We have two orange tabby brothers at my parents' place, currently 12 year old sillies. They are almost complete opposite of each other, the other one (Frodo) is fluffy, calm and sweet and the other (Birk) is lean, sometimes angry and always begging for attention. They have been a part of my life for so long and I dread the day they'll pass away.

Currently Birk has a small cut on his paw and keeps limping and hopping with only three legs :/ but he seems otherwise fine, so my mom just keeps a lookout how he develops. Hopefully the cut will heal soon!

Yikes about the paw! But I do think the cat should be able to keep it clean? They lick their pads a lot, but they can also get infected by clicking it >.<

Yeah, I really hope it gets better soon! He keeps liking it from time to time but not too much hopefully. We cleaned the paw immediately when we noticed it with warm water and some disinfectant (which he did not like one bit) so at least it was clean for a moment biggrin.gif

I'm getting a new kitten in a few weeks biggrin.gif

The mother cat is owned by a friend of my housemates and she had 5 kittens last Friday. I had visited a couple of times while the mummy cat was pregnant, and she is a sweet natured lap cat and a great mother who has already had a couple of litters. She's a fluffy calico moggie and the father is not known.

I've set my heart on the only tortishell kitten in the litter. A friend of mine also wants kittens and picked really wants the little ginger boy and one of the two brown tabby girls. My housemate is also considering getting one of the kittens herself. We are all going to visit once a week to socialise with our kittens and watch them grow up. I still haven't decided on a name for my kitten but my friend has already decided to call her two Steven and Peridot (she's a steven universe fan).

Our household already has one elderly cat so its gonna be interesting to see how she interacts with the new kitten(s). Past housemates who lived here before me have had cats and she has had no problem with them, so we are hopeful that she at least tolerates them after she has hissed at the kitten(s) the customary 437 times. tongue.gif

I was chosen by a fiveish tortie named Blizzardrush. She appeared on my doorstep about a year ago, pregnant and cold. We took her in, and in a week, she was having kits! In a few months, the kittens were adopted, and we now had a cat who is sitting on my lap watching me type this.

I loved that cat video. xd.png It was EPIC AWESOME! Always have been a cat person, always will be! They PWN everything! xd.png

I have two kitties myself. :3 But they're old. sad.gif When the next one dies we'll get a pair from the rescue center. :3 We usually have three cats anyways. biggrin.gif One is named Fable and is a girl tortishell-tabby, and the other one is Franklin and is a male black and white tuxedo cat and they seem to be both American shorthair mixes. The male seems to have a lot of Bombay cat traits in him and acts pretty doglike and is fat [You can't leave friskies in his food bowl without him gobbling it all down. Every other cat we've had would only eat a bit and then return for more hours later when they're hungry again. Nope it doesn't matter if he's actually hungry or not, if its food its going IN HIS MOUTH NAOW.] We have to do portion control and carefully put Fable's food where Franklin can't get to it and gobble it down. Fable just barfs a lot and leaves her "presents" for someone to step in. Ew! She loves to race around though and is thin and small and hyperactive even in old age. She's in great shape! Franklin is fat and lazy and runs away whenever there's visitors, and has the BIGGEST CUTEST EYES EVAH!! and is extremely talkative as all hell. xd.png Fable's very quiet, the quietest of all our cats, and neither of them can purr well. Since Couetters (R.I.P. dear cat aunt who taught me so much and had been alive before I was ever born, and died when I was 16 dearest one) we haven't had a cat with a good strong purr. :/ And Franklin has serious gut issues where he used to have HORRIBLE FARTS that would clear the house out, no joke! Now he doesn't really fart but dumps a LOT in the litterbox and it smells like nuclear waste combined with thousands of dead, rotting corpses. X_X No joke. Every other cat's stuff doesn't have a stink in the litterbox, but HIS DOES. X_____X It doesn't go away for hooooooours. *gagging* XAX

Needless to say poor Franklin is the butt of many jokes (tee hee) about his eating, fatness, cuteness, AND his digestive system. O^e One of which I'm proud of is that he's a black hole that emits a supernova explosion regularly. xd.png

I love to hear about all your own kitties! biggrin.gif

Franklin sounds _exactly like our Frodo! biggrin.gif He too has a bit of an eating disorder, aka if he has food he will eat till he vomits... He's also fat (we tried to make him lose weight but to no success) and cuddly AND has the cutest eyes ever! He's chatty, especially in the mornings and sometimes has the habit to jump on the back of the sofa and nibble on people's hair and eyebrows...

