Appearance: Upon one’s rapid glance at Breckin’s physique, one may simply write the boy off as “pathetic” in stature. Standing at only 5’5”, the aged gaze of his warm, amber eyes belie the childish image that he portrays. Breckin stands among his peers a boy who has seen the ugliness of the world, and wears that on his exterior. His sun kissed skin is marred with scars of beatings and scraps, a war weary soldier in a world where only the savage survive. The most prominent of these being a horrendously ugly scar that runs from the base of his shoulder down to his wrist. It is a mystery even to Breckin where such a thing came from.

 

His jagged blond hair dips down below the base of his chin, tapering off at ends of dark brown. It is not uncommon to see others lightly joking that Breckin’s time out in the sunlight has permanently bleached his hair blond.

 

Personality: The de facto leader of his group, Breckin is an incredibly street-wise and quick witted individual. His down-to-earth way of thinking often gets himself and others out of trouble, and it is he that many come to for the solution to their problems. He can be, however, quite blunt in his manner of speaking, often coming off as much more brash, or even egotistical.

Breckin is a very calm and patient boy, much more likely to look before he leaps. When angered however, it is as if there is a complete flop in personality, leaving Breckin to not stop until the target of his fury is as upset or miserable as he wants them to be.

 

As expected from one with his background, Breckin has little love for the wealthy, sometimes even insulting them outright. However kind he may seem, there is always a cold front that he puts up before him, thinly masking his outright hatred of the selfishness of modern society, and his distrust of people as a whole.

 

History: Breckin grew up homeless, the sole survivor of a tragic accident in his infancy. Found and raised by a kind man, it was he who started the brigade of sanctuary for helpless children who’d been kicked out, run away, or other unfortunate circumstances. It was a simple life, however brutal. He was taught to steal only what he needed to live, and to always keep his heart open to the even less fortunate. Naïve at first, he soon grew cold, his faith in the brutish people of the city around him diminishing each day.

Living in the streets did nothing but instill misanthropy.

He and the old man grew close. While other children usually came and went as they pleased, Breckin was the only one who tagged along with the man every day, knowing nothing but life on the streets. On the day he turned thirteen, the summer solstice, he found the old man brutally murdered, with nothing but claw marks that left him a mere scrap of what he was.

No one came to help him, and no one cared to. A man was lost to the world, but to Breckin, his world had been destroyed.

Distraught and filled with contempt, Breckin let his seething rage subside with the responsibility that he took upon himself to continue the renegade group. Slowly but surely children came to stay, all looking up to him as their leader. And he took that in stride, teaching them the same things he was taught.

 

Weaknesses:

1. Somewhat discreetly, Breckin is very susceptible to cold temperatures. It weakens him and leaves him feeling quite ill.

2. His blunt manner of speech can put him at odds with people, especially those with little patience.

3. Breckin has almost no upper body strength. He cannot lift very heavy things or get into fist fights.

4. His danger-loving attitude often gets him injured. He is usually seen bandaged up because of some stunt.

5. A general feeling of misanthropy can often cause him to distrust most people he isn’t familiar with, especially when he isn’t in charge.

 

Skills:

1. He is very good at stealing, though he only steals what he and the rest of the group need to survive.

2. Breckin is a natural born leader and can usually order and calm a group with relative ease.

3. He's a smooth talker and a very good liar, able to get himself and others out of tight situations very easily.

4. He is a skilled musician. He's never tried an instrument he couldn't learn and play.

5. Breckin's body is flexible and lithe. He is able to perform feats that rival the most skilled gymnastic.

 

Special Abilities: A descendant of the Mraaden Sur, Breckin can withstand the hottest temperatures, no matter how bad they are thrown at him. As his latent abilities awaken, he will gain control over eating flames to increase his strength. Though not nearly as potent, the blood of IncendiaPresul also grants him the ability to dance with and within the flames.

And while not particularly a special ability, Breckin has synesthesia. Specifically speaking, certain words, especially names, will cause him to feel a taste sensation. He claims that the better a person's character, the better their name will taste, and sometimes uses it to gauge his first impressions.

