Two or three dodges are pretty few.I had a full 8 (eight) dodges until I had my fill of 5 kills... But sorry about so many disintegrates -_-'

Yeah, I totally got my hopes up when the first two attempts didn't dodge, two successful kills in a row, wow! I usually get multiple dodges before any successful kills at all. Unfortunately the low dodges didn't equal any zombies. I have 1 kill slot left right now but decided to save it, I'll try again tonight if I remember.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you'll be successful then! *crosses both fingers and toes for good measure*

By the way, do you zombify CBs or do you kill off mainly messies? I just ask because I work on Zombie lineages and I can always use kids of one living and one zombified parent for stuff like this:

https://dragcave.net/lineage/mru3l

https://dragcave.net/lineage/rUFyc

https://dragcave.net/lineage/RB1he  (Oi! Fresh egg - might be fogged for a while)

So if there would be one or the other 2nd gen lottery lot for me I wouldn't say no - although I'd drop the kid as soon as one of the parents dies the final death.

Personally I usually try to stick to CBs, although some of my zombies are messies. I do that mainly because I've decided to collect exclusively messies, if possible, of every regular breed, so I don't really need the CBs I pick up or already have. I recently went through and gathered 393 of my older CBs into a potential-zombie-fodder group (that took forever!). I've also used a handful of stuff I've bred myself on accident (wrong mate or wrong breed).

Ah, I see. I decided to go only for CBs (or an occasional dragon I bred for zombifying). Funnily one bred dragon (that didn't turn alt and which I thus let die as hatchie) actually turned Zombie when I thought I wouldn't mind if it would die (and even more funny - I revived it the day *before* Halloween!): https://dragcave.net/lineage/5A2Fs

On 30'th of September, at latest, because a month later it wouldn't have existed anymore.

Oops, silly me. I guess the heat is getting at me(we currently have tropical temperatures here and I'm living on ice-cream). Yeah, this was a month earlier. But then, I did kill a couple of dragons one day before Halloween, too and was successful then, too, which surprised me a lot.

I do the same, mainly use CBs or self-bred ones for the more difficult types.

Also, can someone help me with the math please? I had it all worked out for the last 31st and then I lost the paper...

In order for fodder to be still there on the 31st, it should die on the 18th, right?

So I can hatch a potential hatchling the earliest on the 11th?

The 17th for October would be exactly two weeks from the 31st, so I guess the 17th is when you'd want to kill adults if you planned to try another batch on the 31st as well, I think?

And a dragon hatched on the 11th would die on the 17th-18th too, or grow up roughly on the 16th, I think.

I don't think my brain is cooperating with me today so I may be wrong and also might be a little confused about the actual topic, but I tried xD

I'm not sure about hatch date, but I will echo the other person in that the 17th is when you want to kill adults. Be careful when doing so though, as they are on the edge of disappearing.  Make sure to kill them with enough time left on the 31st to revive them before they disappear.  If you kill on the 18th, you will not have your kill slots back by the 31st.

In other news, had a batch of hatchlings, 35 to be exact.  Got ONE zombie out of the whole lot.  Bleh.  At least it was a baikala

Thanks, @ObsinBrightclaw and @Nectaris! I just wanted to make sure. With the hatching date I meant that if I hatch an egg on the 11th and let the hatchling run out of time, it should die on the 18th and therefore still be available on the 31st.

@Chococat0815, the earliest hatching day is the 10th since you have a full seven days before a hatchie dies which would bring the date of death to the 17th. But what @Nectaris said about the adults is true for the hatchlings as well: You have to pick your time carefully so you actually get around to reviving them on the 31st before the tombstone disappears. Hatching them on the 11th is therefore surely the safer option.

0/7 successfull Hatchling Zombie attempts... one Hatchie revived and grew adult though ^^

0/5 Adult attempts  (2 dodges)

Meeeehhhhhhh.... what a waste today... Next time I wait with the adult revival until the 31st. That was a massacre today >.<

While we can make zombies all year and I appreciate how much this thread continues to help people try to be successful with zombies throughout the year, Halloween generally seems to be the time where we all get the MOST successes, and I just want to send out a reminder that whether you are new or old, you need a refresher on this thread so you can get the MAXIMUM ability to not only get zombies, but have a way to "collect all the sprites" of all the different zombie types we have now. These guys are some of the experts on how it is done. Make sure to keep an eye on this thread and take a glance over it and keep it marked as we are going to be finished with summer, creeping into fall, and then creeping into Halloweens, and zombie prep on your scroll is a bit of an art form but is also very much time sensitive, so make sure you are tuning in if you would like to get some little ones on your scroll from your first zombie, just getting more, or filling out some of the zombie sprites you don't have yet!

Had a bunch of hatchling fails, not going to try again until the 31st.

Fails since last success: 17

Days since last success: 19

Unfortunately since I use caveborns for fodder I can't get as many tries in as others, even when I'm doing nothing with my scroll other than fogging and killing.

Two kills (no dodges, wow!), two disintegrations. Didn't realize until after those two that the kill slots won't come back by the 31st, oops. Saving the other three slots at least.

Got two new zombies today!

Adult Leviathan https://dragcave.net/lineage/PKkTS

S2 Pygmy Lindwurm https://dragcave.net/lineage/JnCBB

Experiment batch:

5 adults = (2 disintegrate, 1 success, 2 obsolete (didn't try because they were same type of fodder as success))

19 hatchlings = (14 disintegrates, 3 normal revives, 1 success, 1 obsolete)

2/21 actual attempted dragons turned.

Fails since last success: 23

Days since last success: 30
