  1. So - now that TJ's first Aether has grown up, I can talk. I'm the conceptor. Never did a sprite, but I did most of the lore - got a lot of help with grammar though, shout-outs to Whirlaway, and Krazy for thst. I lost my copy of the lore on these guys due to IRL, sadly, but here's what I recall. - they are carnivores - territorial tendencies - they stay in the mountains most of the time - they're actually decent at getting around on the ground, that's why their wings were designed after vampire bat wings - the fur is to keep them warm in the cold environment they're native to and in the sky - their blue and white colouring is a camouflauge - harder to see in the sky - yes, they do use their wind magic to attack - they like to stun prey that way Unfortunately, the rest of the info I had is going to have to wait for whenever their encyclopaedia information is added and updated with the descriptions. And about the name: So, the aether. It was the Greek concept of the upper atmosphere. The highest reaches of tge sky. I knew when I came up with the idea of these guys that they were gonna be strongly tied to wind and air magic - tge first egg description was along the lines of"this egg shines with air mana!" I passed over Aeolus/Aiolos as aname because it was a bit too specific in mythological connection, but I loved how the aether was the highest reaches of the sky in mythology. And considering these guys were very sky-associated and lived high on mountains, I felt like it was fitting to go with the aether, the highest sky for their name. 2. I can't find anything specifically pertaining to that, so I think it'd be okay if you ask people to PM you teleports with their offers. I'd still check the thread rules of the thread you're trying to post your trade in.
  3. Yeah, you can still offer on trades and be accepted. You only need teleport to initially create the trades.
  4. I usually see TJ's eggs spawned in with their timers at like 3d12h or thereabouts at the start of a release. Also, the hatchies will age up when they hit 4d as usual.
  5. This so much. I know I wish I wasn't born a fair bit... and I was *supposed* to be wanted.
  6. [VS White Kyurem - Round 4] The barrage of attacks sent White Kyurem reeling. Bowser growled as he got up, a bit of blood trickling from one nostril. He ignored the bleeding, turning back to the marauding ice-fire dragon. Unfortunately for him, his lunge missed and he felt something both burning hot and freezing cold grab his tail, causing him to hiss a bit and grimace. Bowser tried to jerk forward, but he felt himself being... lifted? And then he was being swung through the air. Bowser was almost reminded of Mario that one time. His brow furrowed, before relaxing, and his eyes widened as the painful hot-cold grasp disappeared - and he was flying. He didn't scream or roar, nor could he react beyond clamping his muzzle shut as the ground and a blue creature rushed towards him. And then he hit the ground plastron-first, and something squishy. A shock of pain - a dull ache - he couldn't focus, his eyes blanking. The hit had stunned him, and he lay there.
  7. Interesting thing is, if my mother had not gotten an abortion I'd not be here. My mother became sick with blood poisoning late in a wanted pregnancy years before I was born, and *would* have died if abortion was illegal. They had to remove the fetuses so she could live - and considering this occurred years before I was born.... So yeah, I will state I think abortions need to be legal in cases where carrying would kill the mother, as well as in all other cases. Savita Halappanavar's death is the exact kibd of situation I'm talking about for carrying can kill the motger - as are the other people refused lifesaving medical treatment because their fetus would die.
  8. Not going to lie, my mother would have been dead long before I was dreamed of if she had not gotten a late term abortion years before I was born. It was a wanted pregnancy but she got blood poisoning. Edit: also agreeing with Fuzz and Star - I have seen a lot of adoption and foster care horror stories.
  9. Name: Bowser Koopa Origin: Marioverse - Mario & Luigi timeline plus SMRPG Legend of the Seven Stars and Mario Kart series/various Mario sporting series. Also attended Smash Bros. tourneys. Info: A dragon-turtle King of the Koopas. Overly cocky, confident, aggressive, and snarky. Bowser is a menace to his enemies and harsh with even his allies, though he loves his family, and he does care about his allies. He's known for kidnapping Princess Peach, who he has a major crush on. His rivalry with the Mario Brothers can send him into fits of rage and unreasonable thought when facing Mario. Abilities: - Fire breath - can produce fireballs and streams of flame; in addition, can produce blue fireballs that homes in on opponents - Physically strong - will punch and pin opponents, has a nasty bite - Draconic claws and spiked tail - Sturdy shell - can retreat into shell and be propelled by an ally or attempt to counter an attack by retreating into his shell when injured, but the shell weighs him down - Whirling Fortress (SSB ability)-: may retreat into shell and spin so fast he lifts off for a few seconds - can ground-pound oppents if he finds himself in the air - Near-Immortal: *very* hard to kill - can survive almost anything long enough to be healed, has survived situations that'd end anyone else, pretty much only killing spells could end his game. Only applies to killing him - he can be defeated as easily as anyone else Link to wiki: https://www.mariowiki.com/Bowser Extra: Here we go. I'll be swapping between Bowser and Aeolus between mission rounds.