Yay, thanks for finding that post for me~ I think I'll post her profile here in the OoC thread. Then I can go in and make some little changes to that. Elaborate more on some aspects of Danni. I'll let you know what I change so you can correct any mistakes I might make.

Speaking of which, I really need to do some updating. I just realized Sen is still under Rhea, and a lot of other stuff. /facepalm

 

ETA: If you want to take a spot, take it now, 'cause I'm still debating whether or not I should drag a friend of mine into this.

Appearance: She keeps her hair cut at a short length that barely touches her shoulders with bangs that fall down just a bit past her eyebrows in a messy style. Recently, her hair has started to become lighter. She used to be a dirty blond, but now it's more of a creamy color. Her eyes have always been grey and seem to stare at people with a cold look to them. Many have commented that she has an elegant, yet stern-looking face. Some would also comment that she would look less stern if she would smile more often instead of glaring coldly at people. Her skin is very light in color.

Danni generally wears blue jeans along with a shirt appropriate to match the weather. During the summer, she wears tanks tops, mostly in hues of blue and black. In cooler temperatures, she wears T-shirts which are mainly blue or black with a few other colors. When it's winter, she wears long sleeve shirts with a pull-over hooded sweater on over it. All her sweaters are black.

She stands at five feet, five inches with shapely legs and curves, because she is quite skinny. This is thanks to her high metabolism and active life style. Unfortunately, it doesn't leave her much in the way of a chest or butt.

 

Personality: She is calm and quiet for the majority of the time, only speaking when it is needed. Danni doesn't see the use in pointless words, when all it does is waste breath and time. In class, she's the one sitting in the back, minding her own business. When someone tries to converse with her, they generally get short replies since she isn't much for conversation. It's not that she doesn't want to talk with others, it's just that she's not very talkative. If a very talkative girl sat down next to her, Danni would most likely just sit there and nod while the other girl chatted away. Most likely she'd also only be half listening. Of course, the talkative girls were generally the popular ones and she wasn't one of the popular kids. However, she didn't mind that the popular kids at her schools left her alone. It meant that drama would stay away from her. The other students also quickly learned not to mess with someone who had been taking a martial arts class since they were five. Danni, however, preferred to stay away from unnecessary fights; it would only worry her parents and get her scolded by many people. She used her skills in Hapkido to get away from fights.

 

History: Danni grew up in Caenarfon, Britain until she moved to New York with her mom, Alicia, and her dad, Steven, when she was seven. The time spent in America has caused her to begin to lose her British accent. If it wasn't for her parents she might have lost her British accent all together. The time spent in the place where she was born were some of the best times of her life. Over there she had a few close friends who spent lots of time with. When she learned that they were going to move, she was heart-broken, and when she broke the news to her friends they were just as devastated.

She misses the time she spent in Britain terribly. Their house was located down near the water, surrounded by a lovely meadow. Now they live in an apartment, which is big to some people's standards, but to her, it's much smaller than her previous home. She went to regular schools and never joined any special programs; neither did she take part in any martial arts competitions despite being quite a prodigy at the martial art called Hapkido. Danni preferred to just train in the dojo where she took lessons, simply sparring with the other students and learning something new every time she lost a match with someone. She wasn't a perfect 'A' student, and mostly had C's in her classes with a B here and there in an easy class. Fujimoto-sensei, her Hapkido teacher in New York, told her that she had a future with Hapkido and as long as she kept her grades at a C or better, she would be just fine.

And so she does just that, going about her daily life which is basically a "normal" life. Like any teenager, she does argue with her parents and ends it by going to her room and slamming the door shut. Then the music is turned up loud to drown them out as she either goes onto her laptop or sits down with a good book. All in all, nothing interesting happens in her life. Danni doesn't have any friends who she hangs out with on the weekends; she just has acquaintances that she converses with casually in school. The rest of her friends are people she has met over the internet, using the private messaging system on forums or through instant messaging. Of course, most of her time is usually taken up with school, homework, and lessons at the dojo. The main reason why she hasn't bothered to get to know anyone better is because she thinks Americans are gits, so there's no point in making friends with any.

