Even though the dragon is a Black-Capped Teimarr, maybe there was some kind of accident when they were little and so they can't swim very well, but they like to practice at night when none of the other dragons are watching. ~~~ This energetic Dark Myst pygmy loves nothing better than flying around and having fun. Especially when it rains, which is good, since the swampy area he calls home is rarely dry for long. However, the day he hatched from his egg was unusually sunny, and as his parents watched the skies curiously, something strange happened! The sunlight quickly darkened as a shadow passed over the land, shrouding those below in darkness for several moments that then vanished as quickly as it had arrived, just as the little hatchling was taking its first breaths. Suggestion: Maybe due to a nutritional deficency, Clearfang's teeth are very fragile and almost transparent, leading to the popular rumor that they're actually made of glass or crystal. Because of this, it's hard for him to hunt and eat. So he's become his clan's dentist to insure no one else has to suffer bad teeth. --- Ever since she was a young hatchling, Esosa was told that as a member of the illusive Holly breed she would be revered and even worshipped as a deity of a better age. But when she left her ancestral home to stretch her wings in the real world, she found that this wasn't the case and hadn't been for quite some time. Holly dragons were no longer creatures of myth, seen only once in several lifetimes. The eldest members of the Holiday race were still rare but had shown to live normal lives in normal lairs like any other dragon. Esosa found herself a god in a world of atheists. For a time she tried to assert her worth, but ended up fleeing civilization after being ridiculed as arrogant and self-absorbed, because truly, that was how she believed a Holly was to act. She now dwells in a secluded mountain cave, privately lording over a village below, comforting herself with the imagined belief that their silence is their way of paying respects to their patron goddess. --- A'orth and below are described and Allonsey and below are pending. Posted June 9, 2016 Unnamed Sweetling - Write that description! His code kind of looks like "map" so maybe his name could be something like a variation of "Seeker" or "Searcher" and he spends a lot of his time drawing up maps so he can remember how to get to his favorite spots for finding honey and other sweets. ~~~ Due to a nutritional deficiency he's dealt with since birth, Clearfang's teeth are not very strong and instead of a pearly white they look as if they're formed from translucent crystal. This makes it hard for him to eat at times, and as a result he's a rather small and frail specimen of his breed. However he doesn't let that stop him from ensuring that no other dragon has to suffer as he does. He studied with his cave's White dragons for a time, and now they send patients with dental issues to him. Here his size is an advantage because it makes it easier to reach in and extract, say, a damaged tooth from the back of a Plated Colossus' jaws and then leap out of the way. He also has started a program where he examines the teeth of the growing hatchlings to check for any problems, and if the young ones behave and don't bite they are rewarded with a treat or small trinket. Sometimes on a particularly difficult case he has a flock of Pygmy assistants, known as "Tooth Fairies", to help out. Posted June 10, 2016 Dusky's Sonata of the Stars - Write that description! Perhaps he's a musician/composer who looks to the patterns and arrangement of the stars for inspiration? ~~~ The dragon raiser watched excitedly as the cracks in the two-tone blue egg began to widen. It was late in the day and the sun was sinking in the sky as the first head poked out of its shell. After a bit more wiggling and wobbling the second head poked free, just as the last light was fading and the moons began to rise, followed quickly by the rest of the body. Most two-headed breeds have some issues with cooperation between the two heads, but this dragon's heads are as different as night and day. When one wants to sleep, the other wants to eat. One head is a neat freak, the other not so much. Perhaps he gained electrical magic from an incident involving Zekrom? ------ Dusky's Sonata of the Stars description: Sonata of the Stars is a composer who flies the night sky, gleaning inspiration from the cosmos. He creates songs based on nebulae and constellations, with pace and tone differing because of the stars he sees. His melodies have the power to make the listener see stars in their mind's eye. He once created a high and cold aria based on a cluster of seven blue stars, titling it "Aria of the Seven Siblings". The Aria of Seven Siblings makes listeners think of seven stars in an ethereal dance through the heavens. Rumour has it that he has composed many more melodies, but the only other known one is the "Birth of Stars", a fast but flowing melody that makes the listener think of stars being born from primordial gases. However, his best friend Cold Mirror swears he has written many more private melodies. Cold Mirror refuses to share any of Sonata's melodies until the composer shares more. Posted June 10, 2016 Beek-Beek - Write that description! Perhaps that isn't her full name, but rather she has a fancy-sounding name that as a young hatchling was hard to pronounce even through telepathy, so this shortened form stuck instead of the real thing? ~~~ As a youngster, this Black dragon was quite idealistic and longed to be the best warrior in his cave. However once he began combat training it was clear to his instructors that he was going to be a difficult case. