Posted October 14, 2010 I really don't understand the problem some have with the green stripe. Many animals have a stripe along their spine, and as these are dragons, why not green? Posted October 14, 2010 Coming out of lurker mode to thank JOTB, Vicats, and dracchan, not only for these beautiful dragons, but for their professionalism in handling critiques. You guys rock. Like most of you, I remember the Embers from the completed list and have been eagerly awaiting their release. They really are one of the most epic dragons we have here, and I can't wait to have adults on my scroll. I think I remember the Harvests too and am pleased they've been released. I personally love the green stripe, and the adult female's pose is awesome. I only wish they'd been a smaller breed so we could breed them with our Pumpkin dragons. That would have been cute. And thanks to TJ for giving us this wonderful playground! I've been laid up with a knee injury for two months and Dragon Cave has really been a source of comfort for me. Thank you for all the fun and lulz and surprises that DC brings. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 I'm happily locked with three of each kind. Thanks to the spriters for two more awesome dragons. Share this post Link to post

Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) I finished the Harvest one. Here it is: Here's the code: [IMG]http://gickr.com/results4/anim_509fbf56-80e0-14c4-fd69-737206df040e.gif/IMG] Edited October 14, 2010 by PieMaster Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 I've got 2 harvests and 3 embers, and I gotta say, I'm lovin' the green stripe. Share this post Link to post

The harvest dragon is taller then a skunk. And while green and yellow go well together the MASSIVE amounts of yellow compared to the itty bitty amount of green makes the green a teensy bit distracting. And this is MY OPINION so everybody is free to love or hate the stripe on their own. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) I would prefer if the stripe was a bit darker and perhaps wider. The first time I glanced at it, it looked like one of those artifacts left over from a bad transparent-background GIF. I didn't realize it was even there until some people noted it. I don't MIND the stripe, I just would have done it differently. It's just too far on the side of "mint" for my taste. Not quite a fall color. (Also, I believe posting on this forum is lucky now. The second I posted, I finally grabbed one of the new eggs!) Edited October 14, 2010 by MidnightVoyager Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 Two of my hatchies have gendered, a harvest and an ember, both female. They should grow up in about 12 hours. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 I understand the '10 harvest will not breed with pumpkin dragons (I don't have any of the latter anyway), but will they breed with everything else? And will they be available year 'round? Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 just got an ember 8D now i'll need a second of both breeds to get both genders Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) I hope, hope, hope my two Embers gender one male, one female! ♥ Edited October 14, 2010 by MysticTiger Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 I understand the '10 harvest will not breed with pumpkin dragons (I don't have any of the latter anyway), but will they breed with everything else? And will they be available year 'round? I'm pretty sure because of the size difference that pumpkins and harvests will not be able to breed together but I will not know for sure until mine grows up in about 11 hours. I think based on what has been said previously, that the harvest dragons are permanent additions and will be available year round. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 I can't even see this green stripe everyone is speaking of without zooming way in on the dragon. I think the Harvest dragons are adorable, and they're my favorite out of this release. The only thing I can agree with about the green stripe is that it doesn't fit my idea of a harvest/autumn color. But then, I thought the dragon's name was based more on its feeding habits than its coloration, so I still can't find fault with it. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2010 My comment about the embers isn't about being humble. The sprite is pretty old and there are technical errors in it, places where I could have created volume or texture and didn't, places where I could have avoided tangents or shaded differently (also places where I LolANOTOMEE?'d). They ultimately serve the style of the sprite in being cohesively wrong (and I am pleased with a lot of it, still... The embers are my babies.), but it's pretty clear that Harvests are amazing sprites when it comes down the the technical. They have wonderfully balanced saturation, contrast, anatomy. (Also Harvests are pretty rad in general. And I love the green stripe.) The embers have the charisma of a dark and brooding dragon in their favor, and a slightly more dynamic pose than is typical with sprites, and I think they are probably one of my better sprites for that... just not for being a technically strong sprite. Posted October 14, 2010 I love the wings on the Harvest dragons, especially the female adult. They really are a fantastic dragon. Share this post Link to post

Posted October 14, 2010 Oh wow, I'm totally late to the party, but those Ember dragons have me drooling! Pardon the "most-likely-already-asked-but-I'm-gonna-ask-again" question: Any clues as to breeding patterns on these new lovelies? Share this post Link to post
