[The paper was curled into a scroll, so some of the writing, while readable, is rather twisted. The wording is in a cursive script, though it does seem a little shaky and wobbly on the larger words.]
------------------
April Seventh,
The days have been passing nicely, with Pepper taking most of my time. He gave me a flower for April Fools; I believe that he doesn't know about the pranking side for that day however, since it was not rigged for anything.
Some other hatchlings his age tricked him into falling on Willow while she was napping. While it may have been good fun, a young Cheese has no chance against an angry Vine. It may take awhile for me to forgive her and the other hatchlings, but at least Pepper wasn't hurt. I can't say anything about Willow's belly, however, or the young pranksters heads.

It may seem all fine and dandy now, but there have been rumors circulating about a squabble a couple of miles away. The Crimson that the human finds amusing has found more followers and had started a fight with the Trio. From what is said, he fled after Sebastian fried his wings, the other rebels in tow. I heard Skitzor talk to the human about some of the members and it seems that even a Valentines Dragon would stoop so low as to attack its master. The Sweetling in question, however, caused friendly fire and actually helped the Trio.
That does not forgive it for trying to claw out Silvias's eye.
I feel helpless, with the human not seeming to take this seriously. While no one has died, there have been injuries and some hatchlings have been taken hostage. The few we get back suffer from tortuous wounds and the Whites say that they may need to stay with them for treatment permanently.
No one has been sent out to be the law or check the borders. Human villages have been burned down more frequently and it is a blessing that no human has died yet. The fact that most powerful Holiday dragons continue to stay on the humans side is the only good thing so far, but the human hasn't even tried to get them to fight back.
It isn't that they want to. I've spoken to some of the leaders and they are ready to go, but the human has forbidden them from attacking on their own.

I've tried to speak to her, but she brushes me off. When I spoke to Xil, he seemed downcast and stressed, though he said that any fighting against the rebels will be punished.
I can't make sense of this. I've known the human for my whole life, which has been for a long time and I'm not even the oldest dragon. If a human has that sort of power, to stay alive far longer than any dragon I know, to have the power to keep a Zombie by her side and tamed, then why does she not crush the attacking force? They are not even at their full strength, yet the human allows them to do what they want.

What will she do next, restrict the Whites from helping the injured and broken?
...
Ah, I don't know. Maybe there is a spy in the ranks, maybe there is some hidden plan I don't know of. Of the few dragons who are close to the human, myself included, I think only Xil and Sin Master know anything. The Marrow and Black have been disappearing more often lately, though in different ways. Xil sticks by the humans side while Sin Master has left randomly throughout the days and nights. She doesn't give any reason or explanation.
I've spoken with the Trios, and they are starting to become worried. While they don't say much, they seem uneasy with my prying. It could be said that they know the plan, but they seem just as surprised as everyone else when a new development happens.

What human doesn't tell the Guardian Summoners their plans?

I don't know what is pulling the strings, but I do know what I have to do. If any of this gets to Pepper, I will leave. Damn the human and the dragons who don't want to fight and protect, I don't care. If Pepper comes to harm, then I will kill this rebellion myself, as well as challenge the human to a contest of leadership. With that amount of power, shouldn't one protect as many as they can?

First Entry | Previous Entry

It is time to go.
There are now well over 500 dragons in our clan. I can scarcely believe it - only two months ago, perhaps less, I was writing of the arrival of our 400th! And now… well.
This should be a happy occasion, and to some extent, it is, yet now certain facts are absolutely undeniable. Our present territory is far too small to support such a population. Already, fights and scuffles over cave-space and food are breaking out - it feels as if an hour does not go by without the sounds of angry roars and the slap of wings lifted in a threat display. A council of the leaders and prominent clan members (of which I am one) was convened a week ago, and it was unanimously decided that a new settlement must be located as soon as possible, before disputes turn to blood-spilling.
Many of our more eager clan members volunteered to scout out this settlement. Iskfin and his deputies had a deal of a time sorting the glory-seekers and the unskilled from those who may actually prove useful… and, of course, those who would go anyway so might as well go officially. The chosen have been flying out in small parties over the last few days, each group headed by a Black. Iskfin has hand-picked his own group, which will leave last, as he must supervise the whole operation. Among that group, I am proud to say, is my son Golden Growl. Albus’s son Sehbeny is also included, though there were objections raised to that, chiefly by Albus himself. Leader though he is, he still seems to forget - or perhaps wilfully ignore - that Sehbeny is after all a male dragon in his prime, and cannot remain only a support and lieutenant to his sire for the rest of his life.
As for myself, I will be leaving last of all, as I must support and guide the youngest members of our clan to a safe and well-established new home. I, or one of my daughters if I must carry flightless hatchlings, will also convey the Keeper there.

