2010-12-13 - Yay Updates

Recommended Posts

Thanks TJ! Now my poor little misnamed Dorkfaces can take their proper place in the clan. wink.gif

I am not sure if I like the scroll pages or not. But it does load faster!

Darn it! D8

I thought that vampires bitten prior to the implementation of bitten-by lineages wouldn't have them! I didn't think that information was saved so far back...

Ugh, guess I'll be releasing a bunch of vamps...

Unless you got an original vampire you will be releasing them all. . .TJ said he will be putting all their bite information on as the uploads it.

Man, it would be really awesome to have an actual CB vampire. :3

...Why did I have to go on a little Dragcave hiatus at the time or their release? T.T

Right now it's imposible... :/

It's like you want to have a CB pumpkin sad.gif

Awesome. :3 I'm procrastinating renaming the ton of dragons that need renaming, but I'm so glad this is finally here. ^^ Thanks TJ and testers! x3

Ugh. This is very unfortunate. My housemate was happy to get the 99 Vampires he's been working on all done before this update, because it wasn't supposed to be retroactive. Now all of his Vampires are going to have that idiot 'Bitten By' note on them. I think he's more pissed about it than I am about having it on mine, and I can't say I blame him in the least. It was MUCH better having it only on Vampires bitten after the addition, like we were told it would be.

Yeah, I know, it's just that... I was a member back when the vamps were originally released. I just had taken a little break from DC at the time. D:

=D Renamed my top priority dragon under my list of dragons to rename. And now I can breed him without being upset at the name.

D: Too bad my friend released some of her silvers because they had really bad names.

I like the scroll pages now that I know I don't have to use them tongue.gif.

Although tomorrow when I feel like actually using my brain, I might see if I can sort my dragons and figure out a number that would work to make my scroll look nice and neat biggrin.gif.

I've been meaning to resort my dragons, I just never felt like it since sorting 700+ dragons isn't an easy task. rolleyes.gif

Also, I thought I would mention that the auto sorts seem to be pretty messed up. I clicked rainbow sort and all the dragons were mixed up. Like there was a few alt blacks thrown in with white stripes and random dragons mixed with others. Looked like someone threw up a rainbow tongue.gif.

Renaming - done (I only needed to fix 2)

s1 - n/a (I don't collect hatchlings)

vamp lineages - n/a (not worried about it)

scroll pages - disappointing (not what I was expecting or wanting)

Oh well.

When do we get the new egg limits?

THIS. Why can't vampire lineages only apply to newly-bitten vampires? I thought that sort of data wasn't being stored.

All the vamps I bit to have before this feature was released are worthless for my vampire lineage project now. Oh well. All I can ask is please don't apply it to pre-April-2010 vampires, so I can at least rename my original vampires to use for my project. ._.

Thanks for the renaming, though. Now I can mess around with those mistakes!

This is my issue. :| I was fine with vampire lineages when I thought they weren't going to affect the dragons I had.

If this does end up affecting all of them, I guess I'll just stick to one male, one female, and the hatchling I named after my cat, and rage quietly.

The other updates are cool, but I wouldn't have wasted my time biting if I'd known this was going to happen.

When did I say current vampires wouldn't have lineage appear?

Perhaps it was only my understanding that when it was stated 'Existing lineage is unaffected.' on the pending updates list that it meant existing Vampire bites would not be shown. That certainly seemed to be what was indicated.

There's a difference between "lineage," and "vampire lineage." The statement there references lineage as in "mother/father." I put that in there because some of the suggestions for this included removing mother/father from view pages and substituting it with bitten by and such. Apparently it created more confusion than it was intended to solve, because it's been intended to be retroactive since March or so.

I think what TJ meant is that lineage, not bitten by/bitten, wouldn't be affected. So if your vamp was bred, that would also show up. :3

The pages are really going to help me when I view my scroll from my smartphone. Other wise it takes so long to load.

Ahh... then it is, indeed, my misunderstanding. I certainly wouldn't expect the familial lineage to be removed - but I also had not expected existing vampire lineages to be added on. I foresee a great deal of releasing, at least on the part of my housemate.

Does this mean that the data wasn't being stored before march 2010, so vampires bitten before March 2010 won't show who they were bitten by?
