  1. I prefer cb's so I can breed the way I want too.

I do have several very long messy inbred dragons, that I picked up from the AP, a long time ago. These I'm keeping separated from the rest of my dragons and not breeding them.

If I get eggs from the AP, I prefer ones that are very short generations, 2 or 3 at the most.

Some people belong to groups who breed long messy inbred lineages, so I feel if that's what they want, then so be it.

We all have our own opinions.

  2. I'm most proud of my very first dragon. She's a pebble dorkface, but inbred a little bit.

The reason I'm most proud of her, is for an entire year she refused every mate I bred her with, then on my 1 anniversary Sept 8 this year, I bred her and she accepted. Seems like she was just waiting for her birthday to come up lol.

  3. I'm so excited for biomes especially!

I would never rename any of my babies, no matter how crappy their names are. I'm just so used to them.

Does anyone know when the BSA's will be released?

I have several to rename, because I named them before they gendered and too, I have several that I forgot to add dorkface or thuwed.

I also want to put codes after the names of the ones that are inbred, so I know not to breed them.

  4. Hmmmm, according to the Timeline, they'll be activated either tomorrow or sunday... can't wait for scroll pages, I want to sort a family page and then a "one of each" page, along with my project pages (inbred nebulais and vampire)

TJ said on the front page, that the time line was Dec 10-12, that makes it today thru Sunday.

I want the renaming, as I've messed up on several names, because of gender

  5. Yay for upcoming changes! biggrin.gif

Y'know, this is everyone's last chance to create vampires without having their bite lineages show. I bet vamps with "short" lineages will come into fashion once the change sets in, hm?

I managed to get one vamp egg, but killed two others, so stopped, don't want too many dead eggs on my scroll

  6. Mmm, yeah, pretty much sums up why I'm reeeally looking forward to Teleport.

I've been trying for a year to breed a gold egg for a friend of mine, who has none. Finally got the first one about a week ago. Set up a time to trade it with her... someone else got it first. Posted in LiT, and the person was kind enough to return it! As my friend wasn't able to be on for a couple days, I set up the trade... and missed it. :/

Really looking forward to being able to give stuff away without losing it more often than not.

Plus! I hate setting up times to chat with people to arrange a trade. IRC doesn't work for me about half the time, and slows my internet speed waaay down, but I don't know of any other free place to create temp chat rooms. Being able to trade without messing with that? Oh yes.

I can't trade thru the chats, I prefer to use Yahoo Messanger. I lose fewer eggs with it.

  7. It just hit me, belatedly, that once Teleport is in permanently in use the LIT thread can finally go away. I always felt bad for players who'd lost their eggs and hatchies (I did lose quite a few myself) but would privately also wince a bit knowing the majority would never be returned since a fair catch on the ap was a fair catch by rules of the game and your chances of having say, a metallic, returned were probably less than 2%. It was kind of depressing really. Thank you for Teleport TJ!! smile.gif

I lost an egg that I'd won from eggy give away the other day, because the person only used Chatz to transfer and I couldn't see his count down, so quit refreshing before he'd said "gone".

So I'll be glad when the transport comes into effect too.

  8. I had a very nice person grab 2 Halloween eggs for me. I only have 1 pink and it's male. Most of the eggs I have gotten in the last several months turn out to mostly be males. My one 2009 Halloween is male also, so am hopping for one male and one female this year.

I'm glad TJ put out six Halloween eggs for the last few hours. I didn't try for any more than the two that had been caught for me, because I felt that others should get the chance to get at least one.

I did manage to get 84 of the 94 ToT's in about 24 hours. I was catching those up until the last minute.

  9. I've still not caught any eggs. I'm having no problems with the ToT's though.

But I click on an egg and get the message waiting, waiting, and it never goes away. I've cleaned my cache, run CCleaner, run spot and deleted a ton of stuff I'm not using any more and still ever thing is slow. I also have the fastest internet AT&T has.

I can't find anybody to catch for me either.

  10. They do hide it well.

    To turn off Images:

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > scroll to Multimedia > uncheck Show Pictures checkbox

    To turn off Javascript:

Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet > Custom Level > scroll to Scripting > select Disable

I got these from the first two results when I Googled: turn off images javascript ie7

Just saying. Search engines are useful that way.

how do you turn all of that off in firefox

  11. AAAHHHH!

    I caught one.

(i real did go ah! when i got one :3)

LISTEN UP PEEPS! TAKE OFF "LOAD IMAGES AUTOMATICALLY" AND "ENABLE JAVASCRYPT" IT HELPS!! smile.gif

I don't know how to take off "load images automatically" or how to "enable javascript"

  12. If you guys are this peeved by the lag, you should donate. Ad revenue only covers enough to keep the site running smoothly under normal conditions (I guess, because the site does run smoothly under normal conditions). Right now, the site is practically being dos'd, and it (apparently) hasn't got the resources to stand up to it. More money means more resources, which means a site that can stand up to 600 people refreshing it like mad at once.

Well if I had the money, I would donate, but I live on less than $600 a month, so there's no way I can donate.

  13. I do think the warm heavy ones are harder to get. I got two of the really hot ones and saw a lot more of them than the others.

I am locked now, so the warm ones will have to wait.

It took a while, but I finally got a hot one. It seems here are 2 hot ones for every heavy one.

The lag is so bad, I can't do much at all.

  14. I'm glad there aren't 10 new ones, I've been trying for three or four days to catch eggs, in the cave, and I'll click on an egg an it just sits there and says waiting for DC, I"ve

been in the cave trying for almost ten minutes and even refreshed and it's not moving

  15. Hello

As you know, there is a "Kill" option in every egg/hatchling/adult's actions. I am aware that it might be necessary to use if your scroll is locked and you need to trade/get an egg. However, if you kill a hatchling for that reason, couldn't you have just frozen it and kept it? Eggs you can abandon, if you want to. So why have the kill option? Some people actually kill rares for FUN.

Now, about bred eggs/hatchlings: If it has been bred by two dragons on your scroll and you kill it, how would that make the parents feel? Like you killing a newborn baby? This is why I am posting this: I am one of many who are against killing dragons. If you are too, recite the oath:

"I, [username here], resolve from killing dragons

Only in desperation will I kill them

so that the dragon population will grow"

NOTE: Due to complaints, If you have killed eggs/hatchlings for Zombies, Vampires and/or Neglecteds, as long as you do not have more than 5 deaths as a result of trying to get one, you can still sign.

NOTE: You don't have to join if you don't want to, not my problem that a few people think it is FORCING them to join

I do not kill or freeze anything for any reason.

I have accidently let a couple die, because I forgot to put them on the

fansites, but lately have been watching very close so I don't do it again.

  16. I pretty sure that, for the most part, dragons are supposed to be 50/50 Male/Female. But does anyone have a noticeably higher number of one gender than of the other?

Admitted, I'm pretty new, so I only have 7 gendered dragons-- 6 of which are male.

I understand how probability works, and that 6 males and 1 female are just as likely as 4 females and 3 males, but does anyone else out there have a noticeably higher number of one gender?

(doesn't count if you breed chickens or something else gender specific tongue.gif)

I have noticed for a couple of months now I'm getting more males than females. Even using a pink to influence hasn't helped.

It's pretty bad when you want to breed like dragons.