In other news, there has been yet another “new release” - this time the newly discovered breeds are Glaucus Drakes and Howler Drakes. We currently have two hatchlings and one near-hatching egg of each. The Glaucuses are flashy, with white and blue colouring and stripes along their back and currently-small wings, while the Howlers are at the moment relatively plain, with dark bodies and rather pointy yellow heads. The Keeper comments that they will become handsomer as they grow, as it has observed some adult specimens on its travels.
The one problem is the noise they make - I am used to rambunctious hatchlings, but the Howlers constantly chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp… Even the egg joins in on the act. It is such a defining characteristic that the Keeper has named them for it, calling one Orianne Chirp and the other Judicael Chirp. Since the Pinks influenced their eggs, we already know they’ll be female and male respectively. The Glaucuses are not yet named, since the Keeper is struggling to think up suitable names for them.

I am afraid that this is all I can write just now, as there is a lot of hustle and bustle taking up my attention, and I believe I just heard my name being called. I will make another entry tomorrow, or if not, whenever a new location is found.

Decided to give one for my recently adult dragon, Flying Icarus. Looks like he's making good use to it.

QUOTE
The Sixteenth of April, 2014

I have become an adult of my own right, as did my beautiful Angel. True, none of us expected to become adults when we were maturing, but it caught up with us. We are now expectant parents to our first egg, beautiful like its mother. But Angel had been sore for an hour (by the time of this writing). I will do my best to keep her comfortable and happy.
I had been reading over my lineage with her, where I have been in a line of proud dragons, a few being like myself. Some expanded for many years, others just recent. However, I had also found out of my half-brothers, half-sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews that I had never known. Perhaps my father was far more legendary than I knew of.
Then I asked Angel about her lineage. Being dragons, we use telepathy to speak with each other.
"Oh, I do not know about my lineage, Icarus," she answers with a sigh. "I hardly know if I have as much family as you do."
"Yea, but our egg, if it survives when it hatches, will start your lineage," I assured to her with comfort.
"And it will continue yours," she added. Naturally, Angel had a point. How I love her dearly.
Then there was the matter of the rest of our clan. Angel and I were the only adults for now, being that the hatchlings-- Hero, Tche, Bastille, Throne, Crown, and Bob-- have yet to mature, let alone be gendered. Bastille and Bob were also Magi dragons (Angel's kind), while Hero, Throne, and Crown were different kinds entirely. And I am the lone Ice dragon and leader of the clan.
We hope to expand one day, but not today.

I must admit, I do get quite antsy, having to look after and provide for the eggs and hatchlings. I wish to travel, to hear the news and view locations that other members of the group call home. We're spread out over a wide range of habitats, and although I do get visits and hear news secondhand, it would be a great thing to talk to the others personally. Some of them I've not seen in months.

However, for now I have to stay and tend to the eggs and hatchlings. Those that I can, anyway. The Glaucus hatchlings had to be moved to join the adults, since they seemed really miserable. The others seem to be getting along, although the constant noise of the Howler disturbs everyone. And I have to tend to the eggs as well, making sure that they don't get too hot. Or cold, for that matter. My own egg gets closer to hatching. Never thought I'd have family of my own. Still not quite used to the idea.

Flying Icarus's journal has another entry. I wonder what this reads?

QUOTE
The Twentieth of April, 2014

Everything seemed to change dramatically.

