Also, the DVD release of My Little Pony still has the original 'Derpy' line in it. If it was that much of a problem, they would release the edited episode, not the original. Not to mention, all the Derpy stuff is still on WeLoveFine, half of it with "Derpy" or "Derp" on the actual product.

Ikr! Rarity promotes jealousy, Applejack is just annoying, and as for Pinkie Pie is just do overrated! Rainbow Dash LOVES adventure, Fluttershy is against animal cruelty, and Twilight Sparkle is a GENIUS! I don't get why Spike has a crush on Rarity; she's so prissy, and he's Twilight's sidekick.

My least favorite is probably fluttershy because frankly, she's overrated. A lot of the *worse* bronies that love Fluttershy will freak out if anyone says they dislike her, so that kind of makes me dislike her a little bit more.

One of the things I love about the show is that it breaks the stereotypes. In every other show I hated the girly-girls (like Anne in Enid Blyton's Famous Five for example) but although Rarity is definitive a s girly as they get and has some annoying characterisics, she is generous and nice (sewing the dresses for the others, giving her TAIL away in the first episode). Plus it has way more significance if she hates to get muddy but does it for Sweetie Belle anyway. Yes she grabs the bridal bouquet out of instinct, yes she's harsh to her little sister sometimes, but she also loves her friends and she overcomes the self-centered instincts she has (as everypony else).

If I had to definitely decide on a favourite pony it would be her.

On the account of AJ being annoying - I think that's your personal perception. I always found her a bit bland, but again that's my perception and she's still a good pony and I get why everypony loves her.

Pinkie Pie being over-rated is again a question of perception. I really get it, because if things are over-hyped I tend to be annoyed, too. It took me sometime to warm up to Pinkie, but I love the surrealism and chaos that surrounds her (I just added one and one and one and one... and came up with Mathilda) even if it's sometimes over the top (thinking inside the chimney).

 

On the other hand one could make the point that RD is quite egoistical and self-centered and wants to be the big 'cool' guy all the time, Fluttershy should grow a spine and Twi is quite neurotic (especially in her relation with the princess).

 

Don't get me wrong I love them all to bits and pieces, but I think you have to realize that nopony is perfect, they all have their strength and weaknesses and the show is ALL THE MORE AWESOME for it.

 

Also my favourite cameo pony has to be Jesus-pony, because 'The Big Lebowski' rocks

My favorite main ponies are Fluttershy, Twilight, and Rarity, in that order. They're all pretty awesome though. X'D

 

There are a lot of epic side/background characters though fff.

 

The only thing about the show that I don't like isn't even the show's fault, it's the dark, creepy side of the fandom. I don't understand why people sexualize animals EVER-I love animals, but the moment someone starts drooling over a wolf with boobs or something is the moment things get really gross. The fact that the subjects of said people's fantasies in this case are ponies from what is still properly a kid's show is even worse--especially since most people don't even TRY to turn them into anthros before they go at it. Anthros would still be awful, but it'd be mildly better than people drooling over standard horse butts. Dl

 

As a side note to counteract that unpleasantry, here is one of my favorite pony fan songs and favorite PMVs, respectively. I'd share some fave pony artwork, too, but there is WAY TOO MUCH AWESOME STUFF OUT THERE.

The first three are the ones that are so good, I can't decide on my favorite! Rarity only cares about beauty! It's only mane-deep, people! Besides, I get overheated easily, and when I get overheated, I break out in red, itchy hives.

Anyway, my original pony is the long-lost cousin of the flat-out perfect (only in my opinion) Rainbow Dash. She is a Pegasus, like Rainbow Dash. My pony is mainly red, and her mane and tail are scarlet, golden, azure, and orange, with her eyes a sea-foam green. She is mostly seen by everypony at sunset, when she flies across the horizon. Her name is Sunset Dash. Is that too illogical,or do you think it'd make a good character?

But each pony shows that there are different ways to be a girl? Rarity doesn't promote jealousy. She promotes the idea that there's nothing wrong with being a girly girl. What's wrong with being "prissy", well groomed, and passionate? wow, lots of hate on Rarity here. Yes, she cares about beauty and passion, but she's not shallow. Wow, guys, Rarity's really deep. And she's generous and sacrificing. She went out of the way to make her friends perfect dresses for her friends, was up for days remaking them. When she was in Canterlot and other people were snubbing her friends at that party she stood up for them. She cares about Spike and all of her friends.

 

Yeah, she got jealous of her friend. Who hasn't? The point was that she was willing to sacrifice her happiness for Fluttershy. She's still learning, too. Just like all the ponies.

 

All the ponies have weaknesses and strengths. They're well rounded characters and, hey, they get character development.

 

But to hate on Rarity because she likes beauty and fashion is ridiculous. It's a a shallow opinion that you cast onto a surprisingly deep pony. I mean, I don't wear long skirts or "high fashion" stuff but I still value looking good. When you look good you feel good.

Not only has this never appeared in the show, but in that case the problem would be with THOSE ponies, not Rarity.

I don't get why people make such a fuss over porn of cartoon characters. Some people are attracted to cartoon characters - I certainly am. So, naturally, some people make porn of it. Don't like it? OK, whatever, don't look at it.

 

For the record, here's my list of favourite characters on the show, in order: Rarity, Spike, Gilda, Discord, that one dragon from the first episode with the fabulous mustache, Applejack, and I guess Rainbow Dash.

 

I miss Gilda. :<

 

Also, I watched the season finale. Good, but I wish they had make Cadance less "nyar-har-har" evil. She could have been an actual threat, and that would have been fun.

It's not shown that Rarity has a lot of money. In fact, everypony seems to be pretty well off. Rarity has a nice shop, yes, but it's her special talent to make things look nice. You can do some killer interior design for a relatively inexpensive cost, and she goes out and finds her own gems. she doesn't buy them herself. She expends her ow magical power to get them (and uses Spike to help, but before spike we have to assume she did the work herself).

 

So your assumption that Rarity has a lot of money is moot, because there's no canonical proof that there are poor ponies (at least I don't think).

 

And she has great ideas. Your point? A lot of her ideas are about fashion, which is her passion in life. And who gets jealous over intellectual property? Like, there's a difference between going "Man, I wish I'd come up with that idea!" only to get over it quickly and taking that same statement to the extreme and being incredibly bitter that it wasn't your idea.

 

If someone gets jealous of something you're good at or something you have, it's hardly your fault. It's the other person's fault. Craftsmen work really hard to perfect their trade. They earn what skill they have through dedication and practice. When you have an item others perceive as "nice", it was likely a gift or something you worked really hard to save up for. Getting jealous over what someone else worked for or was given is petty, and shows the true character of that individual.
