    Abortion

There is significant evidence that abortions do NOT increase the chance of getting breast cancer.
  2. Both. I had a feeling Mad-Eye would, but I wasn't expecting the others to, no. Gryffindor probably. He DID stay on permanently. Typical teen romance. As cliche` as it is, yes, I'd have loved them to. No. :/ Its a tie between Quirrel, Umbridge and Lockheart. Not in the slightest. No, I was sad though. No. Who wouldn't want to? Absolutely fail. Bad. They would've never worked out. Fiendfyre Curse. Herbology. Too many to count. I wouldn't put myself in that position in the first place, but say I was, then no.

I think in the arguement of emotional pleas... it's very hard to not take into account in a debate. However, emotional pleas without any facts behind them (and by facts, scientific sources) is an arguement that is not very good. Even people who argue properly against Euthanasia, for instance, will cite how it could be abused using the current laws instead of simply saying "but I don't agree with it because -insert emotional, moral or religious based response here". Therefore, I see what Sammyjean is trying to say in regards to pure emotion and religious based arguements being used to dictate their and other womans rights. There is a large difference between using an arguement that is full of emotion and no practical evidence versus an arguement that cites sources to back it up, and I think the majority of you who debate here often ought to know that.
  4. Hmm... you make a very intruging case Fuzz.
  5. I think artistic nudity should be allowed. There's a difference between it and porn. As for the illegal activities, the rules say accounts of illegal activities. If I'm reading correctly, it sounds like what is banned is people discussing, for example, their experiences in taking illicit drugs. There is a difference between personal accounts and debating the subject in question.

    Naruto

Must revive this. Latest chapter of Naruto made me squee over it more than I have for Naruto in YEARS. Nine Tails is such a Tsundere.

Mine too @wolvenlied - I sent an e-mail to my local parliment member, who e-mailed me back with thanks. You can do plenty outside of the US too
  11. I've noticed that the rules update thread in GD is now gone. There's been no action on any grounds and frankly I have no idea what's going on. Whatever happened to that mod meeting in December? :/ Whatever happened to revising the new rules, which a majority of users disagreed with that are STILL in place in the general rules thread? I am very dissapointed.
  12. 22,058. Guess that makes me a senior.
  13. I couldn't pick a favourite, there's so many I've watched.
  14. According to the poster I was addressing, of the 39 dimorphed sprites, 10 were considered demure. Therefore, looks like being demure is the minority.
  15. You can't expect EVERY breed to have females that are going to say "RAAAAAAAAAWRRRRHHH" at everything, though. That'd just be boring. :/
  16. Something to consider in regards to human vs animal medications.. Read the packages. My cat has been sick once in the time I've had her. I took her to the vet and had a look at the medication he gave me, and saw that it was the same chemical used in an anti-biotic that I, a human, have used before. The dosage was just different. I realise that this does not apply to all medicines given out, however I think it's important to remember that vets and such are out to make money as well as heal. They're a business in of itself. Of course they're not going to say "oh, you can substitute this medicine for this" because then they'll loose money. Only a true vet would reccomend something that goes beyond their own practise. I will stress that this doesn't always apply to vets, but I just wanted to put this out there as food for thought.

    Abortion

Lets assume that of the 7 billion people on earth, 4 billion are female. Of those 4 billion, 2 billion are sexually active and of childbearing age. And lets again assume that they all have access to birth control, and about 1 billion all know how to use it safely, and do so. That one percent becomes one MILLION woman. What happens then? True, but did you know there is still a chance of getting pregnant from a sterilised male, however remote? What happens then?

    Abortion

So married couples, who make up 1/4 of woman who have abortions, should abstain from having sex until they're ready to have children? And what of woman who do not want children ever, but cannot be sterilised because they do not meet the requirements (being over 35 and having 2 children already) ?

If we had of attacked you, a moderator would have come in here and told us off. Since that hasn't happened, and as I saw several mods lurking when discussion has taken place since you entered the thread, I therefore believe no one has attacked you. Just because multiple people address your points does not mean we are attacking you. Just because we disagree with your points does not mean we're attacking you.
  20. Yulebucks. I actually joined before the release of the Vampires on the site itself, but missed them. :x

You think so? Their job is to provide health care to woman. Very little of that is abortions. Frankly I have to wonder what agenda you think pro-choice people are pushing aside from protecting the rights to their own bodies. Also, there's a reason why we call pro-life people pro-birth instead. Because all they seem to care about is whether or not the baby is born, not what happens next.