My and Angel's beautiful egg has finally hatched, revealing a fine Magi hatchling that survived egghood. They were henceforth named "Heir", as I hoped to one day leave my clan to our child. I had taken a look at Heir's lineage recently and found that they had included the warmth of my life into the records. I never felt very proud in my life up until this point. We are now in talks of producing another egg once we are ready again.
However, everything seemed to change.
Bastille, Bob, Hero, Tche, and Crown are now adults and gendered to be females. Throne is now male, but he has hold off on mating for now, as he would choose who to mate.
Our Caretaker, bless her human heart, was visited by a Mystical wise-one, who gave her and our clan two new eggs and hatchlings. They were the elusive Thunder and Magma eggs, while we were given two Pink hatchlings, two Hellhorse hatchlings, and a Red and Purple Caveborn hatchlings. According to the Mystical wise-one, the Thunder Dragon, Magma Dragon, and I would summon a rare Dragon. But I doubt this to be true. The eggs were not yet hatched and adults at the time, whilst I was still caring for my and Angel's child in the meantime.
Then the Hellhorse hatchlings, named Secret and Action by our Caretaker, had to be concealed away as they would be too violent to handle as they became adults and producing their own egg; the Pink hatchlings, named Perfect and Cutie, became adults and made influence over one of the eggs before producing one of their own; the Red hatchling, Leon, became a female adult; the Purple hatchling, Spyro, became a male adult (no doubt that he and Leon would most likely mate); and the Thunder and Magma eggs hatched and named Chaos and Power.
No doubt that I would have to believe in fate now.

It may seem a bit illogical that paper somehow got into an egg, but my whiptail egg is somehow keeping a journal:

QUOTE
Dear journal, This egg seems protective, although I hear noises outside the shell. At one point in time, I felt a bit weightless. The ground underneath the egg seemed to be taken out from under me, as the underside of the egg seemed thin! It was scary, but I was eventually put down. It feels much better to be on solid ground. I wonder what that was.
I hear footsteps coming this way! Huge footsteps! Maybe mommy is coming to care for me! I’m shaking with excitement.
“This is the third whiptail on the scroll, Sockrael.” A voice says.
That’s not mommy.
“I realize that Swirls, but I just couldn’t resist! They’re too cute!” The voice that is supposedly Sockrael says. Is she a human?
“Was it a cave born, or abandoned?” Swirls, the dragon, asks.
“Cave born. There were no other dragons around.”
“I see.” The egg is being lifted again! It feels so weird!
“It’s light compared to the rest.” Swirls, who seems closer, says.
“It was laid recently, meaning it hasn’t grown much yet.” Sockrael says. What are they talking about?
“It’ll be a nice addition to the scroll.” Swirls says as my egg is placed on the ground. What is happening to me?
As footsteps become more distant, I hear them speaking.
“We should probably check on the new pink dragon. I think it had a soft shell.” Swirl’s voice is much fainter now.
“And you haven’t told me that it’s sick?!”
“It’s sick!?”
“We need to fog it before it dies, Swirls!” The footsteps run away faster.
I can’t make out what they’re saying anymore, but I’m a bit glad that there isn’t any talking. They kind of scare me, but also seem a bit protective.

Insan's Journal

QUOTE
As I went to my post for the night watch of my clans cave, I was being Taunted, yet again. The Scroll keeper, who insist on being called JS, has been trying her hardest to stop the Harshness of the some of the clan mates. Even if that is happening to me, I went to check on the eggs and hatchlings. The Scroll Keeper has been trading and getting a lot of eggs recently. One egg in particular caught my eye. There was a Nocturne egg. And when I asked Turp, one of the egg keepers who's it was. Well let's just say I'm an Aunt now. One of my sisters found a mate! I'm happy for her. I wonder what the scroll keeper is going to name it. Oh and even better news! The Clan now has an Avatar of Creation! His name is Creation is Key. Things around the Clans cave is working out to be Very interesting! -Insan Serifi (Previously known as Insanity Serifi)

It can be quite infuriating, having to look after eggs when I wish to go travelling. Why I've been designated egg raiser, I've no idea. Rather vexing, however. I have not been able to go wandering for many months now, due to different eggs of varying species being brought to me. Suppose it is worthwhile watching them grow, but they never stay long after maturing. Only my son, being the same species as me, is able to tolerate the heat of our environment. It is tiresome seeing him every day, however.

Uncertain if I like this place. There are other hatchlings, as well as eggs, but still, something doesn't feel quite right. There's no particular cause, as far as I can tell, it is just that one of the fogged eggs gives off an uneasy aura.

