This is a really great book, eventhough I've only read two. It's a really good storyline, with amazing character who are crazy.

I absolutely LOOOOVE Maximum Ride. The plot is entertaining, the characters are AWESOME, and the dialog is epic win. What's not to love? The answer, nothing.

I really liked the first Maximum Ride books he made, When the Wind Blows, and The Lake House They were the adult books that inspired him to write the teen books. I guess for some reason his publisher thought that books about cast-outs and genetic experiments were more of a teen fiction kind of topic.... and comparing the sales of the original books, and the success that the new books have had... I guess he was right! lol

I read the first book and thought it was pretty good. I like the plot and the (nearly) constant action. They come in graphic novel form now, don't they?

Just like pretty much any other series, the first few books were awesome, but then it went downhill from there... >_>

What's not to love? The answer is far from nothing. Let's see...

1. The flock all have the same personality with slight variants.

2. Somehow, all of the flock are wisecracking comedians.

3. According to basic psychology, the flock should be homicidal sociopaths, as they spent most of their life being, essentially, tortured.

4. The flock are awfully intelligent for having spent their entire lives being experimented on and living in cages.

5. The flock get random, pointless powers, which is really the only way to tell them apart.

6. The plot is repetitive. Get captured, escape, explore around for a bit, get captured, escape, explore around for a bit, repeat as long as necessary.

I really really liked the first couple books, but then the author made the plot revolve around saving the planet and global warming and other stuff like that, and now i really really hate the series. I do recomend those first few though.

I love the books but I hope Fang comes back because

Max and Fang made the book. Well thats what I think anyway.

I've only read the first... uh... four books (i think). But I personally think that each book has the same, repetitive plot, as soupnazi said. Sure, the characters are funny at times, but I really think the author should make their personalities more different. Lots of events in the books also aren't very realistic. How can Fang get away with becoming a ringleader with his all-too-famous blog without having people doubt that his story is true? Also, the author annoys me with his high frequency of italicizing words when they really don't need it and his overuse of the word 'freaking'.

A decent popcorn read for the first three books, takes a nosedive into 'worse than Breaking Dawn' terrible for two books, surfaces slightly for the sixth book. There are a couple shiny hardbacks I could take for free at the book store I volunteer. If I ever did, they would go straight to the Shelf of Shame.

I never expected you to care.

I don't think that people have as much of a problem with caring for the environment as much as how the books beat you over the head with the sentiments, and how since the books weren't always this way readers aren't getting the stories they got into the series for.

You know, I enjoyed the series but Angel really ruined the books for me. I really had the urge to punch her in the nose more than one time. I think at one point I threw the book at a wall...

The next book is Angel.I've read the first 23 chapters, but I forgot what website it was on.This is a spoiler so far:

So Max got captured again, and while being attacked by erasers.....Fang appears. He doesn't help Max, then he flies off. Dylan smooches Max, then she was p.o'd. So far after that Fang was making another flock and the password was Maximmum Ride.

I forgot what happened next, but something like Jeb and Dr.Gunther-Hagen told Max and the rest of the flock, that they needed to help the 77th generation of mutant kids.

I see smile.gif Thanks. So, the Angel Experiment *and* Angel? Lol.

It makes sense because "Angel" is actually a character in the book, while "The Angel Experiment" is the concept behind the book. Why the second series books are named after the characters, I know not.
