and the basest of slaves. Rawien will fight for the liberation of the Roachii for the sole purpose of taking over as their all-powerful queen. Magic: When Rawien was an adolescent Roachii, she chose not to focus her magical training in the elements. Instead, she centered her studies on the more arcane and psychic, honing a sort of telepathic ability. This allows her to read weak minds like a book, but she can only feel the emotions and possible intentions of stronger minds. She also uses her mental abilities to accentuate her manipulative and deceitful skills, and to make others more susceptible to her "charms." Rawien is a master of seduction and can get almost anyone, male and female, to do what she wants. Rawien has a small amount of control of plants, but she mostly just uses it to grow thorned vines and roses, especially black and blood red ones. Thoughts about the War: Rawien enjoys war and battle, though she often lets others do her fighting for her. (However, she's far from weak.) She thirsts for blood and also seeks to use this war to assert the Roachii's dominance over the rest of the world. Bio/History: Rawien grew up in a Roachii family. She actually had a good childhood; her father adored her and gave her everything she ever wanted, which is pretty much why she longs for absolute power. She was spoiled, but educated. Rawien was alive when the war started after Saksuu was killed and she saw an opportunity to gain power. When Aleksandar steeped up to take control of the scattered Roachii, Rawien positioned herself as his second-in-command. Now she intends to help Aleksandar win this war, but will make sure he doesn't survive it, allowing her to take over. Edited July 10, 2011 by Lady Evirae Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 Thistlebroach Mountain truly was the home of the Sacrii. Aleksandar stared up at the spiraling outcroppings of sharp, black rock, twisting up and up until a small hole in the side let in some of the light from the outside world. There were perches everywhere, and down here, at the bottom, there was a 'common room' of sorts for the higher ups, with a map of the region laid across a magnificent ebony table, a long dining table with empty, highbacked cushioned velvet chairs, and finally, a large, ebony throne with crimson drapings, with enough room for a Sacrii to sit with wings folded or outstretched. Aleksandar did not dare to sit on the throne, at least not at the present. Only when he united all of the scattered Sacrii under his leadership would he dare sit on the crimson throne. It was the wisest choice, as one of his advisors told him. Aleksandar knew he was a key candidate (and really the only one) to taking over as the new leader of the Sacrii, where he would unite them against the threat of the king and finally kill the Cuuchoin. But for now, he had to find all of the scattered Sacrii 'tribes'. His followers were perched in the alcoves higher in the mountain, waiting for their leader to make a move. Aleksandar looked down at the map, his eyes searching a new place to send scouts to find his kindred. Sighing, he smoothed back his long brown hair, and rubbed his eyes. He wanted sleep, but that would have to wait for now. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 ((AH!!! So in love with descriptive posts!!! lol)) Rawien landed on an outcropping of rock on the west face of Thistlebroach Mountain. When word had reached her that a new, up-and-coming Sacrii was trying to earn their people's loyalty, Rawien had immediately set out for the old base that Saksuu had once ruled out of. That was where all potential leaders would go if they wished to try to earn the right to rule; it was the only place they could go where they would have any measure of security from the Cuuchoin. Walking through a narrow corridor to the interior of the mountain, she smoothed out her hair and checked to make sure her black dress was perfect. After a few minutes, she reached the huge, cavernous room that was both a meeting hall and a throne room. Rawien took a moment to examine the room; it had been so long since she had last been here that she had almost forgotten the immense size and dark grandeur of the place. She breathed in deeply and finally looked to the center of the room. In the middle of the cavern was a young Sacrii scanning over some sort of map. Rawien did not doubt that this was the one she had heard about. He was young and handsome, the perfect pawn for Rawien's plans. Lifting her chin up slightly, she made her way over to the long dining table in the room and sat on the edge of it, crossing one leg over the other and curling the end of her tail around her dangling foot. She waited for him to finish poring over the map and notice her. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 Veidera cringed at Nylaea's words. "I-I'm sorry. I wanted to help. I've lived here so long I've gotten used to eating human food. It does taste good though so I just thought you might like it." She didn't like it, how they thought she was stupid and bad because she worked for humans. What was she supposed to do? Oh, don't trust me because I have a job to support my family. What a valid reason to hate me. I must be so evil. Don't trust me because I'll betray you. Plus, she knew blood was what most Kiichin used for nourishment. She did too. bu she had grown used to eating human food. She brought food and she got a sneer. She wasn't even supposed to bring down food! So now it turns out she should have gone and got some blood for them. How would she do that? Beat up a couple of guards and drain their blood into a glass for them? Rage boiled inside her. Veidera hissed and the light around the dungeon faded. Instead, the light concentrated into her wings, making them glow incredibly bright. She resented being judged and treated like this. "Eat it if you'd like." She snapped at them. Veidera wiped her hands and turned. Grasping the ladder she headed up. