  1. Howdy, folks. c: Kiara Aukior, Talia Merek, and Katrina Mason have been accepted. Narvix and MrSpyro said it best. c: Yeah, 8:6 is definitely fine with me; I just hated that there was such an unbalance yesterday at, like, 7:2. (Doctortear, I believe Spyro is counting Sammy's male and female once they're submitted.) Sammy, Narvix, and Doctortear, I know you guys have been working hard to get your sheets in, so would you like us to wait before we kick off? If so, we'll get started promptly after. If not, we'll go ahead and get going. — Oh, yeah, and here's this from the IC if you guys missed it:
  2. Either way. It's your choice as the roleplayer. c:
  3. Hope you get to feeling better, Sammy, and no worries. Your reservations are safe. As of currently, the male to female ratio is way out of proportion (7:2), and I would really like that to level out a bit before we begin for my own OCD. We should be getting a couple of more females in soon though, so I don't believe we'll be waiting much longer. If I had to guess, we'll probably start sometime tomorrow evening (CST).
  4. Gotcha. Thanks for catching that. Truth to be told, I'd rather not because I'm dreadfully lazy, but if the general consensus is that it'd be easier on the eyes, then I'll try and find time to fix it tomorrow. Just let me know.
  5. Same. "Fogbound Lake" is, like, my spirit track. Ho-Oh is now reserved for you. In your dreams.
  6. And that, folks, is why you should never let me become a Math teacher. It's the square root of all evil. See what I did there? Sweet. Can't wait to see them. I'll have to sleep on that one. See, I have an idea in mind for what I'd love to happen once our characters finally reach the island—it's a plot twist of sorts. Give me a few days to figure out if that'll work or not. Eh, and I think they were just generally stating that their Pokés hold Mega Stones, but if not, then yeah. Megas revert after battle.
  7. The Hoenn region in particular has quite a few technological advances. Devon Corp's PokéNav can call peeps, download maps, etc. It's what this region has in place of phones, but like Archios said, the setting for the RP is primarily apocalyptic, so in some places technology might work and other places, not so much. When some of the legendaries were shifted from their original positions, landmasses changed with them. Electricity poles and power plants might have been uprooted as a result. Mewtwo is now reserved. Welcome to the party! I'm sorry that you didn't get your first picks though. :/ You can incorporate them as additional abilities if you would like. Your form is accepted. c: @Esko_the_Wolf - Hey, Esko, I was looking over the forms again and realized that I had an oversight in regards to your Pokémon team. You have Volcanion listed as one of your 'mons, and I neglected to catch him as being a legendary. I'm adding him to the master list soon. Do you mind editing that when you get a chance? Thanks! EDIT: Dang, you chose the perfect theme for Roxanne. Also, I have a bias for Mystery Dungeon.
  8. Accepted, with the exception of one tidbit—Brandon being able to see into the island the legendaries are on. Everything else is okay though. c: Here's Roxanne's form if anyone's curious.
  9. 'Ello, Batman. (I know this dork in real life.) Welcome to the DC Forum. I'd be happy to reserve Palkia for you, but first, I strongly suggest that you read through a couple of threads on roleplaying before you start character building and etc. They're pretty helpful for beginners. • Information and Rules (RP Section) • RP Guides, Tips, Information and Help
  10. Storing here just in case I get to use him sometime. Name: Ezra King Age: Seventeen Legendary: Giratina Appearance: [ B E F O R E ] Ezra is tall and rangy with long fingers and even longer legs. It makes his inability to stay still all the more noticeable and all the more curious; it's curious to some how the boy always has the appearance of being uncomfortable in his own skin. Ez's hair—which is generally untidy—is a dark brown reminiscent of chocolate; it contrasts vividly with his pale skin. The grayish circles grooving his steely eyes contrast with all the whiteness as well, betraying his many sleepless nights. He prefers clothing from the darker spectrum of colors. [ A F T E R ] Due to Giratina's influence, Ezra's hair turns black with red highlights interweaving. His eyes turn crimson as well. Personality: Ezra's appearance and his personality are closely related. He's a weary soul, quiet and easily irritable in consequence to this. He prefers to keep to himself, prefers to dwell in his own darkness if given the choice. Anger him though, and his temper is unrivaled. He can become very wrathful very quickly. However, Ez can be perfectly amiable if he needs to be, give or take a sarcastic retort or two. Pokémon: - Gabite (29) - Milotic (31) - Gallade (29) - Ponyta (32) - Scolipede (30) - Luxio (30) History: Ezra grew up in a broken home, which means that when his parents weren't fighting and divorcing, they were either smothering or ignoring Ezra. His only escape was battling, which he uses as a defense mechanism; he can completely emerge himself in the art if he needs to cool down or get away from everything for awhile. Ezra's journey has spanned a good portion of Hoenn. Abilities/Skills: • Ezra can traverse through shadows and use them in battle should he need to. • Giratina's inherent aggressiveness and territoriality have rubbed off on Ezra; his battle instincts have been refined as a result. 11. Luke Skarsgard, Lillia Rosen, Takaki Sakiyama, and Miteki Kurasuma have been accepted. Reserved. c: I'm sorry, TehUltimateMage, but you're welcome to join us anytime if you change your mind! When I was creating the legendaries, I came this close to adding the power to shift between Black/White Kyurem on Kyurem's description. I got lazy though, so there went that idea. If you would like, you can incorporate it into your sheet as an extra ability. The same goes for other legendaries with different forms (e.g. Meloetta). QUICK NOTE: I would really like the M:F ratio to even out a little bit before we begin, so if you guys could help with that, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm retracting Ezra King and relinquishing my claim on Giratina to create an Azelf girl for this purpose. Thanks. Can't wait to get started!
