  1. Why do we call icing "icing" if it's thinner than frosting? Icing should be thicker because ice is thicker, frosting is merely a thin coat. I suppose both are just layers of delicious sugar and butter and it doesn't matter, but this is really getting to me.
  2. STOP BEING THAT GOOD I love your art style so muchhhhhhhh
  3. If it's not too much trouble, I'd just love to hear more about all of these books!
  4. I didn't either, though most people did. I read it on my own to see what all the hype was about, then at school, but it never really caught on with me. It's not especially bad, but not all too good either. A lot of people dislike dystopia books, because the idea is "overused", but for me, it somehow never gets old. And to everybody else, I'll have to look into those books!
  5. went outside once, saw a bug. never again.
  6. Well Txngo, that would be like me saying "you're not gay if you're attracted to the same gender. Gay means happy. Your attraction to the same gender is a choice." Just because you are not familiar with the term asexual being used in this context does not mean it doesn't exist. There is a scientific term referring to certain animal reproduction methods, but that is not the only meaning of the term.
  7. ooo, i'll have to check those books out. thanks!
  8. a small pack of pringles, a cupcake, a clementine, and a juice box needless to say, I can't wait til dinner!
  9. You can actually have as many eggs as you want, you just can't count higher than four Why do I need clicks?
  10. Do you like wearing dresses? Why/Why not? Um...no...it's hard for me to explain Do you have lots of dresses? Do you wish you had more? A lot from when I was younger, but, no, I'm not looking into collecting any more. How do you feel about playsuits compared to dresses? If ur comfortable in playsuits, do it. I don't have any particular feeling towards either clothing article. What length of dress do you like? Mini? Midi? Floor length? Again, I don't care. What do you like/dislike about dresses? I just prefer my flannel shirts and a pair of old jeans. Want to share a photo of your favourite dress? No. I honestly thought this thread was going to be about the dress
  11. Aye! Nice thread! I am Cola. he/them, anything else needed can be found by taking a look at my avatar. c:
  12. I'm a little bored, and wish to write. My writing isn't all too great, but if you give me a topic and some background information, and I'll write you a short story. Note: I can do shipping stories, but I'm unfamiliar with most ships, and may inaccurately portray characters. I am also willing to do stories on OCs if given enough information. Please keep topics appropriate.
  13. We've all read a book on a utopia/dystopia, whether it be for school or on our own. Though the plot is usually the same, (government attempts to create perfect society to "protect the people", the main character, perhaps with the help of others, revolts) the concept is quite interesting. I've read some of the more popular utopian books, suck as Hunger Games and The Giver, but there are a few lesser known books that I also enjoyed, such as All Good Children and Slated. Do you guys have any good ones?
  14. A Corner of The Universe, my favorite book. Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, because I love Sirius. Um...there are many more that I can't think of. I don't have many books (I only have 30-40 at the moment) so I am constantly rereading books.

    Obscure good books

I love The House With a Clock in it's Walls so much. The first time I read it was when I was 11 years old, at around 2 o'clock in the morning. Something woke me up, and I couldn't get back to sleep, and my grandmother had recently brought me a bunch of books, because I love to read. I grabbed one, which ended up being THWACIIW. (what an abbreviation!) At first I was spooked, because I was reading in the dark house at 2 in the morning, I was 11, and the book did seem dark at first. However, I soon warmed up to the characters and the atmosphere. I haven't read the book in a while, but I've been meaning to reread it, as it was one of my favorites.

    The saddest books

I read all the time and I know that I've read plenty of sad books but the first that comes to mind is A Corner of the Universe by Ann M. Martin. It's about (MAYOR SPOILERS BELOW) (TRIGGER WARNING -DEATH/SUICIDE MENTIONED) A autistic man named Adam, the book written in the perspective of his potentially autistic (it is hinted that she has autism multiple times) 12 year old niece, Hattie. Adam is 21 when the story takes place in 1960, and his part of the story begins with him being introduced to Hattie after his "special school" is shut down. It is later revealed that the school was a mental institution, and that Adam had been kept in it for 10 years. The doctors were unsure as to whether he had autism or schizophrenia, but after some research that I did myself, I found out that during the time period that the story takes place, doctors often linked these two together, and that Adam's symptoms show that he has autism. Adam is forced to live with his parents, Hattie's Nana and Papa, for a short time as they search for another "school" to send him too. Nana and Papa do not appear to care for Adam, and treat him as if he is a child. Though Adam does have a bit of a childish attitude, he does have feelings towards how he is being treated, and shares these feelings with Hattie, telling her that he feels "alien" and that she is the only one who understands him. Throughout the novel, Adam is treated very poorly and ignored/mistreated by both family members and other people as well. This progresses to the point where Adam eventually takes his own life. Though there were a few bits of information that didn't fit, in my opinion, with the plot, the book was overall a very good one.