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't seem to win any of his practice fights or spellcasting duels. Feeling dejected after a particularly grueling day of training he slunk back toward his cave to go to sleep, when the glint of something shiny caught his eye. He dug the trinket out of the dirt and discovered an onyx-colored orb, polished to a shine. Suddenly an image appeared in the orb, and an apparition sprang forth! It seemed to be a Black dragon, but not quite, with blue electrical sparks dancing over its scales, and as he watched, mystified, it fired bolts of energy at him. Oddly enough, they didn't hurt, instead he felt filled with power as they struck. With a final blast, the orb shattered into pieces, and from that day on Zekromspark became a much stronger warrior. (No link b/c iPad shenanigans ;; ) Perhaps they are a thrill seeker of sorts, performing dangerous but beautiful stunts way too close to rock faces? --- Beek-Beek's name is much better described as a nickname. Her parents, foreigners with a long history of complex names, gave her something that was absolutely unpronounceable to not only her, but all her young friends. It didn't take long for them to shorten the name to its first syllable, and shortly thereafter doubled it to make it what it now is. A cute childhood nickname, Beek-Beek's parents assumed. But even as she finally left to carve her own path, she kept the name. Truth to be told, she probably doesn't even remember her real name, Beek-Beek has been in its place for so long - her lifemate Jimboomba calls her by it, she introduces herself to strangers by it, and she uses it in formal scenarios every single day. Maybe eons ago, he defeated the Ancients' ruler and took over? ---- Legends say that in the most powerful blizzards, a white dragoness appears to the sick and the injured. It is said that she appears out of the snow, first seen by her brilliant blue eyes, and that all goes silent when she appears. However, when the snow dies down, there is no sign of her, but those who saw her are suddenly healed. The only thing left behind is a white feather, eternally cold and frost-covered. Perhaps she's so obsessed with watching the reflection of the moons on the water's surface that she rarely leaves her favorite pond and becomes grumpy during the daytime hours when she can't see them? ~~~ Like most dragons of his breed, Rockydancer loves performing aerial tricks! However he's not content with 'simple' twirls and flips, preferring stunts such as high-speed dives where he pulls up at the last possible moment or skimming dangerously close to the rocky cliffs he calls home. Perhaps she adores moths and loves to fly with them in immense groups? --- The Moon in the Water spends her nights lying before her favourite pond, a calm lakelet infused with life mana and so walled off by rich, thick greenery that the wind never disturbs the surface. Aurax and Cirion are reflected with near perfection here, and in the eyes of the entranced dragon obsessively watching them. The Royal Blue may be very peaceful as long as the celestial bodies are in her sight, but once neither moon is visible, whether due to cloud cover or daytime, she becomes grouchy and irritable. She becomes hooked on guarding the pool, as though she expects the reflections to reappear once she and it are isolated. Her growls of 'leave us be' are prompt should anyone or anything set foot within her designated boundaries, and if that isn't enough she charges and uses her size to push the stubborn ones out. Her life revolves around the shining ethereal orbs, and nothing shall interrupt. --- As per usual, adults from the first GoN to the last Stone! Did he destroy something on the orders of some dragon/wizard named Paradisum? ---- Darkest Sorrow once had a different name. That changed one night under the blood moons, when a great silver wolf appeared. The wolf killed her first egg and fled. When she returned home, she discovered the smashed egg. She was already broken inside from being taken from her parents and sibling, and this finally pushed her to the limit, for she knew if she had been there, she could have slain the wolf before it destroyed her egg. She lost her old personality, and her telepathic voice changed from strong and powerful to frail and whispery. She had become a darkly sorroful dragon, quiet, reserved, and prone to weeping softly. Every time the moons glow blood red, her eyes turn silver and she goes to the sites of her losses, keening mournfully. Open to suggestions on any adult! Maybe she dislikes humans