  10. [VS White Kyurem: Round 3 - Let Wave 2 Begin] White Kyurem screamed in pain. The icy dragon was knocked back, and snarled at the elven knight. Bowser pressed the advantage with a fist to the dragon's face, creating hairline cracks in Kyurem's facial ice. He was about to attempt something else when a claw lashed out to throw him off balance. As Bowser spun away from them, White Kyurem caught sight of a group forming. A group? Better not let them team up. Kyurem's body became shrouded in icy mist, before something sped up the process. Lines of icy flame formed around Kyurem, who launched a missile of ice with a strange inner fire. A missile of both ice and fire. The icy attack was aimed at the forming group.
  11. [VS White Kyurem: Round 2] The succession of attacks from the elven knight wounded White Kyurem, who reeled back and was caught off-guard by blades of light belonging toca lupine-armoured humanoid. The pale grey was bady damaged by this attack, bleeding clear blood with bits of hlowing white magic in it. White Kyurem's senses were still stunned when Bowser went in the attack, hitting hard with a tail strike. Unfortunately, it snapped Kyurem out of the stun. The ice-fire dragon roared, summoning the power of the earth to cause flames to shoot from the ground and energy to ripple through the earth nearby. Bowser roared in pain at the earthly energy's impact.
  12. Anyone mind if I talk probability? I'm going to use a genetics example because the numbers are smaller, BUT the principle applies in other places. Let's take the chance of inheriting a certain gene, 1/2. Now, let's say someone has 4 children. The chances of each inheriting the gene is ALWAYS 1/2. However, the chance that one of the 4 will not can be calculated like so: 1/2*1/2*1/2*1/2, which comes out to 1/16. Notice that each INDIVIDUAL event has the same probability and is NOT influenced by any prior event - which is likely how the raffle RNG works since it's a RNG! Yes, with more repeats the total probability appears to go up/down depending on what you're talking about l. EG: if 5 children, chance of one not getting the gene is 1/32. That's because you have more individual events, more INDEPENDENT chances with the same probability, and with more events there's more chances to get a result in the sense of each event is a chance. Considering the raffle is random, I believe it's safe to say these principles apply. So therefore, more months entered = more raffles you could win, but each individual result is NOT affected by prior results. So therefore yes - it's very unlikely to win. (I'm of the camp that winning by RNG isn't special personally - someone who won just got lucky.)
  13. I never want a child. I'll try to get rid of a pregnancy if I get raped. Why? I'm treated... pretty badly emotionally. I'm nothing but the r-word to a lotta people I run into IRL. And as a result, I've lost the ability to really *care* about a dependent. My family a dog who begs for food. I kick him away out of habit. I get rages. I could easily become just as much of a monster to a child, even my own flesh and blood. I can't get myself to care about "cute" creatures. After all, my own flesh and blood believes it's okay to scream at me even beyond when I panic and scream because I instinctually raise my voixe because they're loud, physically corner me, physically drag me around, urge me to just end it. And my parents act so nice, no one would believe the r-word *****. Yes, I'm disabled and prickly. (And yes - I was wanted but came out deaf with dying eyes.)
  14. [Bowser VS White Kyurem: Round 1] Bowser growled when he saw the fusion. His fists balled. This reminded him way too much of that damned Dark Star. The thing had burned his insides while extracting his DNA and then turned into a twisted him. It wasn't right. And now this dragon... thing... was doing something really similar? This was not on. Bowser narrowed his eyes, raised a fist, and lunged - - and was promptly met by a painful blast of dark blue energy. "Ow! Crud...." The force of the attack kmocked Bowser to the ground, stunning him for a few moments. White Kyurem snarled and advanced, but Bowser pushed himself back up. Thank his draconic durability. So maybe running into this one wasn't his brightest idea. The draconic Koopa huffed. "If you think you're beating me that easy... well, think again, chump!" He took advantage of White Kyurem's advance to bite down on his opponent. Hard. Utterly alien clear blood, shot through with magic, trickled from the wound. The yelp of pain told Bowser he'd cut off the icy attack charging in the thing's mouth. White Kyurem responded with scratching at Bowset, who refused to let go until the colder dragon bit his collar and pulled on it before the Koopa King managed to get free. Bowser retreated hastily as Kyurem's head glowed in a steely way.
