  1. I absolutely LOVE re-reading The Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce. It was my favorite series as a kid, and even now as an adult I love it! Pierce is my favorite author and I own most of her books, but I can't help reading Alanna's story the most often. Whenever I read it I notice little nuances that I didn't notice the last time I read it, and it just brings me back to my childhood.
  2. I think everybody should listen to "Just Keep Breathing" by We The Kings. It's a really good song, and I listen to it a lot when I get anxiety. WTK did a concert at my college last year and I actually cried when they played this song because it carries a lot of heavy emotions for me.
  3. Aaaah I love Monster Hunter! My first one was Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the 3DS, but I have since upgraded to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and it's super fun! I really didn't like the swimming mechanic in 3U, so I'm glad they removed it in 4U. My main weapon is the Hunting Horn, but I also like using Dual Swords sometimes! I like the Hunting Horn because I usually play support roles in games and the HH lets me be support and have some heavy-hitting attacks as well! I haven't played any of the earlier games because I didn't own the systems (Nintendo consoles, yo) but maybe someday I'll ge
  4. Oh man, Undertale has one of the best storylines in any game I've played in a long time. The characters are surprisingly well-developed and there's clearly a lot of thought put into every aspect of the game! Other than that, Portal 2 is an AWESOME game for story elements even though I haven't finished it yet ^^;
  5. I love Undertale! I'm actually at the final boss fight but I haven't managed to beat it yet. Mettaton and Napstablook are my all-time favorite characters though <3 Blooky is so precious!
  6. In short, Mother Nature has been having some major mood swings. We got about 14 inches of snow on Thursday, then it turned to rain, then thunderstorms, then more snow on Friday morning, and then it snowed another 2 inches or so today, rained some more, and then we got a light dusting of snow again. Very cold, and lots and lots of snow Oh the joys of living in the north-eastern US~
  7. Platinum: Lol "syne-thingy I cannot pronounce" thank you for making me giggle~ but that's odd, never heard of chocolate having an astringent aftertaste... Maybe it was bad chocolate? Or does that happen with all chocolate? Rainbow: I don't think I've done Elizabeth. It's blue and pale yellow, Liz is a light shimmery green, and Beth is a silky sky blue color, very pretty! ^__^
  8. Yeah, recently on my deviantART account, I've been doing "Synesthesia art". Basically, I'll take a song I like, or one someone requests, put it on repeat and paint on dA Muro the colors and patterns of the song. Or, I'll take a name (right now I'm working on my friend's names) and write out the name in the color(s) that it has for me! I have a lot more name art pieces than song art pieces, because if I listen to one song for too long, I get a headache DX though the art looks very pretty o3o
  9. Oh, happily ever after, wouldn’t you know, wouldn’t you know. Oh, skip to the ending, who’d like to know, I’d like to know. Author of the moment, can you tell me, do I end up, do I end up happy? ((Lyrics to a really good song ))
  10. Name: 6/10 interesting, but I don't get what you're going for there... Avatar: 7/10 a bit creepy, but very interesting Siggy: 5/10 It's simple and to the point, but it 's borderline minimalist.
