Posted June 1, 2013 I have a couple of questions re: records...do "checkerboard lineages" with two breeds count as a record if they are of sufficient generations/length? Oh...and is there ANYTHING about records of Thuwed lines...or even dorkface lineages? Thanks, Rockin' On Share this post Link to post
Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) Yliah, thank you. It appears I didn't read down far enough. ETA: Category: DRAGON BREEDS Title of Record: Breeder with the Most Copper Dragons Name of Submitant(forumname): Fiona BlueFire Scroll Name (link): scroll Proof for Record: all my adults are at the top of my scroll just under eggs and hatchlings. Reason for submitting new Record: It didn't exist before, and it must! I doubt I'll be able to keep the record long, since I usually don't. But I wanted to at least get it started. Posted June 3, 2013 (edited) Hi there I have a question - For a purebred perfect nebula lineage, would the starting parents have to be blue and purple nebulas or would it be fine to have green and orange nebulas too? Also, what is the minimum generation to submit a purebred record? Thanks for your time Edited June 3, 2013 by Pippyspot Share this post Link to post
Posted June 3, 2013 (edited) I also have a comment...you guys behind the scenes(mods & such) do a GREAT job updating this thread, keeping it all together,etc...and there ARE some gorgeous PB lineages on your records(I hold two records myself, both for lineages )so I realize its just as difficult to breed PB lineages as say,a 2 breed one... But truthfully, the most outstanding lineages that Ive seen are NOT in DC records,as the people who bred them are not sure they will be welcomed if they submit a "non PB /perfect" lineage! When I got mine for the geode line "Million Dollar Baby" sooo many people wrote me asking how I managed...when all I could say was "stubbornness" & belief in its right to BE THERE"....it seemed I let them down.I was too busy trying to get MY hard won record, but I believe there should be a place for longest 2 breed (or whatever),stairstep, checkerboard, etc that are simply always there...and anything DIFFERENT can be looked at by those in charge & decided upon. But PB lineages dont seem all that exciting when we have the palette of breeds/colors to work with on forum! Rockin' On Edited June 4, 2013 by Rockin' On Share this post Link to post
Posted June 4, 2013 I would like to see the list expanded. I'm not sure how all this works for having different breeds in a lineage. I mean like what if you had a lineage based on colors or biomes or anything else that has a diffenet pattern to it. I mean I wouldnt give a record to someone just radomly breeding everything to the uptenth generation but what if someone had a different pattern and sequence to the lineage. I believe then after all the work someone puts into something like that it should be recognized. Just my thoughts Keny Share this post Link to post

Also, what is the minimum generation to submit a purebred record? Thanks for your time As long as the linage only contains nebulas, it will count as pure-bred no matter what the colour of nebulas. And regarding length for PB records - I'm not sure there's strictly a limit at the moment, but I'd be inclined to say 4th gen minimum. I belive the youngest DC record was actually submited by mothers who had their kids play Dc. And the last one (wich I spoke to) was the mother submitting her daughters date of birth. The full awarness thing was to prove, that that user knew hoe to raise a dragon, knew what stages the dragon had and when it got sick, how to care for it. Regardless of whether or not it was the child or the parent submitting it on the child's behalf, I don't think there should be any record's that require a user to disclose their date of birth, particularly when that user is a minor. And how does one prove that the user 'proving' they know how to raise a dragon etc., is not being given a helping hand by their parent? Whilst I'm not intending to suggest that the current record was obtained falsely, I think this record is far too open to abuse, as well as my original comment of feeling it's not being 'directly related to DC' (it's not a record about DC, it's a record about a player). Posted June 4, 2013 just my 2 cents... I like the idea of a 2 gen checkerboard for the record. I have some small checkerboards and while I could not produce a 2 only gen checkerboard. I would like to see what people have strived for and what has been accomplished. It would be no worse than the Thuew'd lines or dorkface lineages since you will never see a PB Thuew'd line a or dorkface. You can however see a checkerboad for them. There are many checkerboards out there and maybe not have a most checkerboard with gold and white record but the LARGEST 2 dragon checkerboard or 4 dragon (for the case of the breed only dragons) if we had a checkerboard for lets say a black and pink and one for each of the breeds that would just get to be crazy to maintain and look and check but for the longest checkerboard that would be something! Oh...and is there ANYTHING about records of Thuwed lines...or even dorkface lineages? This from Zaxian sums it up: Yes - I agree that any 'perfect' lineage is not strictly PB. But as these records are for a specific breed I think it's implicit that they're PB, e.g., a 'perfect albino lineage' consists only of albinos - and, as that definition says, is EG. And a new catagory was recently added which would include checkerboards: Longest Even-Generation lineage with a consistent pattern with more than two breeds: There is this Thuwed: Longest Perfect Thuwed and this: Dragon with Most DC Records: Shallyna'ar - 3 The most famous dragon: Midas Dorkface Dragon with the most descendants: Shallyna'ar - 326,006 Most Inbred Lineaged Dragon: Badw ev Adrhot Dorkface Thuwed and as long as I am here, I might as well join in with this statement regarding the "youngest player": Zaxian:... feeling it's not being 'directly related to DC' (it's not a record about DC, it's a record about a player). Posted June 6, 2013 So: "Whats our main focus now?" Adding more cattegories, or modifying the old ones to hold the new ones? Share this post Link to post
Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) I'd say adding new ones. We could have PB catagory and Mixed but with guidelines. Like I said in my previous post I wouldn't give a "record" to someone that just randomly breed 120 dragons together. But if someone was to have a specific pattern say, color, biome, or mutations. Just my thoughts. Keny Edited June 7, 2013 by Kenywi Share this post Link to post
Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Too many records equals nothing being special. When you have pure-bred and then you have 2-or-more-breeds you have pretty much said it all. Edited June 6, 2013 by grammydragon Share this post Link to post
Posted June 8, 2013 Well if we are talking about pure breds, then it should be just the "x breed" if we are talking with symmetrical lineages, then maybe yes. (Cause we have a most inbred symmetrical) Share this post Link to post

A lot of people only have 50 per page. Others, like me, have the full 500. Means, mine could be on page one at the bottom, while the others with 50 have them on page 10 or 11. When I post my record updates, I tell what page they are on and how many dragons per page I am using. Seems 250 is like the default setting I think, so that is prolly a good number per page to use. Posted June 14, 2013 My ideas re: "WHAT makes a record into a special unique thing" isnt just the same exact type of lineage....when I read 1st page of DC record thread, its very obvious that this was meant to "GROW/ADD different types of lineages" as Missing Record Quests: The Longest Lineage (most generations): ? The Longest Pureblood Lineage (most generations without inbreeding): ? The Largest Bloodline (most dragons from one couple): ? Scroll with the most [insert breed]: ? Of course, we're always looking for new DC Records, so if you think you have something special, don't hesitate and post it here right away! smile.gif Also If you have another category for us, please mention it biggrin.gif makes a point of saying ... So,all I think is that we can "adjust the borders" to allow 2 breed lineages in a 'allowable lineage" already used, but not only only have one breed PB's(I have one recorded, but its not exciting doing same PBs over & over to keep the allowed starting records only lineages usable in thread" !Just my thoughts on expansion of record holding, nothing dramatic, quite tame to allow 2 breeds to be allowed in lineages.