  15. Aeolus nods. "I think a healing item would be useful." He concentrates, telekinetically depositing the Dream Mist into the bottle and readying to the the mushroom ===== Aeolus walked away with his purchase, continuing to explore, before he was hit with a Quick Attack. A flash of blue and black zipped past, and Aeolus realised he was missing the mushroom. He began to chase after the thief, who was using Quick Attack to flee. Aeolus tried to grab them with Psychic, but it had no effect. Oh. Oh.... Aeolus tried again, but realised he hadn't missed. The thief was Dark-type. Immune to his attacks... except Yawn. And Yawn he did, using his gift of foresight to predict where the thief would be when he fired. The hit slowed them, revealing a Shiny Umbreon with the 1-Up Deluxe. A minute oassed. The Umbreon fell asleep. Aeolus recovered the mushroom with his telekinesis, and bit down on the Umbreon's scruff, intending to get them away from the main paths. He saw what looked like a police officer, and approached the half-dragon in looks woman in black. The Umbreon had tried to steal from him.... "What's that you have there?" she asked, eyes narrowed. "He grabbed a mushroom I was holding...." Aeolus responded. The woman blinked, and took another look. She growled softly, prodding the unconscious Umbreon. "Well. So this is the Umbreon that's been stealing people's things? We haven't managed to get 'im before now. What'd you do, put him to sleep?" Aeolus nodded, and the woman snorted. "I should take this little rat to the jail." She picked up the still-dozing Shiny Umbreon and left. Aeolus returned to his explorations. At one point, a telepathic voice got his attention. A layered one. A Kyurem's voice... he knew it from the Dream World. Kyurem were bad news. He'd heard of them freezing people alive and freezing half of an Unova on one occasion, freezing smaller but still significant chunks of the involved Unova more often. This was bad. Very bad. This one had either a Reshiram or Zekrom, meaning thry were a demigod in their own right. Aeolus bolted, hoping to return to the XDRS base or at least get off the bazaar.
  16. The man began to gesture with his arms. Aeolus let out a low hiss of confusion. The man turned, before gesturing for Aeolus to follow. He did so, wondering if there would be answers. Compensation for... his Dream Mist? That had to be an interesting request. Most people didn't go looking for the stuff. Then again, he wasn't at home... home. He quietly summoned some Dream Mist, but held onto it with his psychic power as he looked for the speaker's reaction.
  17. Reshiram was running. The cold grew as Kyurem gave chase. Luckily, Reshiram’s size meant plenty of people were stepping out of the way to avoid being trampled as the dragons ran by, Kyurem slowly forcing Reshiram to loop around. Reshiram dodged away from the stalls - and incidentally, back towards the group they had run from. By now, Kyurem was hot on their heels, barely inches behind. Now they started to recognise the area. The axe was down, and the sword as well - Kyurem racing behind - - the sound of cracking. Reshiram stole a glance back and growled. The ice on Kyurem’s wings had cracked loose, revealing the grey, unearthly cores that were now twisted to make the spikes face Reshiram. Purple energy was gathering. Reshiram’s heart pulsated, and their turbine tail roared to life. A great flap - and purple rays oh so narrowly missed. Reshiram could feel the .. the absorption, for lack of a better word. Reshiram wheeled into the air as Kyurem moved forward a bit before coming to a halt. Now, Kyurem pointed their wings skyward. Firing bursts of purple rays at Reshiram. A minute - or two? - later, there was a pealing scream of pain. Reshiram's wing was so, so utterly cold it almost burned. A ray had hit it, and they were losing control fast. Another burst of rays wrapped around them, causing them to struggle and scream more at the intense pain of the cold, the burning cold, and the sucking that drained away their power. As the purple rays were withdrawn toward Kyurem, Reshiram’s struggles grew weaker and jerkier, pupils constricting to a disturbingly small size. Pain tore through their body, and they could barely hold themself up. A final wave of pain shot through their body, and they jerked before stilling. Their scream cut off in that instant. A white light surrounded the limp wyvern, shrinking them into a stone with three indentations. The purple rays followed the shrinking. The rays then drew the stone closer to the grey dragon, before melting into it. The stone took on a purple tint as it warped and lengthened, before tearing apart into oh so much pure magic. The wing-spikes were pointed toward the magic. They sucked it in. A ball of fire in the icy “plug” of Kyurem’s tail. Growing bigger and bigger. Fire rose from the earth, fire created a dome. A dome that engulfed the grey dragon. … ….. ……….. A roar, a mighty cry. The fire was torn away, gusts of unnatural wind revealing a dragon. They are white and pale, pale grey. They have ice on them. They look asymmetrical. A yellow spike atop their head. Their eyes slowly open. Yellow sclerae and white irises. A twisted mockery of Reshiram, oddly fused with the grey dragon in looks. They blinked. Took a breath. And cables flew out from their shoulders, the once-clear spikes once on Kyurem’s wings going orange with blazing power and become the head of cables of magic. Four cables. Four sockets in the tail. Fire welled forth from the tail, half-turbine and half-fur. Fire coloured part of the feathered wing and furry mane orange, while the icy parts stayed inert. Cold. Ice and flame. And White Kyurem’s eyes wandered over the group. They shifted their stance, raising their wings to their chest. I will be free. I will… I will be whole.
