Posted October 17, 2010 I didn't find anything for this, so yeah. I just watched the trailer and it's sooo realistic! It was from the same people who made Happy Feet, so that's why it's so realistic. I read all of the books, not counting the guidebook. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 17, 2010 I've read some of the books, though that was a while ago. They were pretty good, even though the lack of logic made my brain revolt a little. Still, I mean... owls with metal battle claws. It's death from above, only at night, which is more terrifying. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 17, 2010 I've never read the books, but I've seen some of the trailers and I can't stand the voices! They're just so annoying, and the main character sounds not only annoying but it doesn't sound like he's a very good voice actor at all. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 17, 2010 Honestly, I thought the movie was pretty good. I've read 6 books so far, and even though the plot was a little messed up, the characters and setting seemed spot on! All except for that random echidna.... don't have any idea where he came from. @RheaZen- total death from above! In the 6th book they have metal battle claws with small embers in the tips! Posted October 17, 2010 The battle scenes were better in the books. The movie made my head hurt... But it was kinda good once you got over the fact of the voices... Share this post Link to post
Posted October 17, 2010 I haven't read any of the books yet, but I'm going to. I saw the movie a while ago, and I really enjoyed it. The most annoying thing for me was also the voices, but mostly because it was dubbed in Norwegian. I watch Ice Age with Norwegian voices (particularly one of the characters is completely awesome), but all other movies so far I've enjoyed a lot more with the original voices. Posted October 17, 2010 Had never heard about the franchise before seeing the movie trailer. Animation in the movie looks awesome, but I don't think the story would appeal to me much. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 17, 2010 I don't think the movie adaptation will be so good. Not gonna see it, at the very least. Can't get over the whole "talking animals" thing, plus it just doesn't seem like the right kind of book for a movie adaptation. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 20, 2010 I haven't read the books/watched the movie. Is it interesting or terrible like Warriors? Share this post Link to post
Posted October 20, 2010 Wo0t I finished the series! God does it change a lot toward the end..... Share this post Link to post
Posted October 20, 2010 I haven't read the books/watched the movie. Is it interesting or terrible like Warriors? Very interesting. And, unlike Warriors, you can actually keep up with the plot through fifteen books. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 20, 2010 I have never read the books, but I saw the movie. I liked the movie actually, and I went into it expecting to dislike it. It wasn't the greatest movie, but I still enjoyed it. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 21, 2010 Somewhat British accents to me. I haven't seen the movie, but I've read the first three books. o3o Share this post Link to post
Posted October 23, 2010 I read most of the books. I've read all of the ones that are in their present, and some of the past. I know movies mess up book plots, like with the book (Not in the series) about the water of youth or something. My past experience will make me not watch the movie. Blue owls are awesome, and the three B's would be too cute in a movie. Warriors is awesome. And this is Guardians of G'Hoole, not Warriors. Don't say that it is bad, as that would lead to war. All I said is that after fifteen books, you could still keep track of Guardians' plot. Warriors is a good series, but it gets a bit lost sometimes x3 Share this post Link to post
Posted October 24, 2010 I can't see how they will do the movie. Let's get a recap, shall we? *Whited for spoilers First we have Soren and Glyfie who get catptured and go to Aggie's, and then escape. They meet the band and go to the Great Tree, where they train and become Guardians, with hints of Nyra and the battle with Kludd. THEN it switches to Coryn's (Nyroc's) perseptive, and it tells his tale where he escapes from Nyra and becomes king. Let's not forget a whole 3 books telling the Legends. After THAT it has Bess and a couple Nyra battles, with the discovery of the 6th kingdom, not to mention the Striga. Finaly the last battle in the Beyond, where Coryn dies and Soren becomes king. I'm sorry, but I don't know how they can fit that in. My rule: 1-5 books per movie! I say this should have been 3, 5 books per movie. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 24, 2010 I think they did only do the first three books in the movie. Granted I have not read the books, but it certainly did not get as far into them as you described. Share this post Link to post

Posted October 24, 2010 Really? I thought it was cramming all of them in there. /fail Share this post Link to post
Posted October 25, 2010 I have never read the books, but I went to see the movie. It was....okay. It wasn't the talking owls or their society that bothered me; its fantasy, so I'm not going to get annoyed by that. No, it was mostly the predictability of the plot. I could pretty much see where it was going after the first ten minutes. I know its a kids-aimed story, and kids' don't recognize cliches as much, but it seemed to be lacking creativity. I mostly enjoyed the characters, although the snake annoyed me (she really didn't seem to do much of anything). So, yeah, it was okay. Beautiful animation, I'll definitely give it that.