  11. @AngesRadieux: O_O holy flipping pineapples that has GOT to be annoying! I'd probably be able to do that, but that doesn't mean I would like it! It's a good thing I'm trying to keep this thread PG, or else I'd be swearing like a drunken pirate! (*coughJackSparrowcough*) but is that class mandatory for you to take? 'Cause if I were you and the class was optional, I'd drop it and switch to an art class instead o-o then again, I might be bias because I personally like art better than music X3
  12. Parker- fire engine red Kenny- rusty red Garrett- burnt orange Nate- purple and black Carlye- olive green Ashley- very bright, shimmery pink @AngesRadieux: ......o.O if you're talking about piano chords, I'm not much help there ^^;; I absolutely suck at the piano I can play Mary had a Little Lamb, but that's about it. Otherwise, I play flute and ocarina (ocarina is more of a hobby, though). There's a bit more to the whole color thing than you think, though. I can see color when I hear a note, but that's different from when I hear a chord or a song being played. It also depends
  13. Emily is a medium to light pink ^~^ and jeez it's quiet (I'm in class and just finished taking an online test, so the teacher said that we could just do something quietly on our laptops until class is over)
  14. Alex- forest green and silver (two of my favorite colors! ^~^) Daniel- purple-y black @Kazeko: "at risk of killing the synesthetic"!? You're not gonna kill me by asking what your name/your friend's name X3
  15. Wow, with all these people posting here, maybe I should make a whole new thread where people with synesthesia can post the colors and such for the alphabet or numbers or names that they can think of, and maybe even songs or pitches/notes or instruments, too! ^~^
  16. Kerstin- deep blue and purple Elianna- pearly pink Lauren- sea blue and white Sofie- soft pink and cotton candy yellow @AngesRadieux: Yes, I've heard of synesthetic people with perfect pitch, but I unfortunately don't have completely perfect pitch, but I am quite close, because some of the colors of notes are very similar and it can be harder for me to discern between an E flat and an F, especially. And the only reason I MIGHT be able to tell an E flat major scale from an F major scale would be the fact that this is my sixth year playing the flute, so I'm a big music person X3 but t
  17. You do have a point there, and I respect that, though as you said, you don't really have the grounds to argue it. I admit I was a bit skeptical at first with so many people turning up and saying that they have synesthesia, since it's not a very widespread condition, but it is very possible that at least some of the people posting here legitimately do have synesthesia. And you're right, research synesthesia and what exactly causes it is very underdeveloped, so who's to say the people here don't have synesthesia? I sound a bit bipolar on this, but it's true, and I'm just trying really to prove a
  18. @_@ That. Is. Awesome!!! My mind has imploded. Mind if I ask what color my name is? My name's Monica. For me, my name is a light sea-green and lavender. ^~^ also for me, March is at about halfway between 3 and 4 o'clock, with the middle of December at approximately 12 o'clock
  19. Kelvin- bright orange Michelle- teal blue Kayla- hot pink and chocolatey brown Lexi- baby pink Alexis- dark pink and blue Kelsey- lavender purple Grayson- stormy blue Tobey- olive green @Psykotika: It is possible for someone to "lose" their synesthesia, but that only happens temporarily and is usually caused by a tragic event or an accident, so I'm not sure what to make of your story, but it sounds to me like you have synesthesia. Again, I'm no expert, but I can make an educated inference. I also think that the smell linked with memory might be a form of synesthesia, especia
  20. yeah Oddude, that is most definitely not synesthesia. I believe that's called lapsus linguae. (slip of the tongue) I actually almost confused my friends when we were at the mall once because they went into Abercrombie and Fitch (*barfs*) and I said that I'd wait outside because the music was too bright. I meant it because of my synesthesia and the music was really loud, making the color too bright, but my friends thought it was just a slip of the tongue X3
  21. Ah! Thanks for reminding me! I forgot to mention in one of my above posts that some people with synesthesia will have perfect pitch. And that's so cool that your brother has synesthesia! I haven't heard of someone with autism having synesthesia, so this is awesome! How did you figure out that he links the notes with colors?
  22. I'm sorry, I'm not an expert on this and I don't pretend to be, so I'm unsure as to whether you have synesthesia or not, because I am not all-knowing about this. I'm only in my freshman year of high school, so I'm still figuring myself out. Synesthesia can be very selective, like how I only see colors for first names, so the math operations one is likely, but only certain letters and numbers? Do you see anything in common with these characters, like are they all a similar shape (d, b, p, q) or odd numbers (1, 3, 5) or something of the sort? The sulfur smell I'd say is synesthetic in nature, bu
  23. Well if you really want to be sure, there are a lot of tests on the Internet you can take, but the people with synesthesia are normally left-handed, very creative in music and/or the arts, and when they picture the calendar year in their head, it's a circle, with each month at a certain point, like a clock! Now, you can be right-handed, see the calendar year as individual little calendars and not have a creative bone in your body and still have synesthesia, it's just that it's more common that a person with synesthesia normally has those qualities.