  18. The axe mimic was hit by a glowing green blade, damaging it. It twisted around, allowing Natsuki the opportunity to grab the axe. The axe’s new cargo slowed it, though it could still drag the demihuman somewhat. Something blue flashed by, barely missing, and a gadget hit the axe hard. It pulled, lashing out at the demon-elf with a slash combined with a bite as a Light attack from the dark Skydancer missed. The demon-elf the axe had hit yelped, before snarling at the bite. A flash of green bladed weapon, and the axe had pulled back. The Skydancer merchant promptly struck the axe with a blast of light. A blue hedgehog rolled himself into a ball, and slammed into the axe as it reeled. However, the twin-tailed fox’s attack failed. Instead of the bomb attacking the axe, it blew up in his face. The axe seized its chance and slashed at the fox and elf. The fox managed to move such that the hit on him wasn't too major, but the elf-demon took a decent gash from the flying axe. A retaliatory slash nicked the axe, and a blue blur missed again. The Skydancer lashed out with a claw of light, but missed. However, his momentum meant the axe’s attack on its merchant promptly missed. It was vulnerable, struggling to regain control. However, the missed attack had also dislodged the demihuman holding on, and a wild swing grazed them as the axe struggled to recover. Two attacks hit at once - a pair of green blades nearly damaging the axe’s eye as scores were left across its body, and a body-slam from the blue hedgehog that just didn't do much. A tail attack from the two-tailed fox followed moments later, smacking the axe into the ground. The Skydancer hit the axe with more light magic. The axe slashed at the elf-demon, leaving another likely-painful gash. The blue hedgehog attacked, again, missing and narrowly avoiding a slash of green warglaives that had also missed the axe. That was when a bomb - another one of the fox’s bombs - attached itself to the axe. Beep. Beep. And it exploded. The axe fell to the ground, severely damaged. Kuraihi went to pick it up. The turtle-dragon came out of his shell, hearing the fight end. - Unbeknownst to them all, the icy grey dragon had recovered - and was now pursuing the white one. But now the axe was down….
  19. Reshiram hadn't been expecting Xander to be so... permissive of their touch. They tried to curl their fingers, squeezing tighter thsn they had intended. As swiftly as they could, they loosened their grip again. The cold still had them on high alert. Xander guided them toward a stall where more unfamiliar creatures were talking. All looked at least somewhat humanoid. They avoided the creatures' eyes, loki g down at the food they occasionally nibbled bits off of. A sword was pointed out... and moments later it started shuddering. Reshiram tensed. Seconds later, it rose up. Reshiram yelped and scrambled back, unsettled by the sight - and stepping on a cloth from a nearby stall. The cloth came loose from what it was covering as Reshiram scuttled back. The cloth unwrapped, an axe clattered to the ground - and promptly rose up. Reshiram ran now, fingers fumbling the skewer before inadvertently shifting and stumbling. They soon regained their balance as the axe began to fly around, narrowly missing a dragon-turtle who only avoided decollation by withdrawing into his shell, a green dino with a red saddle, a small, blonde moustachioed man weith a winged helmet, and several others. The draconic merchant who'd been selling the axe chanted something before lunging at the living weapon, casting a burst of light magic. Reshiram bolted, while the icy grey dragon who'd been following them stared at the axe, featureless yellow eyes so focused they didn't blink. The grey dragon slowly cocked their head.