  12. Rotom is pretty spectacular, but I don't really consider it a legendary due to its ability to breed and frequency in competitive battling. However, if we run out of legendaries for some reason or another, I might be willing to add it to the list!
  13. Of course. - Once we get a few more character sheets in—I would like for the M:F ratio to even out a bit if possible—our roleplay will start, and here is a bit of background info for how I think that it should. Our characters will be contacted by their respective legendaries; each roleplayer can be as creative about this process as they would like. It could be as simple as the Pokémon communicating telepathically or as complex as the champion hearing voices coming from the campfire. The gist of what the legendary should say is a basic run through of the plot and a summons to meet at the fields beyond Fortree City, where all the champions will congregate for the first time. There, alliances and plans will be formed; our champions can clash or bond for the first time, and then everyone can go their separate ways in the pursuit of whatever they feel is the best option. Sound good?
  14. Cool. Just let me know, and I'll set that up for you. c: Yup. I believe I have a sentence or two about that in the 'Additional Notes' section of the IC.
  15. Awesome. c: Just get it in whenever you can. Short answer: yes. Long answer: I haven't really cemented the logistics of it, but from what I can speculate, the legendaries use their "special powers" to search for a person with a similar aura. This is the person they make their champion, but in the case of death, can repeat the process. — Also, we have an OOC now, guys!
  16. This is an OOC for Pokémon: Distortion Games. We can use it for discussing plot lines, characters, etc. ' A N S W E R E D - Q U E S T I O N S ' Q: Could the legendaries possibly communicate with their champions via telepathy? A: Yup. The legendaries can even act as voices of wisdom for champions. Q: Out of curiosity, can we have pokemon teams with movesets included in our sheets? If so, how many pokemon should there be max and around what levels? A: Yeah, totally. While our champions' actual Pokémon might be secondary to this particular plot, they still can play a vital role, so I would say game rules apply—six 'mons per team and levels can be dependent on your character's unique experience as a trainer. Rookies might have 20s and experts, 50s. Q: If a legend's champion dies, would they be able to pick another one immediately? A: Q: I have a quick inquiry if you don't mind me asking. What do we do with Black/White Kyurem? Is there some sort of special rule that we're going to use involving it, are we just going to not include them into this story, or something? I'm completely fine either way, I'm just curious. On a side note, I should get my sheet in tonight if everything goes as planned. A: When I was creating the legendaries, I came this close to adding the power to shift between Black/White Kyurem on Kyurem's description. I got lazy though, so there went that idea. If you would like, you can incorporate it into your sheet as an extra ability. The same goes for other legendaries with different forms (e.g. Meloetta). Q: Wait so in Pokemon is it in a future setting? Do they have like- I dunno, phones? A: The Hoenn region in particular has quite a few technological advances. Q: Do Pokemon talk? As in not the legendarily like the Pokemon team? A: Thank you, Narvix and MrSpyro. Q: Quick question if I may, does the transformation into becoming a champion hurt and is the appearance change instantaneous after the light is gone? I just want to be sure I'm not messing anything up when posting my intro. A: I think it might be unique for every person. If your character merely changes hair color, then the most they might feel is a tickling sensation around their head. If they grow new appendages, however, that might be a whole different story altogether. The light bathes your character from head to toe and each part of the metamorphosis is done in a singular fashion, so there's a bit of a process to it, but probably not a long one. Honestly, I could just succinctly say that you can take whatever creative license you would like because each legendary/champion is different. Q: Quick question before I post: Is the world already going down, in terms of the weather and such? Or is this before the effects become too noticeable? A: It's pretty much as bad as it's going to get for the time being; the only deviations take place in freak storms and natural disasters that are the consequences of the legendary imbalances. Q: To clarify, does this mean that weather is so far the only abnormality? Or are infrastructures, electricity, and such, already fallen apart? A: Yeah, they have, and for the most part, said incidents are related. Tsunamis have wrecked coastal towns. Earthquakes have collapsed infrastructures. A lack of thriving greenery has lowered crop/herb production and thus made healthy eating a