Birk's paw healed just fine! He got some antibiotics and painkillers and yay, he's totally himself now. He has grown his winter fur and it looks so weird because he has had this weird over-grooming thing going on and off for like two years and last winter he was bald from his stomach because of that, so I haven't seen his winter fur in ages!

This topic is so nice to read, I can't have enough of kitties!

The cat video doesn't work. D: Youtube took it down!

But yes, cats are awesome. My first cat was when I was 4 years old, we adopted a stray kitten in the area. She was around for 19 years before she finally passed away. Then we ended up getting 3 more, go figure. When I moved out, I took one of the three, and I might get a second one in June because my poor kitty gets left at home by herself a lot due to my job and needs a friend.

My cat just decided I've been playing video games long enough. rolleyes.gif

I was watching a cut scene and not really paying attention to her. She was putting her paws up on the entertainment center, and I figured she was watching her reflection in the glass like she always does. Nope. She tapped the Xbox with her paw and turned it off! Now she's in my lap purring smugly laugh.gif

I have one.... two.... Three kitties! The third's such a spaz, he won't let anyone come near him and screams all the time. tongue.gif

We basically take in the stray cats that wander around. My big black cat just wandered in one day and made himself perfectly at home. Such rotten things.

I have three kittehs, one of whom is named Spaz xd.png There's also #2 (long story shortened, she was born in my living room in a litter of 2, we weren't going to keep them so we called them #1 & #2 to avoid attachment, but by time we decided to keep them, the name was stuck) and Miss Lucy. Not sure what breed any of them are, but they're all cuddly and awesome.

#2

Spaz

Miss Lucy

#2 is the baby (even though she's the oldest) and if I sit down, she thinks she belongs in my lap.

Spaz is the temperamental middle child. She used to be really affectionate to strangers, but a few years ago we had a break-in and she's been skittish around people ever since. sad.gif

Miss Lucy is the baby. She runs the length of the hall at full throttle but doesn't do too good when it comes to applying the brakes. xd.png

Cats are calming creatures.

I like to sit on the floor with them and relax, and they just sit around and blink smiles to each other.

My 4 current cats are the best I've had the pleasure of knowing. As well as all the other cats I've had in the past.

Sometimes I feel like they understand me more than humans. :3

Anybody like Norwegian Forest Cats in here? I've got a one, named Stray, that's a mix and my other cat is a short hair tabby, named Kiki, they're so cute but they don't really like eachother blink.gif . I think it's really because Kiki is a male and Stray is a female that are both competing for the exact same territory.

I have two lovely cats. One is white, with green eyes, his name is Milky. The other, also white, with beige siamese marking and blue eyes, his name is Shiro. I love them unlike anything else in the world, I adopted Milky seven years ago from the veterinarian, and as for Shiro, he was born in my patio, so I took him in!

Here's a picture of my furry friends. The grey one on focus is a rescue cat called Merkurius or Merri. The tortie angora girl, then, is Andromeda or Medda. Soon they'll be two years old! They're still such childs, always playing or sleeping or destroying things... and I have no words to describe how much I love them. Merri is a little demanding personality, really, he needs all the attention I can give and has a loud voice to claim it.

My family has two cats - an Oriental Shorthair male called Kamu and a younger Balinese boy called Hamlet. Both of them are quite social and talkative as is typical for oriental breeds. They've been best friends ever since Hamlet was a kitten and love to sleep all cuddled up with each other.

w4g1g4n.jpg

Hamlet has a bit of an atypical color scheme for a Balinese as parts of his coat have silver patterns while others have brown ones, not even mentioning the whole spotted tabby pattern he has going on nowadays (his body was completely white as a kitten, save for the typical points). Thankfully he was sold into our household where his 'color defect' doesn't really matter given that we never take our animals into shows or other events anyway. Reading about it, I guess in some countries his kind would be considered a Javanese or something?

What pretty babies!!! I've been wanting to get an Oriental Shorthair myself, either a pointed variation or a solid colored. I love the shape of their heads and their personalities. Your boys are very beautiful!

Hamlet looks to be a blue lynx point coloration-- I have one colored like that, but he's a medium hair main coon mix named Kirsch.

I see! I'm bad with cat colors and all that because I haven't really needed to learn any of the terms. I guess a blue lynx point would make sense. ^_^ Perhaps it is still a color that's not accepted into shows for the Balinese breed in Finland though, as the breeder specifically told us something along those lines while recommending him to us, knowing that we don't care about all that.