 

Weaknesses:

1. She's not very big so she can be overpowered.

2. She has a short temper, which usually causes her to make rash decisions which could end in disaster.

3. As much as she hates to admit it, she's not the sharpest crayon in the toolbox She acts more often on intuition and gut feelings than she does through logical thinking. The only times when she actually thinks things through is if she has time or is forced to stop before plowing ahead. Her mind works slowly, but if given time, she can come up with logical ideas. Though usually, she doesn't give herself the time she needs and rushes things along.

4. She is stubborn, so very stubborn.

 

Skills:

1. She took lessons in Hapkido since she was five. Her first two years of learning Hapkido was in Britain and after they moved to New York they managed to find a class for it so that she could continue on.

2. She is quite quick from lots of training and has very good stamina.

3. She doesn't like to give up.

4. Danni can sing and has quite a lovely voice.

 

Special Abilities: As a Larkin Faerie, she has an amazing voice and the power that comes along with it. The kind of song she is best at is one that hypnotizes her enemy for a short amount of time which is usually about ten minutes or so. This amount varies of course, since if she had already used up a lot of her energy, it would not last as long as it could. Another song she is very good is one that immobilizes the opponent. This also lasts for about ten minutes or so, depending on how much energy she has and whatnot. When an opponent is immobilized, they cannot move or use any of their powers. Of course, their brain is still functioning normally and they can breathe.

So I lied again. I remembered at the last minute that I had to read this 30-paged article for English. -____- Which means I haven't updated anything yet. And it's causing a lot of confusion. /shot

 

mya, I'm sorry. It's my fault for missing Kira's request and, as a result, losing the Dark spot for you. I'll try to make it up by finding some extra (non-hybrid) spot you could fill if you'd like that. I can't exactly think of any right now because all the plot ideas I have are pretty much giant lakes with no rivers connecting to them. x3

But anyways, expect a PM. ^^ And if you don't get one, you can assume I remembered that I forgot to do something. x3

 

Speaking of losing people, I was talking to Dash yesterday, and she told me Key's likely to not come back due to (not so) recent happenings. :[ Dash said she'll take on Sadine for us, so no need to worry about Sadine and Breckin's potentially romantic relationship.

 

Libbie, you should have reserved it just in case! It would have caused less of a heart attack for you. I sort of figured you were going to join though after I realized you weren't trying to bust me for something lol /is paranoid Also, I think it'd be better if you still sent me the profile and not just post it here. ^^

 

Got that, Kira (: Hopefully, we can get to the tunnels before this sudden wave of enthusiasm wears off. >< It's been a loooong time since I've seen this many posts in a single day.

 

Nothing really happened since they were almost down the hallway, Skarx. Carlie and Lakshmi got in a fight, sort of, in which Carlie accidentally revealed that he has cancer. Hadyn is sort of crazy at the moment (can't wait till that ends). Gordon got thrown against the wall of the cell by one of the Changelings (and I suppose if Odio doesn't show up, we'll have to say Gordon was killed in that scene :/). Breckin sort of goes into this demonic trance for a minute, and then Sadine kissed him on the forehead. Right now, he and Kathy are supporting each other so they can walk. Danni has Rhiannon's bow and quiver, as well as the flashlights (which aren't really flashlights. You should probably at least read the last post). Sen is not really processing things. You should probably read Nessie's last post (since Sen is now under her control). It's pretty amusing how he reacted to Ancadel's death. Alina's just, like, there, being useless.

 

I do believe the only completely uninjured (in terms of physical) are: Sadine, Locke, Mark, Evelyn, and maybe Carlie.

 

Yeah, that summary probably made no sense. It's all I really remember after Marlowe left.

 

 

I would suggest that you at least start reading from that freakishly long post on the seventeenth page, since that's when everything starts happening. As for a recap, I don't have the time right now. x3 I still have to finish typing up darn grammar notes for Spanish D<

 

 

So, to make sure I've got everything down:

Yeah, so Mel is a friend of mine I dragged into this. She'll be playing as any NPC who's directly involved with the plot I have in mind. That way, I don't have to ruin any surprises for everyone else, since I practically already told her most of what's on my mind.