rarity and plant-based medicines a luxury. In summation, the absence of legendaries in their respective jurisdictions have caused many, if not all of the world's natural environments to suffer in some way, which have in turn affected human life. Q: Btw, is there going to be any travel between regions, or are we limited to Hoenn? A: Travel is limited to Hoenn for the time being. Q: On the factor of subplots, what will we not be allowed to do? A: ' W O R L D B U I L D I N G ' [ Because imagining and describing an apocalyptic Hoenn is going to be a team effort, I thought it would be cool if we had a compiled list of canon traits for that sole purpose. I'll try to grab things from the IC, but if you would like something to be added, let me know. c: ] ' T I M E L I N E ' ' I M P O R T A N T - N E W S ' • [5/19] In the 'Additional Notes' section, I've just elaborated on one of the cults I had been rambling on about, but never really explaining. Anti-heroes can portray it to be a semi-ally of sorts, and heroes can utilize it as a villain. // In the IC, there is a post on how we could begin the roleplay towards the bottom of the first page. • [5/20] As of currently, the M:F ratio is 7:2. We should be ready to begin when it is at least 7:5.
  17. Mhm, roleplayers will get to control their specific legendaries to create a relationship between the champion and the Pokémon, and no problem.
  18. Reserved. c: I'm sorry that you didn't get your first choice, but Darkrai is yours as sure as the shirt on my back!
  19. Accepted! Dragonball Z, maybe? I don't really know. xP Gotcha. Entei is now reserved for you. :3
  20. No prob. c: Reshiram is now reserved. _ Adding my form here for linking purposes. Name: Roxanne Myrick Age: Seventeen. What do you mean this used to be sixteen? Pssh. Legendary: Azelf Appearance: [ B E F O R E ] Roxanne is tall and willowy, the type of girl you would expect to see in high-waisted shorts and hipster tank tops with a physique such as hers (she does indeed like those articles of clothing by the way). Her hair is a light, mousy brown, and she almost always keeps it tucked in a rushed plait to prevent her vision from being obscured; it can get somewhat wild uncombed. Her complexion is fair, but dappled with freckles—there's a supernova of them on her cheeks and nose. Even so, the average observer would note that she's rather pretty. [ A F T E R ] Azelf's influence causes her hair to become the blue of the Pokémon's head. Her eyes change from hazel to liquid gold, soft and pooling. In addition, a pale birthmark resembling the gem on Azelf's forehead has appeared near her hairline. Personality: Despite her slight appearance, Roxanne has a formidable—no, commanding—personality. Her constant attention to propriety simultaneously demands respect and exudes a certain unstated elegance about her. "Perfectionism" could probably be her middle name. She's a natural leader and likes to inhabit this role, likes to orchestrate events to her desired outcome; Azelf had found kinship with this determination and chose her as a result. Sometimes, however, said determination is to Roxanne's detriment. She can get carried away with herself and allow the "details" to get in the way of the "big picture." The control freak part of her personality wants to micromanage every, single aspect of any situation, no matter how minute. Otherwise though and overall, she has a generous heart and an even more generous spirit. Pokémon: - Gardevoir (33) - Growlithe (29) - Servine (31) - Scizor (30) - Gliscor (31) - Milotic (32) History: Roxanne grew up in a loving home with loving parents in Slateport City; she was never wanting for anything and needs were always met in an excessive fashion. Spoiled, some people call her. The part of her personality with an increased sense of self-importance could be attributed to this sheltered upbringing. Abilities/Skills: • In addition to Azelf's main gift, Roxanne is highly attuned to telepathy and can commune with other people/creatures with her mind. Telekinesis, however? Not so much. She stinks at it. • Since giving/taking willpower is more of a defensive ability, Roxanne can project temporary shields around herself and one or two others as well. This comes in handy when enemies target her. Other: • Roxanne, when irritated, expresses her discomfort with passive aggression. She can be quite petulant about it when she wants to. • Her biggest insecurity lies in not being the leader or the great person people would like her to be. • She has a gravelly voice with a pleasant, though formal lilt. In connection to this, Roxanne always speaks with propriety. • Call her Roxie and you die a horrible, fiery death.
  21. Thank you, and of course! Yeah, totally. While our champions' actual Pokémon might be secondary to this particular plot, they still can play a vital role, so I would say game rules apply—six 'mons per team and levels can be dependent on your character's unique experience as a trainer. Rookies might have 20s and experts, 50s.