When I mature, I think I will move to a place where there is water. It's far too hot in here for my liking. I understand that high temperatures are needed in order to raise the eggs, but how do the hatchlings cope? Speaking of eggs, there are a few cracked shells scattered around, with the gristly remnants still inside. I shudder to think of how they died without ever being given a chance to live.

Yes, as soon as I am able to, I will leave this place. There are two others who agree with me that something does not feel right, yet have no wish to leave. May be able to persuade them, but we shall see. If it comes down to it, then I shall use force. Don't want to, but if I have to, then so be it.

I'm still in the egg. They say the shell is moist. I don't know. Water seems somehow interesting. I guess it's to do with the type of dragon I am, I don't know. There seem to be a lot of things I don't know. I don't even know what things look like! I can't see from inside the shell. It's too thick. Owner says that in a couple of days I should be able to crack it. Not sure if she's right though. It is pretty hard. It's really nice here - warm nest, interesting eggs, fun hatchlings to talk too. There are some dragons, pillows they're called, who often come and warm our eggs. They seem really nice. Occasionally, other... did she say they were called people? ...yes, I think that's it. Occasionally other people come to visit the cave. From what I've heard, it seems I might be green or yellow when I hatch. Apparently, yellows used to be more common, but the other dragon owners think they're going to get rarer, as rare as a plant-dragon that sleeps underground. I can't say what colour I am. It's too dark in here. OK, sorry, I need to stop now, owner's back, and she seems to be wanting something. Oh, she wanted to sketch us on that scroll she has, so that all of us eggs where next to each other. She also told me some stories, they where interesting to listen too. Now I want to sleep. Good night.

Oh, before I go, here is a map of where to find me if you want to see me. Good night.

QUOTE
I apologize again, about the absence of entries in my journal. I had reached the age of a moon, thus getting my job in the clan. Well before I go any further, my master has finally successful summoned a mysterious egg. It worked, and the dragon hatched male. So, the legendary Guardian of Nature became important to the tribe. He now works with Finn and the other leaders in our clan, watching over our clan. So, back to when I was a moon, I had my task chosen. Finn and the Guardian had to consult each other for some time before deciding. It was actually very scary. Usually other dragons at this age would have their parents with them, and siblings if possible. But I had none, being gifted to the clan. During this time, other dragons from the clan would speak out loud about what they think my job should be. One of the Skywing dragons spoke up about me trying to protect the eggs.

So, my job was chosen to be a Raiser of the Young, or a Youngling-Watcher. I was actually very glad! I am now in the Youngling Cave of the clan, watching over the hatchlings play and occasionally pressing my warm body to encourage them to hatch.

Remember that mean Hellhorse dragon? Yeah, he became a guard. Not a warrior, I suspect Finn didn't want a reckless dragon in the army.

Well after my One Moon Choosing, I had to meet the Lead Youngling-Watcher. She was really nice, Royal Crowne. She was around a moon younger than me, but she looked after the other hatchlings when she was young herself. So, naturally she got the Lead rank. Right now she is taking a well deserved nap, and I am left to look after the young with an OchreDrake.

This is where I end. A Two-Headed egg is nearing his hatching time. Goodbye.

Apparently, Icarus took wind of what I have been doing and has barred me from going near his journal for a while. So, while he was out with Angel and Heir for some dinner, I had to be quick about it and decided to read his latest entry.

Apparently, this caught me by surprise.

QUOTE
The Fifteenth of September, 2014

My dearest Angel is recovering well from our latest attempt for a twelfth child a couple days ago. She fears that she will become infertile by the time she is ready for a child again. As her mate, I assured to her that Spyro will make sure that she would worry not about it. After nine Magi children like her and two Frost children like me, she truly is an angel-- my Angel.

Heir and Frost, my firstborn and my fourthborn respectively, were playing again with the hatchlings again. It makes my heart warm from the sight of it (before you ask, yes, Ice Dragons are capable of having feelings, too).

