Posted December 31, 2013 I don't like inbreds mainly because I trade offsprings and since inbred offsprings have lower value its not very useful for ne to keep them. Though I do keep neat inbred lineages I've only ever found one (a grey) and its more "this looks cool and i have space" then "i dont care about the lineage". Share this post Link to post
Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) I love inbreds. I have some really messy ones that I've gathered while trying to find the most inbred dragon on the AP and I have ones that I've created on purpose. My current inbred project is, by far, my favorite... if I can get them to give me an egg. http://dragcave.net/lineage/CgGv7 X http://dragcave.net/lineage/AhADr Edited December 31, 2013 by Sir Barton Share this post Link to post
Posted December 31, 2013 Cool for gifting, but I wouldn't start one myself. Just too much my scroll can handle like projects, experiments, ect. =/ But yeah, I'd really love to see Inbred checkers -- especially from nice looking checkers to see what I'd be doing just to see how long even gens look with the combo. ^^ Share this post Link to post
Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) I currently have 2 inbred projects involving holiday dragons that have caps of two per scroll. Personally, I think that inbreds are perfectly fine as long as their lineages aren't messy. black x heartseeker: Yay! IT ALTED! That makes 3 alts in the lineage :3 http://dragcave.net/lineage/C7jfD tea x cavern lurker: im especially proud of this one, because every single dragon on that lineage belongs to my scroll :3 http://dragcave.net/lineage/YWD65 Edited December 31, 2013 by Silverlight138 Share this post Link to post
Posted December 31, 2013 The outcome when you breed two long-lineaged, horribly inbred siblings together: http://www.coup-detat.info/NDER/Inbred.php...=full&repeats=y I'm sorry, I find this hilarious! Share this post Link to post

I do know he usually breaks the AOND site. 1107 dragons appear more than once.... http://www.coup-detat.info/NDER/Inbred.php...=full&repeats=y I WAS building a true deadline to see if he would show up afterwards as clean - but I wasn't quick enough. Still - now he is there for all to see. Edited December 31, 2013 by fuzzbucket Share this post Link to post
Posted January 8, 2014 Since I don't really care about lineages, inbred dragons doesn't bother that much, though I try to avoid doing it with my dragons nowadays. In past I have bred several inbred dragons by mistake (though none of them remains on my scroll to my knowledge*), and among my caught/traded dragons there are also a few of them. Record would be red striped with 72 dragons repeated.... messily. *Do need to check it one day, but with over 500 dragons it will take a while.... Share this post Link to post
Posted January 8, 2014 I'm okay with them, as long as it's not too many. I've gotten rid of a few but others remain on my scroll. Unfortunately the first Gold I ever got has been inbred, and I didn't really notice after I've bred a few children from it. I still love it and all, I want to start my own lineages and gift them to people, so I try to get clean metallics now. I've been hoarding them for the past few weeks. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 8, 2014 Well, I don't mind if I caught an inbred from the AP. I don't do inbreeds with my own dragons though. So I kinda don't and do care.... Share this post Link to post
Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) For most of them, I don't care. Very rarely i abandon them. But some of them, like this one are reeaally lovely! <3 Edited January 8, 2014 by aeriae Share this post Link to post
Posted January 8, 2014 I like nice dragons with a nice lineages which means if an inbred dragon has been done with a purpose with a cool naming theme and is even gen or stairstep then to me it's fine. I wouldn't personally breed them myself as I prefer non inbred but I would keep a nicely lineaged inbred. It the random long messy ones that hurt my eyes and that goes for if there is inbreeding involved or not. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 9, 2014 I intend to collect all dragons, inbred or not, but I will keep the lineages separated by naming them all with a breakdown of three different surnames so I know which lineage is pure and which is messy or inbred, just to keep from doing anything by accident, but I don't mind having, naming and keeping inbreeds. If they have a BSA, all the better! I will probably end up doing a lot of inbreeding on BSA types myself just to get more of those kind, but I'm still going to collect CBs and pure lineages and continue on with already pretty lineages. Someone said they'd rather see a dragon dead than released. Me too! Though a dead dragon that wasn't intended to create a zombie or neglected saddens me. Share this post Link to post

Pretty much sums up my feelings too =) Well planned lineages that look neat are great, though I wouldn't breed them myself. Messy or eye-sore ones...I'll drop back in the AP for someone that would appreciate it more than I Share this post Link to post
Posted January 9, 2014 I typically keep my inbreds, but I have a naming system for them (All my inbreds have Desu in the name, as part of an in-joke with a friend), so that I know not to breed "gift" or "trade" dragons with them. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 9, 2014 I really don't have a problem with inbreds as long as they have a good lineage that isn't super sloppy. I myself considered starting my own lineage with some holiday dragons because I like the idea, problem is most other people don't agree with me and I have the CB's I need for it too but not enough CB to start my own lineage before dropping the eggs for other people. Posted January 9, 2014 I only have 1 inbred adult dragon on my scroll which is this one: http://dragcave.net/lineage/XyDQO with that incredible lineage. I simply couldn't let him go, it's beautiful. I never let an inbred dragon grow up on my scroll before though, I guess I can make an exception for an awesome lineage like this, but normally I simply freeze if I come across to an hatchling and abandon if it is an egg. Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) I just nabbed a geode dragon off the Abandoned Page and his lineage is more than a bit messy http://www.coup-detat.info/NDER/Inbred.php...=full&repeats=y Has several alt dragons that were used multiple times. Posted February 4, 2014 For most of them, I don't care. Very rarely i abandon them. But some of them, like this one are reeaally lovely! <3 LOL wow that lineage made me laugh so hard.....it's the Song That Never Ends, clever lineage trick!! I personally don't abandon inbreds, especially if they're useful (i.e. reds, purples, etc). I don't really like messy lineages; I actually prefer inbreds over messy lineages. The prettiest lineage wins in my book! Share this post Link to post

But some of them, like this one are reeaally lovely! <3 Although I wouldn't go for something like this myself, I must admit it's clever. I'm a fan of CBs, PBs and even lineages, which means I do not keep inbreds on my scroll. The things is, each user views this game differently and each decides to try different things. Not liking inbreds is just my thing, but that doesn't mean I have something with those who do. Other people's way of playing doesn't affect ours, so we shouldn't be personally affected by it, either. Posted February 9, 2014 Inbreeding bothers me for kind of silly reasons. I feel like in reality it would negatively affect the dragon's health, so it makes me feel bad. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2014 It depends on the breed of dragon and whether or not it's intentional. Intentional inbreeding to create a specific, creative lineage I find very fun. Unintentional inbreeding - and creating messy lineages in general - is just annoying. I personally would not inbreed any dragon breeds that I really love: Whites, Daydreams, Horses, etc. However, dragon breeds I'm not so attached to do not have this kind of protection. In fact, I'm planning an inbreeding project with Reds just because I only need them for their BSA and otherwise can't stand them; this way I can create a pretty lineage without having to inbreed my more preferred dragon breeds. Posted February 14, 2014 Normally I reject any AP eggs that are inbred because they tend to have messy lineages, but I've done it a few times myself. I don't have much of an opinion on them, to be honest. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2014 I love the inbred checker lineages (like the Yin and Yang) and i have started breeding one myself. But the really messy lineages with unintentional inbreeding really gets onmy nerves, i keep the dragons though, it isn't their fault that their parents got unintentionally inbred. The stairstep lines with the parent looks quite cool, but i makes me feel awkward for some weird reason. I dont understand why i feel awkward about that but not the breeding thogether of siblings…?