  22. ' P R O L O G U E ' They materialize one by one, roaring and hissing, eyes gleaming with animalistic rage: Arceus, Xerneas, Lugia, Darkrai, Groudon, and on and on. They have been summoned to an island far off Hoenn's coast, one big enough to host the world's plethora of legendary Pokémon, but leagues away from human detection. They're trapped, too. Flyers are inhibited by a pale, almost transparent forcefield, and the various dimensions and holes have been sealed to prevent teleportation. Dialga senses that time had been ripped to accomplish this feat. Palkia wonders why the spacial pockets around them feel so warped. In the midst of all this, an odd looking creature with bulbous eyes—Hoopa, he's called—sniggers from atop his throne made of trees; he's orchestrated this little get together. The party belongs to him, and it has only begun. Around their little island, the world begins to crumble in the imbalance of its protectors being trapped in Hoopa's game, of time and space having been disturbed to make it so. They can do nothing but watch it fall. ' P L O T ' The aftermath of Hoopa's trick is not a sight to behold in the wonderful world of Pokémon. Society, for a lack of better words, has turned apocalyptic. Cults roam the street with the singular goal of furthering the epoch of chaos. Pokémon of the sinister variety terrify the hapless passerby. Landmasses have risen and fallen in time with the natural disasters (of which there have been very many without the weather legendaries), and tsunamis are daily occurrences now: five o'clock on the dot at the Dewford Town beach. If something isn't done soon, it might be in order to say that the end times are coming. Our heroes and heroines—we can't forget our anti-heroes as well—are young teenagers and adults with whom the legendaries connect with so much that they would like to champion them. In doing so, they imbue these humans with the power to potentially stop Hoopa, should they get close enough to the island to try. Of course, however, this endeavor will have to be a group effort, and with such a wide array of personalities clashing together? It might not happen any time soon. ' L E G E N D A R I E S ' The champion that a legendary chooses already possesses qualities that make the two akin to each other; after it chooses, however, only then is the champion imbued with powers and physiological additions that complete the certain aspect of "oneness" this process promotes. Ex. A champion of Shaymin might go from having brown to green hair. Below, is a list of the most prevalent power that each champion receives according to their legendary. (This is not to say that it is the singular power they are given; as the roleplayer, you can add nuance here and there!) X = Reserved X= Taken ' R U L E S ' • Standard DC rules apply. • Keep it PG-13. • Semi-Lit • Keep yo' Mary Sues and Gary Stus from becoming too much of a Mary Sue or a Gary Stu. Some of these legendaries are extremely powerful, and I understand if you would like to incorporate that into your character building, but there's a line between fact and perfection. • Legendaries choose one champion per person, so grab 'em while they're available! • Before asking a question, head on over to the OOC to check if it's already been asked. I'll be posting important reminders and updates there as well. • Have as many characters as you would like. • Enjoy. c: ' C H A R A C T E R - S H E E T ' Name: Age: Legendary: Appearance: (Include both before and after descriptions. What did they look like before the guardian of antimatter possessed their bodies? Hehe.) Personality: (Remember, the legendary chose your character because of their similarities. Keep that in mind as you build personality.) Pokémon: You can have up to six 'mons per team. Levels are dependent on your character's experience as a trainer. History: (Optional.) Abilities/Skills: (What can they do in addition to their main power?) Other: ' A D D I T I O N A L - N O T E S ' • OOC • No champion can use their power(s) for an extended period of time; the attempt would be exhausting, and in extreme cases, fatal or permanently debilitating. A long exertion usually results in the champion being down for a few days. • The roleplay takes place in the Hoenn region as this is where all of the legendary Pokémon have been summoned. • Champions can communicate with their respective legendaries telepathically; said Pokés are generally voices of wisdom. • The gym leaders and the Elite Four still occupy their positions as they want to remain diligent battlers in this time of crisis, so obtaining badges can be a side plot for some characters. • Hoenn's geography is pretty much the same, just darker and, well, apocalyptic. • The cults mentioned in the plot are akin to syndicates such as Team Rocket and Flare. The only difference is that the cults do their evil deeds in the name of Hoopa; these can fleshed out as we progress in the storyline. The most important cult, however, is Team Distortion, Hoopa's biggest and most deadly advocate. Though their goal is simplistic—to ensure that the mischievous, little bugger's reign continues as long as possible—their means to achieve that goal are effective to say the least. Many of its disciples are strong in the conviction that the state of the legendaries is more beneficial than it is destructive, and it's a well-conceived argument. Some people, expressly the elite, have benefited from this shift in the power balances. ' A C C E P T E D - C H A R A C T E R S ' The gender ratios have pretty much evened out now.