My tenth son, Icicle, has come out of his hole ever since Leon's actions in attempting to mate with a different dragon had resulted in her mothering Frostfire, a Fire Dragon like her. He's still a little shaky, but he's speaking to me, his mother, and his siblings as of tonight. While I do not plan to exile Leon out of the clan, as Spyro has asked me not to do so with his mate, I do plan on giving her a punishment. Hadn't decided what to do, though.

Our Caretaker, bless her human heart, has brought home three abandoned eggs into the cave, one of them a Pygmy Dragon egg. Ever since we welcomed Pygmies into the clan to expand our clan to fit Dragons of all appearances and sizes, our three adult Pygmies have been appointed to be the "parents" of the abandoned Pygmy Dragon egg. They seem delighted by it.

Angel has asked me if I am alright with us adopting an abandoned egg if our Caretaker brings one home. My response was this: "Any egg, our blood or another's blood, is always welcome into our wings, my love." She gave me a soft smile about it.

And we welcomed Terra Ignities, an Earth Dragon, when she was brought to the cave as an egg. Our Caretaker had named her.

We have much in our clan now, but we're careful not to become like these "Targaryens" that our Caretaker has been calling us as of late. She told me that they're from this "song" filled with Fire and Ice. Hmm.

QUOTE (Ivan Garoff)
I have hatched today and I am quite interested in this new world. Apparently this lovely human has taken me in. She must be quite rich, since she mentioned owning six pieces of land for her dragons. Right now I stay on the land she's reserved for her hatchlings. Many are so tiny. She told me they were called pygmies. Then she showed me the other dragons. There's another Purple Ridgewing! Her name is Inquiria. The human, who asked us to call her sbowen, told us that if all goes well, that we may become good friends, perhaps even mates. Hmm, I wonder if there's any flowers around here...

Inquiria will write next.

I just found an entry from my very first dragon, Caerulia-Lynx!

I've been with this lovely human for so long now that I can't imagine what it would be like to be elsewhere. I remember hatching several months ago and seeing her with a fluffy blanket to wrap me in. Now, I use my blanket with all the new little hatchlings. AeliaLynx, our caretaker, always called me the den mother and Aster the den father, since we were the first female and male respectively. I love caring for all the little ones, and now I have many paws to help me as well. A little red...dino? I think that's what it's called, just joined our group, and I'm headed over to him now. Oh thank heavens, Aster got to the little one first. Last thing the poor hatchling needs is to be bombarded by the other hatchlings. I have to go now and make sure Aster doesn't need anymore help. ~Caerulia

QUOTE (Inquiria)
My name is Inquiria. I am supposed to be a girl, but since I haven't matured yet, we don't know. Personally, I think that my mind is certainly focused on things that most girls worry about. There's this other Purple Ridgewing in the hatchling cave. His name is Ivan Geroff. He's supposed to be a boy. I've been hoping that my wings are purple and his are red all the time. I think I'm in love. Bad Inquiria! He's second gen, while I'm third. It could be a major no I don't know about. He'll probably reject me and take one of the Tan Ridgewings. They've come to visit the hatchling cave. The two sisters would adore him. And if they do, I'll be stuck to watch. Since Ridgewings are only found in mountains, it's best for me and Ivan to live there. But that's where the Tan Ridgewings live too. I can picture the three of them joking about the ridiculous names those sisters have. Dancing Now Come Back Later and Tan Mounain are charming and polite. I hope he picks me. I know I don't need a mate to survive, but I'd love to raise eggs of my own. A Stripe named King Dasdarian Charming has visited us. He has 8 children. He tells me that he wants them to live all around the land so that his last name will be everywhere. His wife, Queen Black Magi, is very nice for a Black Dragon. She was cast out since she was normal and that's where the human rescued her. She invited me to talk to her any time.

We do not argue!
Disagree.
Perhaps.

It takes much effort to work together, but we have tried. We believe we are successful.
We have learned a new way of writing. We are trying it now.

Hmm yes it looks nice but it tires the eyes to read too much of it.
Yes. We can be fancy when there is not as much news to tell.
Yes.

The human mage has returned. We did not believe she would be back for so long.
She seemed so tired and weak when she returned. And much older, too.
We know she would not approve of telling secrets. So we move on.
Yes.