and the way they change the landscape to suit them (for example cutting down a forest to build a town or damming a river and flooding a valley) and so she uses her powers over plants and the earth to try to reclaim such land and put it the way nature intended it to be, meaning that she's often chased by hunters the humans have hired to stop her. ~~~ A fearsome warrior much like a typical Black dragon, Mothywing has an odd habit during her downtime that no one suspects. She's fascinated by insects, particularly butterflies and moths, and has collected and categorized many specimens. She likes to keep this hobby quiet, because she's worried that the others would think of her as a weak intellectual type if they knew about it. No Xenowyrm has repaired damage so fervently as Gaea Rising, though. She attacks human settlements of non-magic users, regrowing and animating trees, vines, shrubs, and all manner of flora. Maybe she's searching for someone/something and that's why she's flying all night? ~~~ This dragon was named for his resemblance to a legendary figure featured in his cave's lore and ancient stories. The being is said to have pure white scales, with its wings and tail wreathed in bright, blazing flames. Now, as a White dragon and a pacifist, of course he can't command flames like his namesake, but the myths also say that the dragon-like creature represents truth, a trait that Reshiramflame is proud to share. When not working with the other White dragons in their healing duties, he can be found holding court in his lair, settling disputes between the other dragons in his cave. She's not afraid to stand her ground, and she won't hesitate to stand up for those dragons that are smaller or weaker than herself. Although she has the ability to use magic, she prefers to use her own strength to defeat her foes, and will only use magic if absolutely necessary. Because she prefers to hunt at night, most nocturnal prey won't know she's there until it's too late. For many years now, she has been searching for a dragon that she might recognize as her mate. He flies all night under Citron, retreating as soon as it sets and hiding in his cave until it rises again. No one know what he does in there, but it involves dead, bronze-colored eggs and hatchlings, who inexplicably are returned to the land of the living... Open to suggestions! If so, does this dragon have similar evil schemes up her (figurative) sleeve? ~~~ This Anagallis dragon earned his name because of his bright red wings and equally bright attitude. Very friendly and welcoming, he tries to introduce himself to all the newcomers to his owner's cave. However his memory isn't always the greatest, so sometimes he may introduce himself three or four times to the same dragon. No one really minds this, though, as they know he means well. Does he like creating clouds of astral dust? ----- She is often mistaken for a certain Astra... but that may fit. She is constantly scheming and plotting. According to Yogg-Sovoth, she may have been the dragon responsible for the death of Gleaming Glow's first hatchling and the near-death of Crimson Crown. She hates any non-Black dragon with a vicious passion, and excels at magic like her true namesake, hence her name. Posted June 18, 2016 Dusky's Eternal Slumber - Write that description! How did he get his name? Does he sleep a lot? Flameheart Firespin, despite his name, is an electric dragon. Although he likes having the power to manipulate electricity at will, he often wishes he had the power to manipulate fire. Like most electric dragons, he enjoys flying during lightning storms, gathering the electricity and storing it for later use, such as hunting. He is usually a happy dragon, and he can sometimes be found showing off for the female electric dragons, especially during the mating season. Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) I'm a little teacup- Write that description! Why does she have that name? ---- Eternal Slumber got his name after unwittingly expunging a living dragon's soul. While Expunge can affect living dragons, folk legend holds that as black magic of the highest order, so his first owner, horrified, abandoned him. The frightened hatchling attempted to awaken the Gold dragon but failed. When his next owner found him, he was alone next to the dead Gold dragon. His next owner's Holly was the first dragon to find him, and attempted to tell the young Soulpeace that the Gold dragon was dead, but he used the expression "in eternal slumber". As he grew older, more of these accidents occurred to the point he was given the name "Eternal Slumber". Upon growing up, he left the land of his hatchlinghood and its painful memories of hatred, traveling to the north, to the land beyond the Guardians of Nature and the Avatars, until he reached a cave where dragons lived. He joined the community after finally gaining the ability to control his abilities, and settled down in the cave. I had fun writing this one. Also, my RP cave has no human and is led by a female Alt Black. Like Eternal Slumber's description states, it is in the northern land beyond the gods (GoNs and Avatars).
