  1. Caught a cute little second gen black hatchie: http://dragcave.net/lineage/4TEYl
  2. After spending months on a breeding project, I got the final egg in the lineage. Then I accidentally put it in the hatcheries with the rest of the eggs I was working on that day and it got sick. (Luckily I noticed in time and managed to save it!)
  3. Why change? Most people like chocolate. That doesn't mean that people who don't should be seeking a way to rewire their taste buds so they can enjoy chocolate like everyone else. It just means everyone is different.
  4. My old cats used to come back and visit me sometimes. I'd be lying very still in my bed, and I'd feel something land - thump! - at the foot of the bed, and then a vibration like something purring, but if I opened my eyes to look, there would be nothing there. I've been saying that something is in the apartment I'm in now, too. Sometimes the cat will be here doing her cat thing, and suddenly she'll stare at something that isn't there, hiss and fluff her fur, and run away. I've had experiences where I'd get into bed (in my otherwise cold room) and there would be a warm patch like someone had been sitting there. Sometimes the sink turns on by itself, too, but I think that's just wonky plumbing. My sister says the house she's living in now is haunted by the ghost of the first woman who lived there. She's had experiences of things moving around when she takes her eyes off them and weird noises in the attic and basement. My dad's friend Eve used to live in an old house that was once a Civil War hospital. She had all the usual troubles with doors that wouldn't stay closed and windows that wouldn't stay open, but she also heard voices. She'd be upstairs, and someone downstairs would yell, "Who's up there?" She'd tell them to shut up. Eve is a tough woman.

  6. My friend has the perfect mate for an egg from that pair (edited a little because I am not sure if that word is allowed around here)

    Yu-Gi-OH!

Oh, hey, Zexal. I've been watching that. It's a silly little show but I can't help but like it - it's just so gleefully exuberant. It has robots and ninjas and aliens and a magical catgirl and an episode focused entirely around tomatoes and it just does not care. And then, just when it's lulled you into a sense of security and made you think it's all cute and lighthearted, it throws a wham episode at you. It's just loads of fun. I've seen all the other seasons, and read most of the manga related stuff I could get my hands on (I have YGO R in English and Japanese). GX was my favorite by far, which I know puts me in a small minority.
  8. It would appear that I've bred a glob: http://dragcave.net/lineage/agLOB
  9. I grabbed two for myself, to have a breeding pair. That's probably all I'm going to want for a while - they're lovely dragons but not really to my taste. I do want more of the royal blues, though. Right now, I'm having more fun stalking the alpine zone for harvest dragons than trying to compete for the new stuff.
  10. Three total. Two slightly messy but non-inbred silvers and one badly inbred gold Dorkface. I traded for both the silvers; the gold was a gift from a friend. None of them have ever produced any eggs, despite repeated attempts at breeding.
  11. Hmm... I'm proud of a lot of my dragons, but I guess my greatest accomplishment is my CB Black, Numbers 96 Dark Mist. She's probably the rarest thing I've managed to catch by myself, as opposed to being gifted or trading, and I like the name I gave her, plus she's had a number of lovely Tinsel children.
  12. Choosing from what's on the list right now... Catkin Feles Indigo Fire Iridescent Mithril Phos Porcelain Quicksilver (Eastern) Sunshower Tanglewyrm Unicorn (Eastern) Willowherb I think the Tanglewyrm and Willowherb are pretty closely tied for first place. But there are so many pretty dragons on the list, even shortening it this much is a challenge!
  13. After much clicking, I've finally managed to get a pair of each, and influence them to be one male and one female of each type. Now nothing to do but kick back and wait to see what they turn into. Bet they're pretty~
  14. Evidence of my continuing obsession with spiraling all the things: Skywing/Spitfire: http://dragcave.net/lineage/EJsuW Moonstone/Gray: http://dragcave.net/lineage/sofSS Harvest/Electric: http://dragcave.net/lineage/Oc8Q5 Sunstone/Bright-Breasted Wyvern: http://dragcave.net/lineage/B0qhu Shadow Walker/Gray: http://dragcave.net/lineage/ciCuf Misfit/Seawyrm: http://dragcave.net/lineage/XHPOT Purple/Pebble: http://dragcave.net/lineage/qVKK2 Whiptail/Water Horse: http://dragcave.net/lineage/2mkr4 Tanger/Canopy: http://dragcave.net/lineage/81i8k So, like, anyone want a baby dragon? If one of these sets strikes your fancy, I'd be happy to share an egg or two.
  15. I joined Dragon Cave two or three years ago because I saw someone with an alt black and thought it was pretty, and I wanted one for myself. A couple of weeks ago I got my first alt, after years of trying and failing. Then I caught a black egg and gave it to a friend of mine, who is still fairly new and didn't have a black egg yet. It was an alt. How's that for luck?
  16. I just about died of cute when I saw the new looks on the dragons. I particularly love the tree-Pillows, and seeing my army of Harvests draped in lights, and the little musical Greenwings... I'll miss them when they're gone. Looking forward to the rest of the events!
  17. I caught this beauty off the AP and it hatched today! http://dragcave.net/lineage/0rWuA This is my first alt black, so I'm very happy.
  18. Just caught this festive pink egg a moment ago: http://dragcave.net/lineage/OAuSf
  19. If I have to write by hand, I prefer a pencil. A good one, made out of real wood and not the kind made out of pressed cardboard and Elmer's glue, or whatever those are. Pencils never do that irritating thing where they suddenly stop writing even though you can see that there's still ink in there. But my handwriting is awful, so I type whenever possible.
  20. Finished my 50,000 over the weekend. Woot? Though I purposely tackled a much larger project than I could actually finish in just 50,000, so I don't feel like I've really finished much.
  21. I was always a Lego block kid. I liked putting stuff together, sorting them all by color, building sets and playing out elaborate stories with them. I had a big back yard to run around in, so I spent a lot of time out there pretending to be all kinds of things and having adventures. I was also a pretty bookish kid - I read my first chapter book with no pictures when I was in first grade. I was also a pretty artistic sort. I'd sit in my room listening to music and coloring with colored pencils for hours.
  22. The first thing I do when I get home is to kick off my shoes. I'm just more comfortable without them. Part of this is because I tend to twist myself into odd contortions when I sit and shoes get in the way.
  23. To quote Elan of Order of the Stick fame, I GOT A 4!
  24. My paternal grandfather was of German ancestry, and my paternal grandmother was Irish. I think there's a little English mixed in there somewhere, but I'm not sure where the connection is. My mother's family is mainly Dutch, but they apparently they intermarried with the local native tribes, though that's far enough back that nobody remembers which tribe anymore.
  25. I'm so proud - after nearly a year of work, I finished knitting a kimono: http://i42.tinypic.com/25tjg5i.jpg I made a lot of mistakes with it, but it was a good learning experience.