She returned. Despite the prevailing thoughts that she would soon leave once more, she regained her role. With her Whiptail outcast by her side, the speedy mage set about building up forces for those under her association and the protection of Master Pisces.
(We have not actually met Master Pisces. Only the Shimmers know what he looks like and where he dwells.)
At first she was merely finding homes for those we have seen wandering about the lands ever since the beginning of the year and throughout the summer, though it would appear that part of her goal is approaching its end.
She laments a lack of nurturing Incubators. Foolish mage.
Mmm yes the mages only have powers of ice, not of fire. They cannot substitute a true Dragon's warmth.

She has been busy as of late, and we have been surprised, yes, to hear the rumors.
They say she has returned to her famous lightning speed elemental and metal tracking.
Honestly this does not surprise us. She has a clear weakness for them. And beyond that
yes
she has a vision.

Yes.
We have seen her speaking with other mages. One of whom gives off a feel of the harsh sun and tropical waters, a koi-shaped brooch pinned to her wear. Our mage seems forever in awe of her, yes.

She spent much time with the Shimmers, and then went up into the mountains to speak with the Tinsels. We saw her on the way by—and you would not believe
NO we must not speak of that yet, it would place him in danger!
Mmm yes.

She went up the mountain and on the way back, tarried with us.
She brought gifts of spiced meats. Yum.
Yes.
She told us stories for she knows we like them.
Yes.
She approves of our writing.
Yes.

She told us the story of Lonely Mother, the only Frill to traverse our lands
We should explain our lands
But the story!
We must explain, yes. Other clans and dragons have done so. We must stake our territory!
YES!

We are not housed like cattle or caged like lions.
It does not matter if the preserve is an acre or a square yard. It is still a cage.
We are not caged.
Yes. We wander where we please.
The clans have staked out their own territories. The squishy mage must travel between them when she wishes to meet with us.
Most clans have chosen to live out in the wilderness. Away from other Clans, away from humans, away from thieving mages.

The Squadrons have changed, as time has gone on. They have grown too large and split off again and again. Now, there are many more squadrons… but the leaders of the older, larger groupings may still order other Squadrons around, for they are the leaders of the FORMATIONS.

The squishy mage looked displeased and said the words were being used wrong.
She is an odd duck.
Yes.

Although the entry stops there, as if the writer had gotten distracted, another "entry" is found laying nearby. It's actually composed of cut-outs of dragon descriptions that appear to have been pasted together in a chart somewhat sloppily, showing the following dragon descriptions:

QUOTE (Cut-and-Paste Story Chart)
Mutant Hissi is the Alpha Male for a squadron of Two-Headed Lindwurms. He shows clear favoritism to his green kin; his attitude toward the blue-hued Lindwurms could be described as ambivalent at best. Most of the other cavern-dwelling dragons tend to avoid him; he is known to collect bones and seems very partial to skeletal remains from crypts.

Little is known about the squadron as a whole beyond their tokens. Each member possesses a cubical statuette of a cow that is covered with glowing carvings of the symbol of the Snake rather than spots. These tokens are constructed largely of ivory and bone, but have inlaid red gemstones for eyes. It is rumored that these tokens are gifts from a guardian, much like the Pisces tokens carried by many water-based squadrons.

———————

Lil' Parmesan spends its time outside a rural town in a place that is constantly humid. Because the town is populated by farmers, wild birds tend to flock to the fields and the nearby river where Lil' Parmesan stays. It has multiple gaping holes in its body from years of said birdies trying to eat him.

Though it is not a true dragon, Lil' Parmesan was "adopted" by a squadron of White dragons who took pity on the enchanted block of cheese. It currently resides with a ragtag group of Cheese, Paper, and White dragons.

———————

That's strange...

This "dragon" appears to have been raised in captivity by Vengeance Vendetta and his minions rather than being eaten or turned. It is covered in mold and--like everything else in the area--stinks of dead eggs and hatchlings. Though it broke free after being successfully revived in an attempt of zombification, it continues to remain within the Vampires' territory. It is almost as if it doesn't know where else to go.

———————

Torchic Torkie is a rather grouchy bird. Few can blame her for that: all her eggs keep being eaten by dragons, snakes, and humans. It doesn't help that ever since she and the other Chickens tried to eat Lil' Parmesan, she's been placed in a henhouse.