  20. (Aeolus) Aeolus heard snatches of conversations as he continued, before a whoop caught his attention. He turned to behold a moustachioed man wearing a red cap and shirt with blue overalls and brown boots. Tye man wabved yo gim. Aha. So this man was trying to get jhs attention? He approached a bit, ears pricked. (Reshiram) Xander handed something to the humanawnd the creature, before he turned to them, now handing over skewered Oran Berries that looked like someone had cooked them. After he turned away, Reshiram sniffed at the Berries. They didn't smell poisoned, and Reshiram took a wary nibble. Their sharp teeth tore off small bits of the Berry, which seemed to have several flavours mixed into one. They didn't eat much, though - they warily glanced around. Strangers and this cold. Xander seemed to be looking at tgem asgain, asking them if they were were well. They whimpered - this cold... was it Kyurem...? Kyurem meant nothing good. The next question Xander asked made Reshiram freeze for a bit. He was... letting them touch him? Not forcing them to or pushing them away? They reached out, but seemed hesitant.
  21. (Reshiram) As Reshiram followed the prince, they kept their distance from that... creature. The creature didn't look like anything Reshiram knew. That unnerved them, and they'd resolved to keep away from them. The bustle of the bazaar nade them uneasy. They tried to fade into the crowd as best as they could, keeping as close as they could to Xander while giving the creature a wide berth. Eventually, Xander stopped in front if a sign Reshiram couldn't read. He started talking to whatever it was that was running the shop. A cold wind drifted through the air, catching their attention. A flash of grey when they looked back. They hissed and tensed, inching closer to Xander. He was saying something and indicating a board they again couldn't read - written in the same strange language, but they didn't catch it as they looked back over again. Was it...? Them...? (Kyurem) A flash of power. A familiar fire that had been torn away so long ago. Kyurem raised their head, ice magic creeping from the wounds mostly filled in by ice and from their mouth. A white human. One radiating a power far too familiar. They slunk closer. And the power brew stronger. The human. Kyurem began to follow. Reshiram... the shard of their heart... perhaps there would be respite from millennia of pain. Perhaps. Reshiram spotted them at one point, and they hid. When Reshiram turned away though, Kyurem returned to following, ice magic leaking faster. It was so close. So close. Respite. Freedom. Perhaps even they could become whole again. For now, as Reshiram stopped, they too stopped gor a moment, begore edging closer, trying to make sure the humans and creatures near Reshiram didn't twke notice in a way that would allow Reshiram to get away. They were so close.
  22. (Aeolus)--- The Espeon looked around, ears pricked. His whiskers twitched slightly, To anyone looking, his eyes would he a bit wide as be took on all the sights around him. So this was another world... a very different one. It seemed his curiosity eould pay off yet. He readied himself in case someone wanted to fight, before looking at the others who'd been with him on the platform. All seemed preoccupied, and the pink feline slipped away. He wove through the crowds, taking in the sights of the bazaar. So many different creatures! A lupine creature with silver fur that seemed to have white markings to it and yellow-green eyes passed by him at one point, and above him something that looked like a Noctowl with lighter colours and heart-shaped face with no horns flew by. Humans in many different kinds of clothing milled about, as did various creatures tgat looked like hybrids of Pokémon or Pokémon and humans. There were even some creatures he simply couldn't put a familiar description too. They bartered with all kinds of items, from the familiar to things that looked like they were from a particularly wild dream. He continued to wander, hearing snatches of strnge conversation amongst the roar of voices. Occasionally, the sounds were punctured by the noise of something falling, causing Aeolus to jump and scuttle away a bit from the direction of the falling object-sound.
  23. To expand on rp people using colour, as one of them: we use colours to denote different characters' text, or sometimes on the separation of different characters on one post. As a general rule, we don't colour the whole thing as that's kind of a pain to read. But yeah, I'd save the colour in other sections for mod posts/project thread posts where they're highlighting important info. And this forum is about posting text, not reacts. Real time stuff has more use for reacts than a forum has use for such, where they're only to give tone to a post.
  24. Please, no. The forum is already hard enough to read. Why make people's posts HARDER to read with less effort?? I find it hard to read posts wholly coloured some colour other thwn black on this background. People with vision loss use the internet too - I'm one of them. ETA: Also very much with Confused Cat here.
  25. I do use tablet, so that could be it. Still very annouing, as I like to have my keyboard and screen visible without changing where I'm looking too much. But yeah - whenever I try, I can pick a colour hexcode but the text won't change colour.
