  1. I'm actively reading three books right now.

The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley

I first read this years ago and loved it, so, in a fit of nostalgia, I decided to request a copy for Christmas to reread. I remember nothing substantial about it, so it's almost like reading it for the first time.

A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin

My first time reading this series. I'm more involved by now that I was when reading the first book, but I still have trouble keeping all of the mentioned characters straight.

    Drift by Rachel Maddow

I love Rachel Maddow and politics are neat.

  2. We've only had flurries here, and they didn't accumulate at all.

The weather here's been unusually warm, though. The day before we had those flurries the temperature was up in the 60s and I was sleeping with my window open. At the same time last year we were freezing our butts off.

  3. Cats >>> dogs, imo.

My family has several cats, but I only consider two of them mine - a tabby and a black and white tuxedo, both females (I'd post pics, but oh god so lazy rn).

I consider the tabby to be the more clever of the two, but the tuxedo managed to turn my Kindle on, purchase, and download The Autobiography of Mark Twain last night, so I suppose she's the most well-read. laugh.gif

  4. Read the entire series a few years ago. At first, I thought it was funny. Hilarious, really. But around the time Edward disabled Bella's truck to keep her from seeing Jacob (or maybe about the fourth time he called her stupid for being with him), it just became terrible. So terrible.

I don't feel that she really had a personality, if the author really even built it that well.

Bella is basically an author/reader insert. She's purposely bland so the reader can give her their own personality.

  5. Technically, I'm already grown up, but a few years ago I wanted to be a graphic designer. Then I took a photography class and something just clicked inside me and said, "This is what you should be doing. This right here." Now, I'd like to go into photography, maybe as a photojournalist or nature photographer.

  6. My room is a hot mess. There are clothes on the floor, my desk is unusable because of all the things on it, there is a box of odds and ends taking up potential bookcase space that needs to go into storage. I've been meaning to straighten it all up, but I get on Tumblr and the day flies by. dry.gif

  7. Sexism is wrong. Statistically, women make 77 cents to every dollar a man makes. we need to fix this and bring more equality.

It's actually lower for women of color. African American women only earn 62 cents per dollar, and Latinas only 53 cents for each dollar.

  8. I ran across one of those silly little online widgets a few years ago, where you type in your real name and get the 'definition.' The definition of my first name wound up being 'full of bees,' and I've been using it as an occasional user name since.

  9. I also have a phobia of getting pregnant, childbirth and pregnant women.

I'd forgotten about this one! But yeah, the whole pregnancy/childbirth thing just freaks me right out. I used to be fine with it, but the more I learn about pregnancy and the birthing process the less I ever want to actually get pregnant. It's like body horror to be now or something.

  10. I was hoping that it didn't have to come to this, but...

I need to file a complaint against my parents so I can get my things from their house. How do I do this? I can only submit it by email right now, so linking me a PDF to fill out and send to whoever would be greatly appreciated.

I'd try calling/contacting your local police and explaining the situation, if you haven't yet. They'll arrange for an officer to come with you to your parents' house to get your things. If they still refuse to let you in or co-operate, talk to the officer about what you can do next. You may have to press charges.

  11. I have an anxiety disorder, so the short list of my fears consists of pretty much everything (think Monk but without the OCD).

A longer list consists of heights, spiders, bees and wasps, dead things, vomit/vomiting, being alone at night, clowns and anxiety attacks themselves (luckily, I've learned to control those).
