  1. True that. If it gets knocked over, its back would break. I guess staying on your feet wouldn't be that easy while fighting. I'm just going by what I've learned.

Wait spino? Nah spino was really stable. It was low enough to the ground that if something tried knocking it over it probably could have braced with its arms, and if it did fall it wouldn't be too far.

  2. Ah yes, Dinosaurs. I have to say, my favourite is the Spinosaurus. A gigantic powerful beast that could easily overpower a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It's a shame it's not as popular as it should be, thanks to the fossils that were destroyed.

Spino is one of my favorite dinosaurs!

Couldn't -easily- kill a tyrannosaurus though. Could potentially win, but it is pretty low to the ground and not really built to be fighting other huge predators.

  3. Good lord no. Retroactively changing the lore and gender of tons of dragons stretching back six years? Turning reptiles into hermaphrodites (these aren't snails, seriously)? All for the sake of a very specific scroll goal? No support, at all. Anti-support even.

Its worth mentioning there are multiple hermaphroditic reptile species.

  4. I used to have a Royal Python! She was friendly and calm and she used to try and escape her viv all the time! I miss her. I would have another one but I don't want to have one only to have it eventually die again. I currently have a Guinea Pig and some quails and chickens if they count?

No worries with them dying, they live like 30+ years.

The oldest known one is approaching 50 iirc

  5. Feral cats kill to eat that is not murder, pet cats kill for fun and to maybe eat.

Should humans be killed too then by your logic? Because humans will continue to kill more then then ones who want to help. And there are also homeless humans that are problematic in lots of city's.

Pet cats going feral is again the fault of humans. Killing masses is never a fix.

Thats completely wrong. Mass killing a ton of humans would do wonders to fix the environment. I mean sure its ethically wrong and im not advocating it and etc etc but mass killing problematic species definitely helps.

  6. A python killed those two boys. The fact that they were in the same building doesn't make me feel any better about that.

That was still due to extreme negligence on the owners part.

That and the deaths made no sense from what was reported and i still suspect it wasnt the snake but-

Its riskier to have a child in a house statistically with any breed of dog than a snake. That, and it is very easy to avoid. A freak accident doesn't mean BAN IT, otherwise basically every normal everyday object would be illegal by now.

  7. Well, no. Invasiveness isn't the only problem. Escaped snakes anywhere can be VERY dangerous.

    One example.

There have been others. And those pythons are still for sale in some pet stores in NS.

Which has led to other incidents.

    Even in the UK.

There are pets and there are pets. And those which escape - and there are QUITE a few - can dramatically alter local ecosystems. Just as minks have in the UK, and raccoons in Germany.

Escaped pythons are not dangerous. There has never once been a case of an escaped snake harming someone other than the owner or other people in the house.

All the cases of other people in the house being harmed are basically always from extreme negligence on the owners part. Dogs and horses and whatever else are hundreds of times riskier.

Also no, there are barely any reptile species that have much of a potential for invasion that aren't already established. (aside from florida, but one states issues shouldn't become a national ban for no reason) I actually cannot think of a single species offhand that is commonly kept that poses any kind of invasion risk that isnt already banned, or isn't a US native species.

Even most of the exotic mammals that are banned don't actually pose an invasive risk in most of the places they're banned.

  8. I am all for banning the species of the big snakes like giant boa constrictors. look at what is happening in Florida. All those big snakes that are in the everglades and they are killing alligators and preying on people and their pets. You do have the irresponsible people who can not deal with them anymore and let them go. If they start breeding with other boa's, you will have an even more aggressive snake. I also think ordinary people should not be able to have posionous snakes that the USA does not have like Cobra's. Mamba's etc etc.

I am also against people owning species we do not have here like pirahna's, as people let those go as well.

    Below is one such story.

Description:Beneath the surface of a small Staten Island pond, a predator was poised to pounce. Crabbe and his sister Kaitlin came face to face with it while fishing with their grandpa last week. A fisherman of 50 years, Grandpa Crabbe knew right away and told his granddaughter, "No honey, its not a sunfish! Don't go near it!" Native only to South America, what the Crabbe family thought they caught was a pirahna, also known as a wolf of the water.

I have had snakes in my house like a Rainbow Boa, a beautiful snake at that.

I understand that my pets are animals, but I to love mine like they were my children. There is nothing wrong with that.

Animals give people whose children have left the nest, old people, sick people and many others a reason to go on living. Animals are a wonderful destressor for humans.

Oh god I didn't see this post forever ago.

See guys, this is the whole problem with people who want to ban big snakes. Literally all of them are doing it out of complete ignorance and are spreading facts everywhere that are blatantly untrue.

The ONLY places in the US that have any reason whatsoever to ban large snakes as an invasive issue are like one or two counties in florida, and hawaii. (and all snakes are already illegal in hawaii so..)

  9. WARNING: Do not click links if you don't like spiders.

Does anyone have any idea how I can move a spider and her egg sac without hurting/damaging either of them?

She's been living in the bathroom for maybe a month now, and now she has eggs. I'm ok with her living there, but I don't think the others will be ok with a bunch of spiderlings hanging out in the house. I don't even know what kind of spider she is. I was thinking a common/American house spider or a comb-footed/comb-clawed spider or a triangulate cobweb spider. I'm fairly certain she's not a brown widow because I can't see an hourglass.

I can try to get a picture if anyone's interested. |3

Unfortunately, the egg sac likely will not survive the move unless you keep both of them in a container or something

  10. To be fair, its probably good they aren't defensive megas.

All the defensive megas we've gotten have been pretty bad. (Well, except venusaur, but thats different)

Defensive pokemon are getting steadily more useless since gamefreak keeps releasing tons of pokemon that have ion cannons mounted to them.

  12. Plants absolutely can tell when they are being damaged.

It doesn't -hurt- though. Mostly because they don't have the capacity for something like that, and also because a huge negative feeling like that would be entirely useless since the whole point of pain is to get to to get away from something, or to stop doing something. WHich plants obviously can do neither.

  13. How do you know that? GF doesn't always give the best stat buffs, and they might screw up. You don't know what buffs it'll get, so you can't say that. Also, since it retains its sub-par speed for the first turn, it can't revenge kill and doesn't have many safe switch in thanks to not having the best defensive typing and defenses. Also, scarfed greninja's going to outspeed, and can easily OHKO with ice beam. The fact that it's SR weak isn't making it any more survivable.

Because unless they make it even slower ala mega garchomp, its going to be stupidly good no matter what they do. The design heavily implies it is going to get a boost in speed

    >can come in with moxie, wreck something, and be at +1 before it even mega evolves (intimidate isn't bad either, can force stuff out and then get a free dragon dance

    >has boosted defense

    >massive attack stat, is able to throw things off like flying type STAB double edges and returns

    >can hit through substitutes with STAB, probably will get a special attack boost too, making that hit hard

    >has access to dragon dance, after a single dragon dance it can plow through just about anything

I'm not saying to ban it, but it will be.

Also scarfed greninja isnt a great counter, because putting a scarf on greninja kind of ruins what makes greninja good. At most scarfed greninja could revenge kill it, but a ton of other pokemon can do that better so

  14. Um not really. We have a drawing of the femur. And it's from cope who I don't doubt.

I don't mean like that it didn't exist, but I mean the entire proportions/weight/length/look of it.