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 ((Evirae: Lyryu and you are right. )) USERNAME: PG CHARACTER NAME: Sirintin GENDER: Male RACE: Lyryu APPEARANCE: Snow white hair, wings and eyes. Pale skin, almost translucent. Large wings, handsome in a sick way, like you wouldn't want to be attracted to him, yet you are. Something wrong about him. Makes you feel unsettled. AGE: 32 PERSONALITY: Something is very sickening about him. He doesn't hesitate to do things like cutting of a Kiichin's wings so they don't escape. He feels no regret and often seems lifeless, staring off into space for extensive periods of time. He's an evil scientist, smart cunning and cruel. WHAT KIND OF MAGIC, IF ANY (Again, I don't want a creature with a death ray. Dragons that fly, breath fire, that kind of thing. If I think your magic is too over the top, I'll ask you to revise this part. I'd like you to describe what powers they mainly focus on/use. EX: Longwing can breath fire and can turn invisible for about 30 seconds at a time): He can temporarily paralyze someone, holding them so they cannot move. He more shifts the air around things, using it to create extreme amounts of pressure, often collapsing lungs and wings. WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT THE WAR: He wants the humans to win it, he supposes. Even though he will overthrow the king and become ruler. He's going to kill the king at some point, do it quickly and without him touching the king, making his death look like an accident. BIO/HISTORY: I'll RP this out. I'm not quite sure what made him so twisted yet... STARTING PARAGRAPH TO HELP DESCRIBE YOUR CHARACTER (OPTIONAL): )) "Nylaea, at least she's trying to help. I don't see you coming up with any food. No matter what it is, it'll help hold us off before we get some real food. Stop being so rude. I have no clue what is up with you!" he said, glaring at her. He turned away, walking over to a cell. "I don't see you sneaking upstairs and trying to at least find us something to eat! I don't care if you don't trust her, at least give her a chance. It's our only hope," he whispered, his voice harsh as he glared at her. The musty smell of the corridor was suddenly disrupted by almost a lack of smell. A supreme cleanliness. Footsteps sounded on the stone floor. Clacking. Suddenly a pure white figure was seen before them and Kator felt a weight against his chest, though the man was not even using his powers yet. "Hm... what do we have here? A few escaping Kiichin and one of our own up to boot? Tsk, tsk. I would have thought you'd know better." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 Veidera turned at the sound of Kator voice. "Nylaea, at least she's trying to help. I don't see you coming up with any food. No matter what it is, it'll help hold us off before we get some real food. Stop being so rude. I have no clue what is up with you!" He was defending her? Veidera didn't think either of them would. "Well I guess I'm judging them too." She stepped off the ladder. "Should we leave now before anyone notices?" Clacking footsteps echoed down the dungeon. "Oh." She whispered. "Too late." An all white figure appeared. He had a sickening aura that both attracted and repelled Veidera. "Who are you?" She murmered. She had seen him before. She recognized him. "Nylaea, Kator! He's the scientist!" Veidera whispered to them. She knew what he could do and it wasn't good. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 "Yes. I'm Sirintin, I'm one of the two. Why exactly are you birdies trying to leave? I'm not done with my testing yet. Mm. Looks like I didn't notice it before, but you're special too. I guess I'll put you in a cage with the other two," he hissed, his pale irises meeting with the other's eyes. A thin smile playing upon his lips, he almost seemed to glare at them and yet smile at them at the same time. His very emotions were perplexing and unreadable. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 "M-me?!" Veidera squeaked. A second ago, she was ready to help them escape. Not she was being put in? "But I didn't do anything wrong. We didn't do anything wrong! It's not right!" She was frightened by Sirintin. His pale features weren't right and he seemed to always show two sides at once, glaring and smiling at them. Veidera just wanted to get away. Away from this scientist, away from the cells. She grabbed Nylaea and Kator's wrists. "Excuse me." She said politely to Sirintin. "I believe we had the right to leave." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 Sirintin still seemed to smile, though he seemed to also have an even more ferocious glare than before. He broadened his grin, his eyes flashing wickedly. "I believe you did not. I believe I need to put you in a veryt special cell of mine. One that can't be frozen to bits," he said, his voice void of any emotion. He held up the bloody and shattered remains of the lock. "And of course you. You've got strange wings. I need to find out why," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "You all are lucky. I'm not calling the guard." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 "No I don't!" Veidera snapped. "We have as much right as you do." She tried pulling along Nylaea and Kator but the scientist blocked her path. The sick doctor was glaring. "You all are lucky. I'm not calling the guard." Guard! Erchi was the guard, right? He might help them. But, there would be many guards wouldn't there? I've got to take the chance! "Who's this guard?" Veidera spoke cautiously. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 "The king's right hand man. Or more, the King's pet. He's a useful colleague of mine. Call him my servant, whatever you wish. Oh, and to add insult to injury, I may just call Erchi as well. I watch over all the people here. I know the way he looks at you. But he won't do anything, not when Trin is around. He wouldn't dare," he said, his face still a mixture of hatred and laughter. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 7, 2011 ((Is Kator going to talk too? *points* Veidera feels a bit alone in the arguement.)) Looks at me? Veidera wondered. "Well then," Veidera's feelings boiled up inside her again. "What are you going to do? We'll find our way out again." Veidera's defiant look wilted a bit under the creepy half glare half smirk of Sirintrin. He was still blocking her way out. She turned to Nylaea and Kator. "Please! Do something!" Share this post Link to post