———————

Kazzy'ak is the Alpha Female of a squadron of Copper Dragons. She serves as the brood's matriarch, a duty which mostly plays out by helping Lonely Mother take care of orphaned eggs and hatchlings. It is no secret that she is highly territorial, especially when it comes to her rank: the separation of her squadron from other Metallics occurred after she refused to surrender her position to Regina Maria Evenstar. Unlike her younger counterpart, Kazzy'ak scorns handouts and has little patience for intruders. She is the only known Alpha Female of currently recorded squadrons to be without a mate. Rumors say that she once vied for the attentions of One Nation, but was spurned in such great disgust that it left her with little else to do but care for the young of others.

It leaves off there, as if—once again—the makers got distracted.

QUOTE (Inquiria)
I can't believe it! The magic of the pink dragons worked. I'm a girl and Ivan Geroff is a boy. The human says we'll grow up soon. I can't wait. Black Magi says I have nothing to fear about Ivan. She has told me that the human would like for me to mate Ivan. If he refuses, it is likely she will breed the other dragons that aren't Tan Ridgewings. Oh, I hope he doesn't refuse.

Icarus finally let me read his journal entries on the vow not to sell them to the humans outside of the Cave. Right now, here is an entry that he has written...

QUOTE
The Twentieth of September, 2014

Today was of such happiness.

Spyro and his daughter Fluffy had boosted my and Angel's Fertility respectively when it was time for us to breed. It has worked and my dearest Angel and I have successful produced our twelfth child-- our third Ice Dragon Egg. I'm staying with Angel at the moment so that she can recover well. Our eleven children have heard the news and have arrived to come and see the clan's latest arrival. I had been informed that the rest of the clan is waiting to see the Egg. But Angel has denied this request for the rest of the clan to see the Egg. Not yet, anyway.

Angel is now asleep with the Egg gently wrapped in her arms in protection.

From my understanding, three of our adopted Eggs, two Royal Blue Dragon eggs and a Canopy Dragon eggs, are hatching. Soon we'll have more hatchlings.

But today is a sad day, too.

Keys, our white Striped Dragon, has begged our Caretaker not to take his Egg that he and Swimmer, one of the Waterhorse Dragons, have produced. I could tell by the Caretaker's eyes that she didn't want to do such a thing, but she had no other choice as we were too full with Eggs at the moment. Poor Swimmer is in grieving when her first child is taken away to be abandoned. She won't let anyone go near her in her time of grieving.

Keys has approached me and asked me if there would be "Vampires" afoot. I'm deeply concerned that there would be Vampires, but if they exist, I will not let them touch my love or our children or their children.

If I could, I would have stopped the Caretaker and brought the Egg back to our clan immediately. But it can't be undone now.

But soft, the Caretaker comes to visit our child. Let us hope that she does not stir my love from her sleep.

But what's this?

A journal entry by Angel? What does it say?

QUOTE
I am sore for the twelfth time from laying my and my mate's newest Egg. It is an Ice Egg, like Frost and Icicle before. Overjoyed? Always will be, and Icarus is happy, too. Our children have gathered before us to meet their newest sibling the Egg. Before Frost hatched, Heir, Comb, and Trickster (our first three children, Magi Dragons like I) were surprised to have an Ice Dragon as a sibling. Now with this Egg, they are no longer phased.

Icarus has asked them to leave us so that I would be with our new child. Heir, being the natural eldest brother, obeyed and was the first to leave, with his brothers and sisters following suit.

After our children have left, Icarus turned to me and spoke (with telepathy), "My darling, you were very brave from what has happened. But you are tired. Here, I will stay with you until you have enough strength left to return to the other Dragons. Then we shall hope that our child can survive Egghood like their siblings before them."

I complied and allowed him to stay with me. "Your ancestor, Opalescent Romeo was it? He would be very proud of you that you are following in his footsteps," I spoke as we rested together.

"Aye, but I do not know what my father would have said," Icarus responded with a sigh. Ah yes. He did not know much about his father. "I doubt that he would have agreed much with having a Magi Dragon as a daughter-in-law, let alone talk about how his lineage did not have one."

Aye, yet I must rest. Good night, Icarus, my darling. Good night, all.
